Burt's Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream

I absolutely love this hand cream, it’s so thick and silky it feels really luxurious. I suffer with really dry skin on my hands, they are so rough and scratchy it’s horrible, I can’t touch my face without scratching it. My daughter got me some of this as she had the lip balm and loves it. Literally the next day I noticed a difference and as long as I keep using it the improvements are amazing, no more scratchy hands. I put it on at bedtime and also I like to put it on in the morning, occasionally if I’ve had to use sanitizer a lot I’ll use the cream in the day too but if you make the effort you get the results, it’s that simple.

I love Burts Bee I have used their bodycare since they launched! They are super affordable and have a awesome quality. Shea Butter is one of my favorite ingredients. It is super moisturizing which my hands need especially I the winter time. They keep my hands super soft and hydrating. It keeps my hands from cracking and they are so soft a healthy. I love this hand cream and I highly recommend them!

Amazing Moisturizer but REEKS OF LAVENDER

Dear Burt's Bees:Please do everyone a favor and rename this product "Lavender + Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream with Extra Lavender Fragrance for People Who Love the Smell of a Lot of Lavender Emanating from their Hands".I have tried a LOT of natural hand creams and this by far one of the best. It is VERY emollient. It is quite thick, has a dark yellow color, and takes a bit of work to squeeze out of the tube. It absorbs into the skin, but only after a few minutes. I appreciate that the tube has a flip cap, and not a screw-on cap. Those are very difficult to use, and I like to put some hand cream on in the car while at a stoplight. The little screw-on caps take a long time to put back on and tend to fall on the floor or in between the seats. Not great when the light turns green...Unfortunately, this cream has an overpowering lavender scent that is not mentioned anywhere on the packaging or here on the website in the product description. I am a man and would prefer an unscented version of this product or something that smells a little (lot) more masculine. There must be a lot of other stinky smells in this formulation, because it seems they use a LOT of lavender fragrance (is this nautral?) to mask the other smells. I will try to use this a few times and see if I can get used to the heavy fragrance, otherwise I will have to send it back. Five stars for the excellent product effectiveness and one star for the overpowering lavender scent.

Good for Jobs that Require Frequent Handwashing

I love this cream and use it especially in winter to keep my hands from getting too dry. Nothing has compared, so it's worth buying over and over.When I worked as a server, I had to wash my hands constantly throughout a shift. Whatever commercial soap I used at the restaurants dried my hands out a lot. Each time my hands would get really dry and it bothered me. That's what initially made me seek out a different type of lotion/cream. After bussing tables, running back and forth to the dish room, and serving guests, I was washing/rinsing my hands about 10-15 times during a double shift. This is the only cream that kept my hands moisturized throughout it all. So it's definitely true when people say that the cream is tough to wash off. However, if you have a job like mine, you may need this.One dislike: the actual packaging. Sometimes it's tough to get the cream out, so I would squeeze hard and the Seams on the side of the cream would burst. The texture of the cream tends to be too hard or too soft depending on how you store it. I usually have to keep this cream in a zip loc bag that sits inside my purse or when I travel so it doesn't spill all over my things. Also the sesame scent is very powerful! So if you do not like sesame oil, this may not be the cream for you.

Great for Overnight Use

I initially didn't like this hand cream because it is quite thick and is difficult to get out of the tube and takes a bit of effort to get it to absorb into the skin. It also has a very strong patchouli scent. Over time I have come to love this hand cream and use it mainly last thing at night. I have become accustomed to the scent which I quite like now, and although it takes a bit of effort to get it to absorb, it does an excellent job of rehydrating and healing my dry winter hands. I would prefer a lighter hand cream for daytime use, but for overnight use, I think it's an excellent product.

Not what I expected from the cream in a tube

Very very thick consistency. I need apply a lot of pressure and all my strength to get the cream from the tube. If it’s kind of the ointment for working hands, I would expect it to be sold in jars of some sort. Highly recommend, really.The smell is too strange, so I have had to check the expiry date I am not able to find, which is strange. I think that 99% natural products should have an expiry date. After reading the reviews I got that it’s “normal”. Before that I planned to return it to the store. I wish I bought the lavender one. It is the best, I love it.

Shea Butter Hand Repair

I have been using the Shea Butter Hand Repair since I discovered it about ten years ago and have not found anything work as well as this. If I ran out I would try other things but nothing worked as well. It keeps my nails from being brittle and cracking. The smell is different but it's fine with me as it's not a chemical. Love it!

Smell is toxic

Wanted to love this product I scanned through the ingredient list before purchasing, however all seemed well until I actually used it and the smell was so strong it made it very unbearable. I then took a closer look and seen the ingredient "parfum" is listed somewhere in the middle, I googled this to see what this was and it's actually an ingredient that has thousands of chemicals to smell pleasant for products. Was not expecting this from a brand that markets itself as Clean. Very disappointed especially considering the cost which I quite steep for a small drugmart product

Terrific for rough hands & smell dissipates :)

I purchased this in a grocery store, can no longer find it, so came here to see if it was still made. I saw the reviews carrying on about the smell and thought I had a duty to speak up!I'm very sensitive to smells and this hand cream does have a strong smell, kind of along the line of patchouli or a muscle rub, the former which I love and the latter which I hate. That said, the smell does not last long and the real question is how badly do you want heal your hands? While my own get rough enough, my significant other's hands, whose hands get like sandpaper from working on mechanical things and being outdoors a lot, had amazing improvement after just one application. While it's thick and heavy, if you just keep rubbing it in for a couple of minutes it absorbs into the skin very well.Bottom line: There are lots of girly smelling, lighter hand lotions on the market that are good for a couple of hours and don't make much of difference in terms of healing. I don't want to keep re-applying lotion all day long and this product could heal the hands of an auto mechanic and even stands up to one or two hand washings after application! If your hands are cracked and dry and you want to heal them, I highly recommend this stuff, smell notwithstanding (and you may even like it, lol).

Works well, smells horrid

The good: it is moisturizing. Between the cold weather and my incessant use of hand sanitizer, my hands were looking and feeling a little rough. I was gifted this cream and decided to give it a try. My hands are better for having used it.The bad: It smells horrid to me. I’m not even sure what the scent is - really strong lavender and…camphor? Anyhow, after a few uses on my hands I’ve decided to only use it on my feet at night. I wash my hands thoroughly after applying. Once I’ve used this up, I’ll not use it again.
