Gig Bars are like marmite!! Many are not impressed with these but personally I have found them to be brilliant! I have separate moving heads so this version of the Gig bar meets my needs. Its great for small gigs or house parties but can also hold its own in a large venue as part of a larger set up...whats not to like! The built in programme are great and good to use with the foot controller for ease of control. If you are looking for a quick and easy light set up then this is what you are looking for.

Out of the box, this fixture has all that a starting/rookie mobile DJ needs for lights. Good area of coverage and set up and tear down is a snap! Sound mode is quite accurate, but it responds only to the thump of the bass. If there is a quiet portion of a song without bass for a decent amount of time, the fixture will go dark. Auto mode cycles through its different scenes and does a decent job at it. Additional fixtures add to its coverage area and master/slave mode is on point with their timed sync, be it to sound or auto. The fixture can be used with a DMX controller as well. It has in/out DMX connections in the back. It also has a power outlet for daisy chaining fixtures. The extra outlet is also very useful if you are using a wireless transmitter and receiver ... The extra outlet is also very useful if you are using a wireless transmitter and receiver (for instance Donner dongles) in lieu of an actual DMX cable. I use the fixture power outlet for my Donners. I am not well versed in DMX so, my fixtures only run on auto or sound mode. The IR remote: Very handy when you want to change scenes. The fixture has IR sensors both in front and back, so control via remote is easy and responsive. I haven't tested out distance, because mine are typically set up on my left and right, slightly in front or behind me. The foot pedal isn't as easy to use. With the IR remote, you know what scene you will be using by the mere press of a button. The pedal is lackluster in that area, because you have no idea what scene you are on due to the fact that there is no indicator to tell you otherwise. Unless you have the modes memorized, you will be pressing on the pedal of your choice until you get the right scene you want. The only good use of the pedals is black out mode. Besides that I use the IR remote for everything else. All in all, a great way to get started in the world of DJ lighting. I am going to start using DMX on these, as I really want to use it to its full potential. For those wanting a quick and easy set up for lights, this is the way to go!

Overall:I suffered with the tripod adding lights and screwing and unscrewing before and after events. Plus cable management is a pain no more how u try but with this Gigbar 2 everything was perfect. Simply plug and my play. It was the talk of my most recent gig. Plan to order another soon.

Excellent product delivered next day in time for New Year’s Eve gig despite postal issues at the time. Tracking of product also top drawer GigBar versatile with automatic sequences ideal for early evening Dj session. Sound active put into action at 10pm laser must be aimed carefully onto ceilings as spread is fairly wide. Ideal product for small venue but can be used in bigger venues as supplement toie moving heads
As an aging DJ who works alone, I found setting up a cross bar and several lights to be very time consuming and even with using short kettle leads and distribution blocks, the cabling always looked messy. The Chauvet Gig bar 2.0 has solved this problem for me, it takes very little time to set up and in my case shaved a good 20 minutes off my setup & pack down times for a similar set of lights. Just one IEC to plug in so no messy cables, making it a great purchase for new Dj's who are looking to provide a half way decent light show and for those who want to get in and out of a venue a little quicker. The cases are fully moulded around the lights so they are fully supported during transit and are solid enough to take a few knocks
We had been looking to add some light and color to our nighttime gigs. We are not overly complex and wanted to have something could easily adjust to a variety of venues, was easy to pack, and easy to operate during the show as we don't have dedicated folks to help us out. The setup works great, is easy to pack and move in and out after the show is done. Got lots of positive comments from folks during the show. And if we expand our lighting at some point we can add on to this unit as well
The product works great and each of the features is simple to use. The foot switch is easy to use for basic functions. If you plan to do single colors at a time from each fixture, it is easier to control with the handheld remote which has buttons for each color. The footswitch requires multiple taps of the color button for single color use. The automatic feature is ok but naturally is random, we find it works best to use the auto sound feature and then single up on color with the remote if desired, it'll still do music response.More importantly, we bought this at Sam Ash days before a gig. The microphone for sound response didn't work properly on the one we purchased. The people at the store spent a great deal of time trying to help us remedy the problem. In the ... Love this light - has everything you need for a mobile party. comes with a light stand, wireless remote and foot pedals. there is a key for the laser, this has to be in for the laser to work. strong stand and over 2m in height - easy to adjust the pars and the derby's to cover the room.really nice case for the light as well, hard foam padding.quick next day delivery and outstanding service from djkit
I purchased this fixture based on my observations at a gig that I was assisting at. The Gigbar is great if you don't have much time to set up and need a quick all-in-one product for your lighting. They are also a great solution if you don't have much space to set up in, providing a number of effects in a small foot-print. I really can't fault this product, there are a number of programme options available allowing you to pick and choose which effects you want to use, from everything to a single effect. The addition of UV to the V2.0 is nice, giving that little extra effect available. Probably suitable for smaller to medium size venues. The remote control is great meaning less cabling and again, time saved. The bag supplied is a very snug fit for the gigbar meaning ... Another benefit is the stand that is supplied. This extends to approximately 2.5m high and gets your fixture up in the air allow you to light down on to the dancefloor. I really can't find fault with this fixture. Small, versatile and time saving - what more could a mobile DJ ask for. Recommended.
This is simply the best option when it comes to DJ lighting! I purchased two of these two replace my own makeshift setup with a few pars and a few gobos, and this saves my about 45 minutes of setup time every event, looks significantly better, and has more features than I could ever put together on my own. And it's a fraction of the price! I highly recommend controlling the lights via DMX as the footswitch doesn't give you as much control as one would expect. This is especially important when slow dance songs are played throughout the evening to avoid having the lights flashing with strobes while the couples are enjoying a romantic moment. All-in-all, I cannot recommend these enough (especially a pair of them). Fantastic product!
