Clinique Superdefense Night Recovery Moisturizer - 50ml / Combination Oily/Oily

This is my daily facial moisturizer and I apply it twice a day after I wash my face with my Clinique face wash. For many years (6?) it served me well and is worth the price because a little goes a long way. I recently moved (only 20 minutes away) and my skin is now dryer than it was in my old house. I do credit some of this to adopting a good skin regimen when I was in my early/mid-twenties and this Clinique line was a great find for me with my aging/oily/sensitive skin. I'm sadly feeling a little lost that I can no longer count on it as my sole facial moisturizer : (

A little goes a long way

I have combination skin with slightly dry cheeks. I only use a very small amount and is spreads really well across my face and neck. I previously noticed that I wake up with a slightly oily T zone on more humid days (I'm in KZN), so I applied a smaller amount of the product in that area. My skin still feels moisturized and not tight, so I would definitely recommend this.

Dissatisfaction Alround

I’m a keen Clinique user and this is the first of their products I feel really let me down. After moisturising the cream joins together leaving little lumps on your face. The more it is rubbed the more it comes off, so as you put your face on your pillow it gets worse. The texture is lovely, it is unscented but has a calm smell. The texture is thick and creamy.

Great moisturiser especially for the winter!

The first time I applied this moisturiser, I could feel that it was doing its work already and could feel the difference on the skin of my face. It has a lovely texture and does not contain any fragrance, so it is ideal for people like me who have allergies and sensitive skin. While it is not oily or sticky to the touch, it has a slightly sticky feel once you apply it that is similar to when you remove a face mask (just not as wet and moist, of course!). It is moisturising and a product I would buy again.

Horrid texture.

I have dry skin and chose dry/combination. The texture of this is almost chalky - that's honestly the best way I can describe it. It's thick but as soon as I put it on it's almost as if I'm rubbing powder on my face. It doesn't feel like it's nourishing my skin and I can feel it clumping in my eyebrows. It's really unpleasant and I don't wake up feeling nourished at all. 3 weeks later I've nearly finished the pot because I felt I needed a lot of the product to properly cover my face and I'd never repurchase. Horrid product - wonder if my product was a bad batch?

Incredible very dry skin

My face feels incredible each morning.I really notice a difference if a go a while without using it now. My skin is soft and glowy, the only moisturiser I have found that works on my super dry face.

Nice, I’ll Use The Rest

Lovely cool and smooth texture. Applies easily and does not irritate the skin. However the smell of the moisturiser is medium strength strong and quite chemical. Some people might like this. I haven’t used it long enough to tell you if it makes me look 124 years younger.

Smooth Operator

This fragrance free cream has a silky smooth texture. It is white in colour and absorbs quickly into the skin. It’s very fussy to how much you put on as any extra and it dries as little bits on your skin. I would not recommend this.

The best product I've ever used on my skin

I was recommended this by the Clinique counter. I can not believe how good this is! My skin is sensitive, oily/dry combo and from the moment I put this on at night I can feel it working its magic. It feels instantly soothing and each morning when I wake my skin is clear and glowing with no lines. I have the dry/dry combo version and find it perfect for night time use

I purchased this alongside the day cream having previously used redness solutions. Now change between the day cream and DD moisturiser. I have what can be dry eczema prone skin - it can also be well behaved! I never write reviews but felt compelled after seeing other limited reviews. I love this cream, I find my skin feels nourished and silky smooth after using this cream. It makes my skin feel so nice and supple. A little goes a long way and this is very smooth to apply. The tub lasted me for ages - 6 months at a guess. I wouldn't be without it now. I literally went out and repurchased the day it ran out. I haven't experienced any smell as such it's just neutral which for me suits perfectly due to my dry sensitive skin. Great product.
