We purchased the sounder to replace a 4 year old Bose Lifestyle 650 system that started having audio problems. We also added the sub woofer and rear channel speakers at the same time to duplicate what we had with the Lifestyle. The components are controlled with the Bose Music app. After all pieces were added to the app, you can control every individual speaker. Like a lot of bass, turn it up and make your floors rattle. Too much, adjust it down. Increase the volume of your rear surround speakers to catch all the action. This concept really makes a lot more sense than having everything included in one system. One conponent fails, just replace the it and the rest continue to work. When we bought the Lifestyle back in 2019, we purchased a warranty from Bestbuy. After contacting Bestbuy with our problem, we were credited back our entire purchase price of the system. Will this happen in every case, I can't say. We were issued BB gift cards with which we purchase the replacement Bose system components. Oh, and we also purchased another 4 year warranty on each piece. It's fairly early days on our new purchases, but based on present performance, I would definitely recommend the purchase of these pieces if you really enjoy having great sound both on regular tv, but all the great content from streaming sources.

Ok so I have a 700- Soundbar. Nice but my LG TV has a better sound. So I decided to kick this up and add a base speaker. First the bass speaker is more than the soundbar. So not wanting to drop a ton of money I took a shot at an open box item for around $200 off new, I selected the excellent quality. It came in the origiunal box and packaging and not a scratch on it. Only thing missing was the paper work but I double checked and you still get the factor warranty if you need it.Now about the bass. Let me say I was not blown away based on the price point of this unit. I wasn't even sure it was working after I set it up. I was expecting more out of the unit. I'm assuming that who ever bought/returned this was maybe thinking the same. aftr messing with it for about an ... MoreOk so I have a 700- Soundbar. Nice but my LG TV has a better sound. The bass is subtle but you can hear it and it does make a difference. Back on TV it is ver light but there is an audible difference when you turn the bass off an on.I don't think it is worth the 800 price tag and if I wasnt already invested in this soundbar, then I would not have gotten this. If you can get an open box and save some money it maybe a better deal for you and therefore would recomment at that price point. The total sound with the soundbar and the bass makes a difference, but it is not like my old Sony 5.1 but the sound is different like it fills the room.

