Brita 35501 Pitcher Replacement Filter

I have been using this filter for years and have never had any issues with it! Once you replace it initially, the water will filter with a black dust-like substance, but it will clear out after 4-5 filtering cycles. The water tastes normal. The package says the filter has to be replaced every 2 months. My only wish is that it lasted longer.

Brita filtered water delivers tasty water

I purchased my Brita about 3 months ago and I had ran out of bottled water and pulled my Brita out instead of racing to the store for more bottled water. I had gotten so tired of running to store to purchase bottled water. I’m now glad I ran out of Bottled water. My Brita have great taste and impurities are reduced, and I’m glad I’m not a slave to bottled water ANYMORE.

I have been purchasing and using a Brita water filter for years it’s very easy to use open the package put under cold water and count to 15 like one Mississippi to Mississippi. That’s what I do then you put the filter in your brita and fill it 3 different times every time. Make sure you empty the water the fourth batch of water you can drink always taste great. The water is clear and has no smell to it and does filter out other contaminants that is located on the package.

Can’t Get Rid of Used Filters

The only channel to recycle used filters is Brita’s partner, TeraCycle. I just learned that there’s a several-month waiting list to join their recycling program. I have a stockpile of a dozen of these filters. I will wait, but, I suspect there are tons of these filters going to landfills. May be better to jus drink the tap water.

DOES NOT FIT SNUGLY IN OUR 15 YEAR OLD PITCHER.

I have a standard Brita filter pitcher, model %23 1229.09. That had been in storage at the cabin for about 15 years. I pulled it out of storage to use it and ordered the latest basic Brita filters to replace the old one in the pitcher.Brita has changed the design of the basic filter. It no longer fits snugly in our pitcher like the old filters did. When you tilt the pitcher to empty it completely. The filter falls out of place. I am currently corresponding with Brita to see what they will do to remedy the issue.

Has Brita filters been changed?

We would like to know if anything concerning your standard (Model OB03) water filters has changed. We have been using you filters for years even though our town's central water system improved and monitored by the EPA is doing well.We could easily use one of your filters for at least 2 months without any problems. Now we are lucky to get a month or less out of one.Our supply water has 0% of arsenic, iron and other minerals and our usage is normally 6 8 oz cups per day that we filter. It seems the price of your filters has increased but the quality has decreased. If we are doing something wrong please let us know as we strictly follow the directions of install for the filters.Thank you for your consideration.

I’m sold on Brita and won’t buy bottled water!

I'm not working for Brita, but I have used a Brita Filter for years.Before taking the time to write this, I did a little research and learned that 8.8 million metric tons of plastic waste enters the ocean from coastal communities each year (Wikipedia: Plastic Pollution). That's a lot of plastic being thrown into our oceans.Furthermore, "The chemical structure of most plastics renders them resistant to many natural processes of degradation..."Wherever I go, plastic bottles containing drinking water abound; "For sale" in grocery stores, drug stores, big box stores, sports events, movie theatres, etc.My question to you: instead of buying bottles of water, why not buy a filtration system of your own and fill your own drinking containers? Just okay

I know these are the name brand. But even after following all directions with these replacement filters, I still was not fully satisfied with the filter quality. I had also purchased the Target brand of this filter, which I definitely prefered. The Target brand did a much better job and was so much cheaper. Don't waste your money.

Love my Brita pitcher and filter

I have had my pitcher for several years. This is the second one I've gotten. It uses the filters I can buy at my local grocery store and the same filter fits both pitchers. I don't like the taste of the plastic I get when I buy bottled water so the dog gets that water and I wash and reuse the bottles with my filtered water. It's the only water I drink. Someday I'll get a bottle that I can use with my filtered water as I don't drink tap water. I totally love my old pitcher and my new pitcher that tells me when it's time to change the filter as well as the Brita filters I use.

Please Redesign the pitcher

Better design is a must, and I say this as a product designer. The filter is half under filtered water. Unless you remove the filter and do not let the water sit with the filter half submerged, the water will pick up contaminants . The filter needs to be above the water levelTerracycle does not seem to be taking new recycling at the moment- what’s up with that?
