If you're used to the larger keyboards, it is an adjustment; however, if you're building out your gaming setup and the focus is just getting into gaming, this is a great start.Now let's talk about the look and feel of the keyboard. The keyboard is solid not just from a functionality perspective but from an overall build perspective, meaning it has a little weight to it, not flimsy and extra light like some others. The detachable USB Type-C cable makes it super easy to connect and disconnect. The RGB is bright; it lights up my PC area. I house it under a pull-out section on my desk, so I don't see it from across the room as much at night when I'm not gaming.While the Corsair K60 Pro gaming keyboard is a quality keyboard, it doesn't have the blow-you-away wow factor or extra features provided by some of the other keyboards on the market. The RGB is bright and colorful, and the keyboard is responsive, but that's about where it stops. Those looking for a more feature-packed keyboard are better looking elsewhere. This will do you just fine for those looking for a great starter gaming keyboard.

This keyboard unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. For starters, I am unable to get the iCue software to even recognize the keyboard, and after going through an hour of troubleshooting, I gave up. ICue is the software Corsair uses to recognize its components and allow customization. In my case, I am unable to change the lighting on the board or create macros.The pros:• It’s ultra portable• It’s mechanical• Has a really solid feel• I’ve logged about 12 hours on this board, with no issues of double letters or missed strokes.The cons:• The action on the keys has a soft feeling at the end of each stroke, instead of the sharp pushback (my personal preference) that most mechanical keyboards have.• It’s not battery powered and has no Bluetooth capability. ... MoreThis keyboard unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. This keyboard is marketed with the appeal of portability, but since it lacks battery and Bluetooth, it really limits the board.• Can’t toggle lighting directly from the keyboard, you need to access the iCue software to do this (if it’s even an available option, again, I couldn’t get the software to work)With all that said, I honestly will still probably use this keyboard when I travel. I am a professional accountant by day, and a gamer at night, and I frequently travel to conferences and meetings. This board may not be my go-to board, but it's portability is appealing for traveling.

From the Optical Switches to the Bright RGB to the portability this is about as good as it gets.Aesthetics/RGB- When it comes to aesthetics, corsair doesn't play games. The RGB on this keyboard is as good as it gets. Pair that with the iCue software and it is the best combo in the game giving per key control over the RGB. The brushed aluminum look and clicky keys are quite satisfying; The Keyboard connects with a detachable USB type C cable which is great considering it isn't a wireless keyboard, however, the cable isn't braided which doesn't make sense to me as all my other corsair keyboards come with braided (albeit non detachable) cables. The thickness of the keyboard is quite substantial and is about twice as thick as my G915 but this is likely due to the optical switches. This isn't really applicable for many people but if you want to travel with this keyboard it is to be noted.Optical Keys - The corsair optical keys are quite clicky, comparable to a Cherry MX Red but not as much travel - maybe even a hybrid between a MX Red and a MX Brown. I enjoy it for gaming, however, they are not the best keys for typing long form emails, school work or anything that would be lengthy in the amount you are typing due to the keys having a decent distance to travel for actuation.Value - at $130 we are getting into the higher end of keyboards. You could make the claim that it is double the price of the HyperX TKL but that would not be an apt comparison as these keys, switches, build and lighting are in a higher class. The better comparison would be to the Razer Black widow (v3) and the Steel series Apex Pro which it is about the same price if not cheaper while delivering the same if not better quality.Conclusion- Compared to all the other keyboards in its class, this is by far my favorite that I have tried. While this isn't a wireless keyboard and is a little beefy it is easily forgivable with the detachable USB C cable, great per key lighting and optical switches. I find this great for most gamers looking for a clean aesthetic and a portable one if needed. I recommend going to bestbuy and trying out the optical keys as they are the next generation of keys and I quite literally fell in love with them and the feedback while reviewing this unit. While I am a full size keyboard kind of person, I will be looking into a corsair keyboard with optical switches to replace my aging G915. Outside of bestbuys excellent product support you will also find corsairs to be of quality with pretty good warranties. Corsair makes good products and stands behind them.