Awesome addition to my Soudtouch 300 soundbar and surround speakers.Bought this after a lot of thought and waiting, and I am not disappointed at all.The setup is real easy, took me less than 10mins to open the box and get it going. This module produces really loud bass and goes down pretty low in frequencies. Initially I thought this was just doing a 20Hz min (based on a YouTube video test), but then when watching "The Bad Batch" on Disney+, it made the wall tremor (as I could hear the trembling of stuff in the wall shelf) when the sound was not noticed that much, so yeah it does go below the normal hearing range, which is awesome. When it is in play, you really cannot say if the bass was from the module or did it come from the soundbar or the surround speakers. ... MoreAwesome addition to my Soudtouch 300 soundbar and surround speakers.Bought this after a lot of thought and waiting, and I am not disappointed at all.The setup is real easy, took me less than 10mins to open the box and get it going. This module produces really loud bass and goes down pretty low in frequencies. This is an excellent subwoofer and the frequency response is great. It goes all the way down to 25 Hz with no problem. You can hear 20 Hz but it is the beginning about the human ear can hear so it’s not seem as loud, but can you can certainly feel it and the room rattles. The 900 sound bar and the 700 subwoofer make an excellent home theater system and well shape the house. I have the bass set at about 2/3 and it is plenty strong. When watching movies or TV shows with the volume up, it will shake the house. It does the same on Music. There are many songs in the 70s and 80s that I did not realize that had low frequency bass that dipped down very low. I would not buy again. I am a Bose customer for over 30 years. Years ago I started with the acoustimass 5 speakers, and the 901 Black Lacquer speaker, and continued with Bose purchases ever since. That being said, my purchase of the Soundbar 900 with Bass Module 700 is a giant disappointment. The soundbar goes offline a couple times each day. I have to unplug it from the wall socket to reset it. not an easy task since my outlet is recessed behind my wall mounted tv. The bigger disappointment is the bass module. The module makes a popping sound as if the speaker is busted. The thing that attracted me most to this combo was for the wireless bass module connection aesthetics. The bass module is not near my wireless router, as was a recommended fix from Bose. The other fix was to connect the module to the soundbar wired, which defeats my purpose of the purchase. Best Buy service techs explained to me that there have been several complaints concerning this very issue. Highly disappointed. I would not recommend. Find a more reliable unit.
Like many reviews and folks all over the web there has been frustration with popping noises and baffling because of wireless interference. I spent hours in research and on the phone with Bose to no avail. Bose only recommends moving the sub away from other wireless devices. It didn’t help. Finally my fix was to reduce interference on my wifi router by changing the frequency on the 5GHz band that my soundbar was connected to. By default this band was set to 80 MHz because this promises greater throughput. I switched it to 40 MHz following a writeup by Intel to reduce interference. Sure enough the popping is gone. Clean bass sounds and I’m finally in love with the sounds of movies. Hope this helps others.
I have purchased the Bose 500 (two of them) and 900 sound bars, 500 & 700 subwoofers and 500 & 700 surrounds. The sound quality is superb. Exquisite even. Now the downsides. These don’t play well with TVs. I couldn’t get the TV remotes to turn the volume up on the Bose soundbar. With EARC you can have devices communicate things like volume and on/off signals to all devices. Bose is EARC “compatible” Not at all. I purchased 3 different brand high quality TVs just to get these sound bars to work. Really. I literally went through three brand new TVs so I could keep the Bose products. I connected directly to the TVs with a few different quality HDMI cables. I even had geek squad out and they were baffled.I use an Apple TV and I couldn’t get that remote to work with the Bose stuff either. I had to use the infrared on my Apple Remote to finally get the soundbar to work. Ya like 60 year old technology. So because the soundbar is under the TV and on a high TV entertainment unit I have to have direct line of sight between the remote and soundbar. This means my arm must go way up in the air to change the volume every time. It’s even more fun laying on the couch. The TV and Apple Remote are set up for Bluetooth. Beautiful. No more aiming at the tv. Till Bose. It sucks.Same thing for my Bose 500 in the bedroom on a smaller tv. HDMI won’t even work with the sound bar for sound. I have to use another old technology. Optical cable. It works but just barely.Oh yes and on both systems the updates are horrible. They get stuck all the time updating. Days stuck on the update. Meanwhile I can’t use any app features like dialogue mode. Then I have to play a game to get them unstuck. This usually results in having to reconnect the subwoofer and surrounds which is a huge pain. Oh and sometime it deletes the IQ feature which takes a bunch of time to set up too. I can spend an hour resetting things up because of updates. One last thing about their proprietary products. These can not be used with any other products. I went to use my 500 subwoofer in my office for my computer and it doesn’t use a normal input. So I put it back in the bedroom. It made me realize that someday when the soundbar dies I will be unable to make use of the sub and surround speakers. To have a soundbar go out and have the rest of the working speakers be unable to work is a waste of money.Buy Sonos instead. I’m going to switch to them on my next purchase. The sound quality of Bose isn’t worth the nightmare.

I love the glass tops of both and with the 700 sub’s and either surround speaker types, the 700 or 900 is stunning in sound quality.I have played a bunch of movies with Atmos and both sound just about identical, that’s how good the 700 is even without Atmos.I highly recommend Bose to all, you do get what you pay for.
I bought the Bose bass module 700 with the smart soundbar 900, and while it sounds awesome, there is one major issue that prevents me from recommending this wireless bass module. One major requirement of a smart soundbar is that it can connect to a Wi-Fi signal. While that it is indeed a feature of Bose smart soundbars, it doesn't work well with whatever proprietary method they are using to transmit a wireless signal from the soundbar to the bass module. The problem is that the Wi-Fi signal causes interference that manifests as a popping sound in the bass module. While that it is indeed a feature of Bose smart soundbars, it doesn't work well with whatever proprietary method they are using to transmit a wireless signal from the soundbar to the bass module. The problem is that the Wi-Fi signal causes interference that manifests as a popping sound in the bass module. Needless to say, it sounds terrible and completely ruins the experience of watching television. The "solution" in this case is to disable the Wi-Fi connection in the soundbar, which effectively converts an expensive smart soundbar into a severely overpriced dumb soundbar. What's more is that most of the settings for the soundbar are only accessible via a mobile application that connects... wait for it... via Wi-Fi. That means every time I want to make an adjustment, I have to grab the remote and enable the Wi-Fi, grab my phone and open the app, navigate to the soundbar in the app, change the intended settings, and then grab the remote again to disable the Wi-Fi. That is what I would could a very poor user experience.Alternatively this interference issue can be eliminated by connecting the smartbar to the bass module with a cable. They do offer a cable of course, but you have to purchase it separately, and at this price point I am loath to hand over more money when the cable should have been included with the bass module to begin with.
