You can survive weeks without food, I believe two days or so without water. Most of us in the US and other developed nations take this for granted. Yet we are lucky, and even more so if we have this Brita Space Saving Water Filter. It’s a great product, that removes necessary out the sink chlorine and other chemicals, to produce the most delicious, fresh cup of water you’ve ever had. This can hold up to six cups at one time. After exercising or just reading a book, this time delay is worth it. You’ll have a tasty refreshing serving of water. I’ve used water from this in the coffee maker, and it’s made the java taste more refined. The cost for this was around $20. Filters are $3-$4, and I think about once a year is all they need to be changed out. It’s a easy process that will take you a minute. These filters are sold at a lot of in store shops, or through online retailers. There’s a red light on the top, which will indicate when you need to do this. Right now it’s green, so will just enjoy this from the fridge later tonight.

Disappointed, Filter doesn't not fit, water seeps through and does not get filtered

Wow, extremely disappointed. Just got this water dispenser home and started setting it up, only to find that the filter does not fit very well into the dispenser - there is no clicking in, or turning it to fit snug. It seems they just expect you to place it into the dipenser and push down. Unforuntely, I noticed as I was pouring water into the top basin, and the water came gushing into the bottom pitcher, much faster than I would have expected for water that was supposed to be being "filtered" and low and behold, no matter how hard I pushed the filter down into the hole its supposed to sit in, I could see small gaps between the filter and the dispenser, which was letting non-filtered water into the basin area where only FILTERED WATER is supposed to be. I was wary ... MoreWow, extremely disappointed. I was wary buying this item due to all the "Influenster" reviews it had since that feels very icky to me, like they are not genuine reviews on the water pitcher. Very unhappy and will be returning. Buyer beware of reviews that are gathered from promotion etc

Good buy

I actually have the grey version of this. If you have a smaller fridge, you will have rearange your shelves to fit this in.I had thought it would hold as much water as it is big and you could fill it like that if you hold the water resivuor up over the container and don't leave it in the container.Otherwise you're only gonna get to fill this thing half full at best.Dispenses water slowly so if you're using this to purify all the water you use instead of going with a spiket filter, you're going to standing and filling for a min.I'm glad I went with this. Living in an older apartment I didn't want to get something that attached to the spiket (due to weight on the spiket).Using this for all my water needs, drinking, cooking. That's a little over 2$ for each additional in the six pack. A bettet deal if you can afford it.

I genuinely recommend this to friends

Purchased this last month after having a long stint of buying bottlewater through van and from another store. Spent lot of money on packaged water and the taste used to vary everytime. Finally decided to buy Brita 27 cup model that came with a default ultra filter and followed instructions to soak and dispense first couple of rounds of tank upon full pitch and then Oh.. Yes.. It did a great job. The city water that smells odd and feels like chlorine when taken from tap is ultimately turned to pure water in a way now that its doing its job as promised and when I did a water strip testing , it does make the water little soft too adding to our craving to sip more and more. Thank you for the genuine stuff that is liked by all family members now and we are sticking to ... MorePurchased this last month after having a long stint of buying bottlewater through van and from another store. The plastic BPM quality is good and all parts work great. As an average customer who looks for all sorts of betterments on such products, I genuinely recommend this to friends

Lye an Layers whose Panzon Fire

This product does not come with two filters, even though that's the only reason to buy it. The exact same item with only one filter sells for $1.00 less, but you see this listing and you think, "Might as well get an extra filter, I'll be set for the next 12 months". So you hit the add to cart button and buy it, only to open the bright blue box and find out that they lied, you only get one lonely filter. Now I feel bad that I fell for it. Always hoping for that break, hoping I'd luck into something a little extra, one more filter so that I can filter the water, the very source of life, that I drink. But this too is for the good. It is not an obstacle, it is a test to make me stronger to pursue the purpose of my creation. To do the will of my creator.

Missing second filter included in the Ad.

