Makes charging or maintaining your car's battery an easy and fuss free experience.Small enough to be tucked away in the car and this particular model (MXS 5.0) has an alternator test function. Well worth the slight premium over the standard MXS 5.0

Bought to identify problem with car and charge spare battery. Seems to do a good job in maximising charge of battery without frying or damaging. Eight stage charging sequence with different options and reconditioning program. State of the art battery charging unit which can be left connected monitoring battery charge and automatically maintaining car battery. Comes with a 5 year guarantee. Well respected brand and used in the trade.

I bought this charger because the one I had wasn't rated for charging the AGM battery in my M3. The CTEK is small so I can put it on charge over night and easily close the bonnet. The charger is quick and the testing functionality works well. Its not the cheapest charger on the market but you get what you pay for and this is an excellent all rounder.

CTEK are good reliable product which can be left powered on for long periods to keep batteries topped up as well as doing all the standard charging tasks. Price was good, plug is European not UK/Ireland so if using 3 pin UK plug will need to change.
Great product but I don't think it was worth paying the extra £20 for the battery test feature.Does exactly the same job as the ctek mxs 5.0. The test feature doesn't give you a amp reading as it works on a traffic light system.But it does exactly what it claims so can't fault it but I would suggest buying a separate battery/alternator tester.

CTEK MXS 5.0 Charger has turned my dead battery back to normal. Happily using it for another 5 months already after fully charged.
This charger is the best available as a portable charger. I have a few classic cars and they are connected constantly to CTEC chargers at the storage facility. Recently I left my Jaguar unattended due to a broken bone and the battery was drained completely for some weeks. Rather than buy a new battery I invested in this CTEC charger for myself to recover the battery, which it has done very well and cheaper than a new battery.
We 'had' two dead car batterys for our 2ltr diesels which we thought we were going to have to replace and another smaller car battery which had been sitting unused & flat in my fathers car again we thought no chance in bringing back to life.... we tried trickle charge with a old battery charger we had but no joy - we read this charger reconditions etc...and were a little sceptical but !! after each battery was put on charge etc.... they worked !! Miracle !! As they say you pay for what you get and this little gem is worth the heavier price tag as it hss already paid for itself and will do more over in years to come. Havent tried on our campervan leisure battery but ive no doubts it will do the job and keep the lights on :))
