Cluedo - Classic Mystery Game

I haven’t played Clue since I was a kid, but it was one of my absolute favorite games. I love mysteries and that started at an early age. This game requires some guesswork and imagination, which I think is great and separates it from a lot of “standard†games that were out during that time. I have to admit that I don’t know what’s available now, so I’m sure this probably isn’t very exciting in 2022, but it was something different before video games/electronics and the hoards of games available now. I thought the movie was cute too.

1. The game came in a sturdy box. It was packaged well for transport and the gameboard is very sturdy and heavy enough it lies completely flat and stable when opened. Rare these days. 2. The tokens, cards, and dice nice quality and should last with a lot of use. 3. The rule of play is much simpler than classic clue had while kids growing up (still have that game) but wanted a new one for grandkids. -comes with "clue cards" where people have to put card down in front of them for all to see or some such action that is a free show of cards which takes out a big chunk of difficulty. Since for young grandkids who have never played and who are not the crazy competitive family my children, my mother and myself were, I'll survive...for now. Both die have the magnifying glass emblem on 1 square that allows for picking a clue card and if roll 2, then can pick up 2 clue cards. But if decide not using them, the magnifying glass can count as a 1. **only reason taking time to write this review is that I was totally in awe at the amazing quality of this game for such a low price. Higher priced games don't have as good of quality. Great buy if want a gentler game. Great buy if a merciless grandma who plays to compete and win since the rules and cards that make this game easier don't have to be used to play.

I love this game. I played this growing up and still as an adult. There are lots of different rooms, people and weapons and the goal is to narrow down each category down to 1...The person responsible for the murder, The weapon that they used and finally the room in the house where it happened. Really great game that involves a lot of thinking and strategy. I would highly recommend this game. There is not really anything I would change about it.

Reviewing for the Classic game- This is a perfect, inexpensive, detective, board game that brings our family together, and we all couldn't have a better time. We start playing and the next thing we know, a few hours have passed. Best for ages 8+, because it does require strategy, a decent amount of thought processing, and competition. We haven't played the updated version because our classic edition is still in great shape, but I heard a few things are different and somewhat easier to play. At any rate, the gist of the game is still the same, and I highly recommend. ** Have a wonderful time making memories if you end up purchasing! 😁

I have loved this board game since I was a little girl. It is what led to my love of murder mystery novels and movies. Was it Miss Scarlet in the Library with the Candlestick? It's wonderful how it makes you use your mind to deduce the answers from the clues that you are given. I have had so many versions of the game over the years, from the simple children's version, to the standard version, to the electronic version to the luxury version. It is not only a great way to spend a family game night but it's excellent for a party game night with friends, cocktails and snacks. My favorite board game ever.

We love that it has a two player version now as well, allowing us to play even when it’s just the two of us, or using this feature to play as teams! The new clue cards provide a great twist, though you can forgo them if you prefer to play a more classic game. The game board itself is quite thick and sturdy, and everything looks exactly as pictured. The instruction book is clearly written and while the cluedo and bonus cards are quite flexible already, we did laminate them for longevity. Clue is my favorite game! I loved it as a child, so I’m excited I can play it with my kids. It’s great mystery and fun! The pictures on the game board are very impressive with great detail, even the weapons. Although the rope is cheaply made where it’s not made out of the same material as everything else. Also the board gets creased easily after you fold it and unfold it so many times. This game is easy to grasp and fun for all ages that can read. It’s a family favorite! We even have the app where we can play the game together that way. ♥️ #alwaysafavorite

The Clue Board game is simply must. Let me repeat its a "staple" to every families game set especially at times like this where we are at home. The game is a classic. If you're unfamiliar with game play its still easy enough to dive into and follow the instructions as you go. I've owned a set for over 2 years and the cards have quite of bit of wear so I recommend card sleeves. Also the game pieces (ie weapons) are very small so I don't recommend playing on thick carpet. You'll want to keep a zip lock bag for storing everything afterwards. There is one consumable with this game which is a small sheet of paper for each player to track their investigation. We experimented with 2 players but 3 or more is better. As an adult I still enjoy playing the game. It has gotten more interesting we've become more experienced and attempt to be more competitive. I hope you give it a try if you have not tried.

They've added some new cards and rules that are supposedly "optional" but it seems like the game is really designed for you to use them.Those new rules drastically increase the influence of luck and chance in the game, while also speeding it up. No doubt that speed was the reason they came up with this idea because the original game, with nothing but gradual revelations of clues, takes much longer. This version basically dumps clues in your lap much faster than if you were just methodically playing the old way.We tried it once with the new rules and it was basically just okay.