I've had a Britta filter for eight years - time for an upgrade.SO DISAPPOINTED WALMART!While I know I'm going to love the upgrade (why five stars), the add says TWO filters, but only one was included. I paid the premium amount for this ($49.98), the package had only one.I encourage anyone considering a water filter system, Britta with the six month (blue) filters is great.... So many benefits, including no plastic bottles with savings utilizing tap water.I love carbonated water, so I have a SodaStream as well. SodaStream offers many options for flavors (i.e., coke, diet coke, lemon, etc) which are great options too.

Much more convenient to use than the 6 cup model. Get this...

For years, I used the smaller 6 cup Brita water filter. It was not convenient to fill it up each time because you could only pour enough water to fill a third or a fourth of the pitcher, then you'd have to WAIT for that water to filter down before you could do it again. After awhile, I noticed I didn't use the pitcher very much, sometimes for weeks. With the 18 cup dispenser, you can actually pour quite a bit of water into the container each time. You still have to wait for the water to trickle through the filter, but you don't have to repeat the process everyday. If you live alone like me, 18 cups can last you a few days. The other convenient thing about this filter is that you don't have to buy new filter size cartridges. As a result, I'm drinking more water and my coffee and tea always tastes better with filtered water. The only con I think of is the price tag, about $30 to $40, but because you don't need to buy bottled water now so often, the savings will add up over time. Also, as long as you have the cartridges, all you need is water. In this way, you save the landfills from getting more bottles.

No more water bottles

I started filtering my tap water instead of buying bottles and jugs weekly. It’s getting expensive and you can’t always find water lately. The water bottles are just filling up our landfills so I thought I’d give this a try. This fits in the fridge perfectly. The water definitely needs to be cold to completely get rid of the public water taste. I filtered water through my Britta and filled my water cooler, it took 3 containers. I’m also using it for my keurig and my coffee and tea tastes so much better. I hope it lasts because it’s pricey. It does come with a filter and i have no idea what the cost will be to replace it.

Ultramax water dispenser leaks

After having this filter dispenser for only six weeks I noticed water in the refrigerator. I thought the shelf inside the refrigerator door was touching the dispenser when the door was closed. So, I pushed the dispenser to the back of the refrigerator. The dispenser was still leaking. Water covered the whole shelf. Took the dispenser out of the refrigerator and put it on the kitchen counter, with a towel under it. Still leaking. I noticed, that the leak was in the spout. Right where the water comes out. In a week, I need to change the filter for the first time. I don't think I want to buy a new filter for a leaking dispenser. I am tired of cleaning up water. I loved the idea of this dispenser. Water quality did not meet my expectations/needs

Unfortunately, I had to return my dispenser. Perhaps Brita make good products but I'm sorry this didn't match my needs and expectations:I live in an area with very good water quality that is not considered hard. I filled the dispenser and tasted the water. It tasted a little off compared to the bottled "purified" water that I normally buy. I thought I'd get by. When I tasted more of the water the next morning, it reeked of chlorine. My ultimate test for good quality water is to make tea or coffee with it. The color and taste of coffee and tea matter to me aside from regular drinking, making shakes, etc. (may not matter so much when cooking). The bright and clear reddish color of freshly brewed tea is very telling! If your water is not pure enough, you'll get a ... MoreUnfortunately, I had to return my dispenser. The bright and clear reddish color of freshly brewed tea is very telling! If your water is not pure enough, you'll get a unnaturally dark/black color with a nasty film on top that clings to your China cup (Tea drinkers will know about this). Also, water must smell and taste good at *room temperature*. You shouldn't have to conceal the nasty taste by icing it.I thought perhaps filtering a little water at a time (as needed) may be the solution but that's not practical. Every time I want to make a couple of cups of tea or coffee, etc. I'd have to wait for it to filter and that doesn't make sense.I was looking forward to getting rid of the burden of buying and hauling gallon water bottles but it didn't work out.
