Sleep in after the sun rises or put the kids to bed early while the sun is still up with a Coleman Carlsbad Fast Pitch 6-Person Dark Room Tent. The Dark Room technology on this tent blocks 98% of sunlight to keep the tent darker if you want to sleep while the sun is up, and it also reduces how much the tent heats up during the day by up to 9.5%. You can grab a drink and an outdoor chair, and watch nature unfold before your eyes while you relax in the screen room. It's a great way to stay away from bugs while enjoying the great outdoors, and with a full floor you can use it for extra sleeping space on warmer nights. The Fast Pitch system uses pre-attached, color-coded poles and hub, fast fit feet and snag-free Insta-Clip suspension to let you set up your tent 45% faster than a comparable Coleman tent with conventional setup. If it rains, the WeatherTec system with its patented welded floors and inverted seams will help you stay dry. Illumiline reflective guy lines are more visible at night so you don't get tripped up if you need to take a walk in the dark. When it's time to head home, the tent fits into an included carry bag for easy storage and transport.

Im on night 5 of 5 staying in this tent. Its a great tent lots of room. I have a queen sized air matress in here along with a ton of camping supplies. It has 4 windows total. On the back it is mostly screen. I did put the rain cover on and it covers all the back and sticks out at the sides so you can have the windows unzipped while its raining. The rain cover also covers the top of the screened in porch area. I give it 4 stars because it did get some water in all the corners during an epic thunderstorm. But it stood strong and the inside didn't flood. Now the screened in porch area was pretty flooded since there is nothing to cover the front with. All in all its a pretty great tent that can withstand a lot. Just bring a towel if its going to rain to wipe up the ... MoreIm on night 5 of 5 staying in this tent. Its a great tent lots of room. But a few towels to soak up the water fron the screened porch.

The inside has dark room effect in the upper sections but the lower walls do not .The screen area is great but the fly doesn’t cover the screen section therefore rain comes directly into this area . The positioning of the fly over the main tent section allows rain to run from the screened area roof under the fly and down the tent walls .Bought Coleman brand as a quality tent but was disappointed in this particular model. The tent was roomy (2xking single mattresses and plenty of space for luggage) and was easy to erect.

After a one night trial run I cant really say if I think this is a good tent. Has some good features and some poor design qualities so I'm kinda on the fence.Pros - Good size when set up, would take 4 people, 3 comfortably but ideally 2 people with gear.Packed size and weight are excellent for a tent this size, could easily use for hiking or on the back of a bike. The dark room feature I think is a little overstated but still does its job of keeping things a little darker in the morning.Well appointed with several off floor storage pockets and a lamp hook in the centre of the internal area. The fly works well on the areas it covers including the windows which can be left open in rainy weather.Cons - The awning area is a design disaster for wet weather as ... MoreAfter a one night trial run I cant really say if I think this is a good tent. I can't believe they maintained this design when it was an obvious problem because there is a mesh strip in the floor at the back of the awning to let water drain out. Without a doubt the biggest con of this tent. For all the talk of its weather tec design any area that was not protected by the fly had some amount of water come through, not a lot but finding water on the floor inside your new tent doesn't score good points.Zippers can be a little fiddly if you are trying to open the tent one handed while carrying something but that is a little on the nit picky side. All in all not a bad tent but one that could have been so much better with some minor design changes. In good weather I think this would be a good tent but you cant always count on the weather.I have also seen some reviews saying the tent has no ventilation. I did my test on a fairly cool and wet night but never really noticed a problem. In summer with no wind it might get warmer but weather permitting you could leave the fly off and I couldn't see it being a big issue.

