I love this hand-held version of the P—Touch Labeler from Brother! Its easy to assemble. The battery life is long lasting. I really enjoy the fact that it can fit in my back pocket while I’m walking around labeling the shelves in our storage room at work. Think I prefer this model over the bigger model they offer simply because it produces the same quality of work with a device that’s half the size!

I have finally experienced what it must been like for cavemen discovering fire for the first time. After using a manual labeller for years this is a revelation.Only drawback is the amount of wasted tape due to where the cartridge sits in the machine. Not great if you are buying full price branded cartridges. But you don’t have to look far to find a more economically viable source of cartridges.

I bought this for home use - to try to make some sense of the nest of cables behind various TVs/AV equipment, and also to simply label a load of boxes in the garage. This model is aimed at electricians, so it has some nice features like 'cable wraps' (where the text is repeated around the label) and 'cable flags' (where the text is repeated, so the sticker can be folded around the cable leaving a 'flag' with the wording on both sides). This works well. Normal labels work OK. My only criticism is the amount of tape wasted - there are options to reduce the margin around the text, and also options to print multiple labels without 'cutting' between each one, which means you waste less as the machine needs to feed some blank label after each cut. Even with these options, there's still a lot of tape that simply gets cut off and thrown away - probably about 30mm each side of a 'print' - so if printing small, single labels I often throw away more than I use. That said, compatible ribbons are readily available which are significantly cheaper than the branded Brother ones, so I'll look at these when the included ribbon runs out.

This is a great portable "industrial" label maker that produces professionally looking labels. I often install computer and A/V networks. This label maker is perfect for labeling face plates and in the communications rack. It is also great for labeling special cables for computers, audio and video. It is also especially useful to label parts storage cabinets to quickly find which of the 42 drawers contains your Forstner bits. In fact, this label maker works so well that two of my clients decided to purchase one for their own offices. The label maker is sturdy, and it can be used in a dusty environment since the keypad is sealed. Personally, I prefer this model with my own NiMH batteries over the more expensive model with Li-ion rechargeable batteries. This was a 'treat' for myself. It was for a basic labelling system for my small workshop to help to organise the contents. I previously used simple stickers and hand wrote them out. This machine does away with that and produces neat, readable text in a small, neater, space. I've no issues with any aspect of it it so far. It produces the labels quickly and cleanly (and silently if that's a requirement) and the printing quality has good contrast, so easily readable. There is a basic menu of pre-loaded printing sizes and styles, and a menu for setting parameters for sizes etc. There's also a set of basic characters - punctuation, bullets, mathematical symbols, currencies, electrical and datacom symbols - and a small selection of graphics for common uses. It can print ... MoreThis was a 'treat' for myself. It was for a basic labelling system for my small workshop to help to organise the contents. It can print smaller on two lines if required. It's fairly easy to use straight out of the box as the menu etc. is quite intuitive, especially if you're familiar with a PC or tablet etc. There's a leaflet with further instructions and functions if needed. All in all, it provides a good set of basics for most printing purposes and that's all I needed. I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability and reliability but judging from other reviews I've read, this doesn't appear to be an issue.
Confused on using 12mm 3 lines.I have tried using the smallest font and changing the spacing but I am not able to get more than 2 lines.Tried different configurations ... The whole point of getting this instead of a Handheld Label Maker PT-H110 was the ability to print on 3 lines. Please assist
Seems to be a pretty good & robust little label printer. I purchased this to replace an existing faulty Brother printer that didn’t last very long. Compared to my original faulty printer, it seems to be better designed for site work together with the included case for protection etc. Added advantage with this version is the included power supply unit. Save on Batts, and flat batts on a cold morning. Many more options for printed labels specific for labelling cables Dis boards etc. So far seems pretty good value, time will tell.
These are initial impressions: All the literature in the box in so many languages was scant and unhelpful. I registered the product online with ease, but the Brother website was unable to connect me to the Download Manual link. I did find this very quickly via a straight Google search. I printed out the 17 page download and cheerfully altered the "Printed in China" caption to "Printed in My Den."The manual is clear and helpful throughout, providing all the necessary information. It's a lovely machine to use. The cassette loads easily and everything is easy to learn. I was soon printing out good labels galore. The only thing I haven't beaten yet is label length, so I guess the length and check via preview always before printing. I was soon printing out good labels galore. The only thing I haven't beaten yet is label length, so I guess the length and check via preview always before printing. In "Auto" and "Faceplate" I never got any message of character "Overspill" etc. Instead, the machine seems to reduce the character size to fit label length, this to a inappropriate size for labeling. So that Preview Button is very important. In every other aspect, I love this machine, especially the comprehensive range of characters and styles. I am also glad I bought the machine with supplied AC adaptor. The carry case could have been much better design for the packing of the cable and spare cassettes carried better.I like my purchase very much and hope it will give many years of good service.
Positives:1 - Quick and easy to use.2 - The labels it produces are clear and without any blemishes.3 - It has lots of different options so that you can customise the label how you want.4 - Keyboard and buttons seem to be made of a decent quality rubber that is hard wearing.Negatives:1 - Label refilles are very expensive (I recommend buying decent quality unbranded ones off of shamazon)2 - It seems to waste the labels as it leaves a large margin from the end to where it begins printing (This cannot be fully adjusted in the software)Conclusion:Slightly overpriced and seems to be designed to be a bit wasteful (Unusable margins). But it does the job very well.
For the price this labeller is great value. It does everything a handyman like me needs. The huge library of symbols and flexible text options allow me to create labels for every purpose. Professional electricians will need the more sophisticated labellers but this, being both battery- and mains-powered, does a great job, and with a huge range of laminated labels.
