There is a facility to locate a nearby phone by activating the phone ringtone using a button push on the watch. Additionally a single button push can get a phone to log a specific position with date and time for later review. The polished operating buttons are larger than on standard models but are adequately protected from accidental operation by the case panels. Bracelet adjustment is facilitated by the use of small spring pins between the links, with four point micro adjustment at the clasp.While you could buy a plastic version of this watch including all the functionality for a lot less money, the display would be less sharp and the feel on the wrist somewhat less comfortable. Bracelet watches are a lot easier to put on and take off than strap watches. If the clasp should come undone for some reason, a bracelet ensures the watch still remains on your wrist.Is it worth paying all that extra money? The answer is definitely yes. The overall level of finishing and quality of the components raises this watch model from something you wouldn’t care about losing to a classic and very robust timepiece that should last for decades of daily wear. The steel case and strap may pick up dents and scratches over the years but this will only add to the unique character of the watch.This watch is essentially flawless. Set and forget pretty much forever and the watch will keep perfect time. What more do you want from a watch?

A bit of a let-down

MRGB5000R is one of the MRG G-Shock squares that has been long awaited, i.e., the one with a rubber strap. And what a disappointment that strap contraption is. The strap can be only made to fit by shortening it (i.e., cutting piece of it off). If you make a mistake and accidentally shorten it too much, there is not way to fix it but to buy a new strap that costs about US$300. Casio did include a cool clasp, which is very precise, solid, and nicely finished, but that clasp and that strap don't belong on this watch. If anything they should have introduced a standard, classic, two-piece strap with a Titanium hardware (buckle) in the same color as the case, and made of the same cool rubber compound as the existing strap, and they'd have a winner. Currently, the quartz module still doesn't show the level of charge and one has to use a - rather buggy - Bluetooth connection and phone app to get that level of detail. Solar powered G-shocks that have traditionally relied on radio signal for time synchronization have been turned into extensions of your cell phone, which is really not desirable and goes against ethos of G-shock range. In the end, the only really cool parts of this watch are the case, bezel and crystal. They are well made and beautifully finished, the level of detail is very nice too. Yet at US$3.1K one would expect MUCH, MUCH MORE than just a cool case/bezel.

Beautifully finished with brushing and

Beautifully finished with brushing and high polishing seems a little contradictory for a G Shock. But once you see it in the metal and feel the weight it just makes sense. I’m definitely going to wear it and not baby it. Any scars it pick up will just look right at home. The negative display seems much more legible than other models of G Shock I’ve had with this style of display.The only tiny grip is that this model does show the battery level on the display. It will alert you if it’s low but to see the actual level you have to use the app. But this is nit picking as my othe tough solar model once if got them fully charged they never drop below high on the level meter.

Casio Artistic Urban Limited Classic Masterpiece At Its Best

Casio has created a Masterpiece in every aspect of this watch including packaging. I honestly do not understand why it is still available since it is so limited. This is a solid choice with all the watch functions needed. Solid Build, Hefty Weight, Perfect Size, Artistic Retro Flair With An Urban Edge, Extremely Limited And All The Functions Needed! Perfect Choice For All Everyday Watch Needs. Do not pass this one up before it is gone.

Extremely Poor Quality

I have recently purchased GMWB5000MB and was very excited to receive my first G-Shock. However, this turned out to be a complete disappointment.I have only worn this watch on a very few occasions and have not done any physical activities while wearing the watch. The watch has never been dropped or hit anything. I have been extremely careful with the watch, but it already has big scratches on the mineral glass.Frankly, I don't even understand why a $600 price point watch would have mineral glass versus sapphire. I am completely disappointed in the quality of this $600 watch.

Great heft and balance of bracelet

Overall I like the watch. Practically was a fan of the square series and was pleasantly surprised by the stainless steel variant. A little disappointed in the black finish of the steel bracelet as it will show white specs when scratched, which are distracting. Relatively easy to size the bracelet and remove links. The negative display is hard to get used to at first but it is another drawback of this watch. Legibility is not great compared to normal display esp at angles. Bluetooth and multiband 6 function as advertised.

I have worn the GMW5610-01 for years and was ready for an upgrade. I knew the quality would be excellent. My one concern was that the other times I've worn a watch with a metal bracelet, they've pulled the hair on my arms. I'd heard that was less likely to happen with a more expensive, higher quality watch. I'm thrilled to say that is exactly the case. This watch has not pulled my hair at all. The only other issue was adjusting the size of the watch, but a local jeweler showed me how to do it and I was able to buy the tool online and fine tune adjust it myself. Outstanding watch.

Nothing like it in the world 💖

This is probably the most expensive watch I have ever owned which shows how much I fell in love with this one.Wow. This has the circuit pattern OF THE ACTUAL WATCH engraved on the casing, the way the watch is pure quality with it the flashiness of a high end watch, and there is nothing absolutely nothing as amazing as this Nippon Steel Titanium around my wrist. I don't like metal bands normally but this is sooooooI have A LOT of Casio (okay some other brands too, but I grew up with Casio) and this by far takes me to a special place.Note the LCD does not have the little bell indicator I just love for chimes. But it does have the classic gshock alarm indicator and dot for the chime. That is important to some of us that grew up with that 💖

As for the service from Francis and Gaye, I am very happy the watch arrived well packaged and on time.As for the watch. It is hands down my favourite. I have circa 35 watches from Casio digital to Omega and usually when I buy a new watch I wear it for a few days then in the watch box it goes. Not with this. I was worried it would be underwhelming, especially as I have a number of g-shocks that cost a third of this. Boy was I wrong! In the week I have had this I haven’t taken it off once, in the flesh it is miles ahead of the cheaper resin g shocks. A must buy for g shock fan boys!
