Cricut Cutting Mat 12"X12"

Pretty good. Works fine. I just wish I knew that I needed glue to put it together! Had to file some of the pieces down so that they'd fit into prospective grooves. Great product idea and a wonderful addition to my Cricut paraphernalia! I'd say (and mind you, this is just - what I hope will be - constructive criticism) there's a need for better quality control and perhaps a bit more detail in how it goes together. Thanks so much!!

My initial reaction to opening this was wow, this is really sturdy. Unfortunately one small lip of the product was broken off on the 24” extension part upon receipt. I put the unbroken one on my cricut and then that same piece broke off as well. I immediately messaged the seller and his initial response was that I didn’t buy the upgraded shipping option (that I didn’t see upon check out) & so technically my item wasn’t under warranty. I don’t think my damaged item was a shipping issue as the package was completely intact. It seems like just a weak tension spot in the design is all. Even though I didn’t get the upgraded shipping, he still sent out a replacement for both damaged extension pieces. Cricut Mat

I bought this not knowing that there were two inside!!!! After I starting using my circuit machine and learning how to use the mat, I was relieved to find the additional mat inside the pack!! It came in handy when I made my first layered vinyl project. I was able to load my material on the extra mat while the other mat was in the cutter!! So incredibly convenient!!!! Michaels has everything you need to start making beautiful projects with your Cricut!! Happy Crafting!!!

Cricut Standard Grip Mat 3 Pack

These mats can last a long time with proper care. Try never to touch the adhesive with your fingers, the oils degrade the adhesive. After use, spray the mat with adhesive and ensure each part of the mat is reached. Use your scraper to GENTLY scrape off any excess materials left after your project. Use paper towel to dry off the mat except for the adhesive part. Leave that to dry naturally. Rotate your mat and move your material cut location, especially when doing small designs which take up only a small portion of the mat. For example move cut location to the middle of your mat. This ensures the adhesive on top left corner of the mat isn’t comparatively degraded versus the rest of the mat. I’m very happy with my mats. Great mat

This mat is mainly the only one I ever really use. It’s perfect for everything from cardstock to vinyl. Whatever you have on it stays put and then comes off with ease without ruining anything you’ve just cut. Sometimes people say to use the standard grip mat for certain things but I feel it rips things more that I would like. It lasts a long Good while and easy to clean when it loses some of its stickiness. Becomes brand new after a good washing with soap. I won’t ever get another brand.

Item, Quality, & Overall Experience

I can always rely on Michael's for any last minute needs. I was using my cricut for a work project and I forgot my mat. I was able to walk in an out Michael's with new mats and the best part was that they were on sale! They are always good quality and they serve it's purpose! Plus it helped me print wording in other languages (Arabic, Dari, & Amharic) for our family center.

Much better price than Silhouette Mats

Although I do own both Cricut and Silhouette machines, I use these mats on both. Not only are they a much better price ,but they're also more rigid of a mat. As far as adhesiveness, I find both Cricut and Silhouette mats equal and they both stay sticky about the same amount of usages (depending on material used). However these being more rigid mats makes them last longer in the sense that you can clean them up more easily, you can use painters tape on the corners of your paper to hold them down when the mat is less sticky. Where as if I do that with an old silhouette mat, it just flops over and it's just too flimsy. I also find that the Cricut brand goes on sale more often, making it overall a great deal.

Rookie mistake leads to new purchase!

Great product! Strong adhesive, but not too strong! I used it on note cards and with my Cricuit to write out care instructions for all my plants! Had to buy a new one because I hadn’t used Cricuit products before and didn’t realize I had to put the cover back on it so I got dog hair all over my first one. Thankfully they’re always in stock at Joanna’s and they are always a great price!

Standard cutting mat

Really useful size for small projects. Really sticky to start with and requires careful curving to release intricate cuts. As the adhesiveness reduces the mat continues to work well with lighter materials. An essential piece of equipment for the early Explore models but good quality and last well.The 'standard' is the stickiness not the size. The purple one on the website is not standard it is strong grip and better suited to heavy materials.

Surprised!

I used this mat with plush fabric that was super furry. I was amazed that everything stuck well and cut perfectly. I guess I put it to the test! If it works this well under those conditions I can’t imagine I’d have any issue with thinner fabrics. Easy to clean all that fur off as well. Pleasantly surprised. The only downside was that the cutting pressure needed for the plush fabric and cutting multiple passes of the same shape essentially ruined the mat by leaving a few small gouges where some tight turns were.
