Cetaphil Healing Ointment | 12 oz | For Dry, Chapped, Irritated Skin

Cetaphil has scored big with this product! Yes it is sort of glorified Petroleum jelly as some reviews mention but it’s more than that. It’s a balanced mix of occlusives, natural butters and beeswax which provide the moisturizing factor. I like using this on dry winter days. It makes my skin soft and healthy looking. It doesn’t give that oily sheen that PJ gives. It’s not as thick as PJelly - when applied it gives a dry matte finish. I don’t use it on my face or neck as it caused breakouts on my facial skin. The only minus points are that a lot of ointment is needed for one use and it is quite pricey, given that it’s mostly PJelly. I got it on sale and with coupon, for $9.99. I’m big into making sure my skin is hydrated both day and night, however night is especially important since you lose about 40% of skin moisture while you sleep. I’m a fan of K Beauty and the techniques they use to get “Glass Skin” One of them being something calling Slugging, slugging is basically apply Vaseline aka Petroleum jelly over your night cream to create a barrier and lock in moisture. first of all, I was shocked to receive such a large quantity. super amazing. especially considering that a little really does go a LONG way. secondly, its unscented, which isn't REAL important to me but I know it is for others. Absolutely perfect!

This creamy ointment feels so much better than vaseline! It has been great for my feet and lips at night. I also like to slug my face with a thin layer of this before I go to sleep to make sure that my skin remains moisturized all night long. It is a bit greasy so in the morning I wipe it off with a towel or tissue. After a few weeks of doing this my middle aged face looks younger and has a glow during the day. In case you are wondering what slugging is, slugging is the final step in your nighttime skin-care routine where you apply a petroleum-based occlusive over your skin to seal in the products while you sleep. This ointment also has vitamin e and shea butter in it. Please Cetaphil do not discontinue this, or reformulate. Thank you!

Amazing healing for extremely dry cracked skin!

I used to use plain old Vaseline for my extremely dry skin. I mean my skin was so dry that I developed deep cracks that would bleed and were SO painful! The Vaseline was OK I guess, but it did nothing to actually moisturize my skin and it always left a thick yucky residue all over me. This product however, is a game changer! It moisturized and healed my dry cracked skin within days! And it left no sticky residue!! Definitely recommend!!

Can't make up my mind.....

Bought this because I wanted to try something a bit lighter than what I've been using (which is indeed rather thick). It IS a bit less heavy and goes on just a tad easier. BUT --- it is basically the same, thus I have to use just a small amount and then spread to smooth it into my legs, etc. Doesn't have an odor, which I appreciate. It does moisturize my extremely dry skin. But still not sure if it's a better alternative or not. Will continue using it for another week or so, and then decide.

Just like Aquafor

My hands get so very dry in the winter. Then I pick at the dry skin and make a mess of my hands. It’s very painful. I’ve tried other products like Vaseline and Aquafor. This is a great size as I can throw it in my purse. It works just as well as the more expensive brand. It is a bit greasy just like other products but this time of year it’s what my skin needs. It does absorb well and I do recommend it

I don’t know why it has the seal for the national eczema association because it doesn’t do anything for eczema. Please also note that it is petroleum jelly it is not a lotion at all it does have some other in active ingredients in it like Shea butter and wax and vitamin E I don’t know why they’re listed as in active ingredients but it’s really no different than petroleum jelly. I guess I’m going to have to spend the money to get the Cetaphil Lotion for eczema that is very expensive. The best

Love it. Unscented, so im not sure if the people saying it smells got a bad batch or something... i put lotion on first, or curels shower lotion, and then the ointment. All over my knees, hips, elbows, arms. My face. I have dry sensitive skin that breaks out easy. Oily in the summers. Flakey and mad in the winter. This has been a great addition for me. Helped my hands too. They are dry from chores and constantly washing my hands.
