Blue Yeti USB Microphone (Blackout)

I was trying to find a microphone with great quality at a reasonable price. When I read reviews online I found out that Yeti is the way to go. The problem is there's no one selling Yeti here in Indonesia, which is where I currently reside. Even if they do sell one the price has been marked up by almost 200%! So I tried finding online stores overseas that sell the mic at its original price and could ship to Indonesia. Luckily, B&H delivers. I did not regret my purchase one bit. The whole ordering process was seamless and the shipping journey is updated real-time. The whole process from ordering, shipping from US and arriving in Indonesia only takes about 2 weeks, which is crazy fast! The whole process from ordering, shipping from US and arriving in Indonesia only takes about 2 weeks, which is crazy fast! As for the microphone, the sound is absolutely clear with every little detail picked up, and it even has different types of modes to choose from (for podcast, game streaming, singing, conference call, and many more). I usually use it for conference call for work as well as recording just for hobby. Though I should've gotten the kit as well, but overall still absolutely worth the purchase!

This is not a flimsy plastic microphone. It comes on a sturdy metal desk stand; alternately, you can remove it from the stand and screw it onto a professional mike stand. It has excellent voice quality. I followed through with a recommendation to get a "pop filter" (a nylon screen that hooks over the front of the mike on a metal cable) to reduce the explosive sound of "P's" and "B's" when talking close to the mike. The version I got screws onto the desk stand or can be attached on the shaft of a mike stand. Note that it has a "mute" switch on the front, and that it has an earphone jack so you can listen to the mike directly. I recommend you buy a USB to Mini-USB cable (note: NOT Micro-USB or Type C USB) from eBay, since these are not commonly available except in ... MoreThis is not a flimsy plastic microphone. You have several choices for the mike's pattern; I recommend the cardioid pattern, but you can try the stereo version for picking u p two different people talking.

No issues with audio quality for this microphone, but it broke after less than a year due to flimsy, poorly designed connector. It's kind of my own fault--I accidentally bumped it off a desk. However, the microphone and stand are very heavily weighted (perhaps to give the illusion of quality), and this microphone uses an extremely old USB connector type that is prone to stress failures. One little jerk of the cord was all it took to bend/snap the fragile connector pins in the body of the microphone. Game over. After doing some research online I discovered, too late, that damage to this port is so common that there are many forum threads about it, and even shops that replace this specific port on this specific microphone -- for nearly the cost of a new one, of ... MoreNo issues with audio quality for this microphone, but it broke after less than a year due to flimsy, poorly designed connector. After doing some research online I discovered, too late, that damage to this port is so common that there are many forum threads about it, and even shops that replace this specific port on this specific microphone -- for nearly the cost of a new one, of course. On most forums, they'll just recommend that you purchase a better-designed microphone. Very disappointed that such an expensive microphone uses such old, flimsy technology. If you have already purchased this unit, recommend adding additional reinforcement to the port. If you haven't, save your money for something that's actually sturdy instead of something that just looks sturdy.
