This is the first wrist watch I have bought in over 15 years. I wanted to start wearing a watch again, and decided I would start with something I would use for work everyday. I knew I wanted something rugged so a Casio G-Shock was a must. I had been out of the game so long, that I had no idea I was getting the bonus of Bluetooth connectivity with this GWB5600CD1A2. It makes changing options so easy from my phone. The Charles Darwin collaboration is something that gave it a little extra flair that I liked. The tough solar recharging has been excellent. I have owned this watch since the beginning of 2024, and I have been very happy with it. A pleasure to use and wear as an everyday work watch.

Brilliant and I love it. I had a gshock before with the standard screen and I would say that the inverted screen is more difficult to read especially in low light. Other than that it’s brilliant. I added a third party deployant clasp and it’s so close to perfect and I would recommend to anyone. I love gshock products anyway.

A little hard to read, but that's on me, I knew what I was getting into when I bought a negative display. Other than that it's such a great watch. Bluetooth setup and sync is easy and an excellent feature. Will be keeping an eye out for more of these. Please, G-Shock make a full on retro 5000 with these features!
For me, this is the ideal G-Shock Square. Its light, tough and offers Bluetooth with an app that helps set alarms, the auto light functionality, time zones etc, as well as multi-band 6 radio signal time keeping. The composite link bracelet is light and comfortable. For me, the positive display is the icing on this particular cake. Ive had the negative display and it didnt offer the all light levels clarity that this model does. Im also not fussed on the newer positive display Darwin GW-B5600CDs party piece of Galapagos species appearing when the backlight is in, so this is the one for me. I dont get why Casio dont offer more positive non-novelty displays in this range.
I already have an old G Shock Protector and hoped this Yellow version was going to be a suitable upgrade. The watch is great to look at, but sadly misses the point of being a watch as the display is so dim that I cannot be read immediately. I either have to use my other hand to press the illuminator button or turn the watch to a different light angle. So its back to my 6 yr old G Shock, it is scratched and tatty but does tell me the time at a glance.
Ordered a G-Shock solar (first one, getting fed up of winding and setting time/date on all my mechanicals) 14:30hrs and received the watch next day. Great service, kept fully updated throughout the process by email from clicking buy to having the watch on wrist. Good price when compared to other retailers online and in store. Will certainly look here for my next watch.
I am writing this as a long time fan of Casio G-Shock squares and I have to say that this GWB5600 models underwhelms. The two previous models (GWB5600SL-4 and SL-5) are more interesting with their colorway and are still available (even at 1/2 price). The lack of writing on the face is ruined with Bluetooth writing and that feature is also a deal breaker for those of us who want privacy. Casio, namely, wants pretty much to index your phone and access everything on it in order to allow user to update the watch's time via Bluetooth, and that not acceptable. On the plus side, it's light, it has better screen than GWM6510 models and if you are familiar with G-Squares, then this one will be easy to get to know.