4 nights at Sequoia. Definitely not a darkroom, blocks about 50% of sunlight, allowed me to sleep comfortably till 8:30am while temperatures outside were 50 degrees outside at 6:00Am, Warning this black fabric helps warm the tent in early morning sunlight ,drawback is you will begin to bake as temperatures rise out side. Do to overnight 39 degree Temperatures outside, heavy condensation inside the tent caused dripping and dew like moisture on top of our heavy top cover blankets. Over all better venting would help, but with that would come a loss of heat. This tent is more suitable for moderate temperature camping. My biggest complaint is that one of the two matching tent we bought had a small tear in the rear window screen that my 4 year daughter found interesting ... More4 nights at Sequoia. Going to try to get an exchange through Colman. Com where I placed my order. Hope my review was helpful.
I absolutely love this tent!! This is the third summer using it and it has been thru strong winds, the cracking off the rain fly in the wind made me think it would be in shreds by morning.... It was perfectly fine and didn't unhook or shift anything. I love the room darkening feature and the porch! The sun isn't roasting you out in the mornings, and it's easy to sleep in. I use mine in South Dakota for two weeks in August with no shade so it is extremely hot in the sun, i like to take a nap for a couple hours till it cools off and i can do that with a couple portable fans and the windows open on the shaded sides of the tent. With my queen air mattress and all that room i can totally relax while I'm on vacation. I also like that depending on how you adjust the back ... MoreI absolutely love this tent!! With my queen air mattress and all that room i can totally relax while I'm on vacation. I also like that depending on how you adjust the back rain fly over the mesh back wall you can get a breeze and fresh air from any side of the tent and still have privacy. I haven't had any rain while using it 🤞 yet but i have faith it'll be just fine! I like that the three zippers of the porch all meet in one spot, i put a smaller lock thru them and feel a bit more secure than someone ducking into my tent when i leave for a few hours, or at night when i go to bed.
By far the best feature us a proper enclosed vestibule, although there are smallish gaps in the corners where bugs and small things can still get in.Nowhere as dark as advertised, which is very disappointing as that was the main reason I bought it.The fabric doesn't snag like my Spinifex Shoalhaven when threading through the poles. Two small mesh pockets halfway up is a nice feature too.Needs a rear window and better roof ventilation.Only used it once in dry weather.
Very roomy with great ventilation and great views around it. It has lots of extras like the screen room , screens on the doors and sides, and the dark interior ( good for excessive heat and light). Do not think this is easy to put up. The graphic instructions are very bad and instructions are useless. The picture on the storage bag does work. We were able to disassemble and store in 15 minutes. Overall, met our expectations.
Slept in this tent for 21 days during a work trip. One pole sleeve ripped during setup. Rain fly doesn’t cover the screened porch, so that space is unusable as storage. Came back after each rainstorm to find a pool of water on the floor of the porch because it doesn’t drain well. Getting in and out of the porch enclosure is difficult as well because there’s not a stake at the point where the three zippers meet to hold the floor down, which would create the tension needed to easily open the zippers. The dark room technology was just OK. Pretty disappointing because I’m a fan of Coleman tents. Wish I could return this one and go with a different model.
I got the 8 person Carlsbad as well as the 4 person. I am so used to these I wouldn't go anywhere else at this point. I don't know if I'm going crazy or what but in both tents there was no rod for the rain fly. Other than that everything is fine. I see a lot of complaints about it leaking and things like that but if the tent is set up properly and it's tight it won't leak. If it's not tight the rain will gather in the seams and eventually yeah it's going to leak through. The waterproof floor goes up about 6 or 8 inches on all sides so as long as it's a straight down slope and not allowed to collect anywhere the rain won't get in. One thing I noticed a lot of people didn't mention was the back wall of the tent is one solid screen. There's no zip up window or any way ... MoreI got the 8 person Carlsbad as well as the 4 person. One thing I noticed a lot of people didn't mention was the back wall of the tent is one solid screen. There's no zip up window or any way to close it if it's super windy out. So in order to block anything out from that giant screen you would be having to put the rain fly on no matter what. It didn't bother me but I could see a lot of people going what the heck why can't I close this? It's pretty dark in there especially when you have the rain fly on in the mornings. I don't know I like it. Of course I'm pretty easy to please. I just don't know what's going on with the rain fly rod. So unless I can find a substitute it's going to just lay on there. Walmart, you know, they don't know anything. If you guys have any suggestions about that let me know. Thanks!
Used this tent twice and it was awful.First trip we found it let too much sun in. Especially for QLD sun2nd (and last) trip camping in Caloundra. The rain poured for 2 hours and it leak through the seams of the front door and the side window. Slept with wet bedding and feet for the night.Would honestly not recommend this. The front entrance also only has mesh so you walk out in a puddle of water. Will be returning this ASAP
