The stellar techs at The Dashcam Store helped me pick out this camera for my 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. The cameras are compact and they basically blend right in (I don’t even notice it any more). I had a local shop hardwired them to my vehicle. The front camera was installed just below the driver’s side sun visor, rear camera was installed to the middle of the headliner. Both front and rear cameras are easy to use, they provides great play back and clear images. I also most recently picked up the LTE Module to accompany the dash cam, as well as the cloud services. The LET Module assists with the ease of operation and playback. I’m still learning how to use the app so the jury is still out on this aspect of the whole set up. CONS would be the white light on the rear ... MoreThe stellar techs at The Dashcam Store helped me pick out this camera for my 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. Simple fix was just to apply a small piece of tape over the light while I'm out in the wild.I am very thankful I found The Dashcam Store and value their assistance. This is an all-around great camera system for a 1st time dash cam owner/operator.

My dash cam is great. Was a bit hard to connect in the beginning but once connected it is easy to use and great. However, when it detects you are parked, it will speak and say in parking mode, and when you come back it’ll say parking mode off, then tells you if something was detected (for example if you car was hit). However, it says that from things just as little as you shutting your car door. It is a little too sensitive. But I guess it needs to be for any kinds of hits to your car.

I purchased the DR970X Plus when my old BlackVue stopped working. This was an easy upgrade as the power cable, rear camera cable, and rear camera were all the same. I’ve chosen to stick with BlackVue because of their cloud integration, and I’m activating LTE in my dash cam for the first time to be able to get alerts wherever I am. I had a bit of concern once my dash cam was installed due to the GPS not working. Luke and Michael at BlackBoxMyCar walked me through various troubleshooting steps, and ultimately BlackVue updated their firmware that solved the issue. My next step is to purchase a BlackVue B-130X battery in the coming days so I can complete the package.

Bought a DR970X for my wife's car quite an improvement over my DR650GW with pairing and viewing videos directly from the camera. It seems to work well with the Blackvue mobile app compared to the DR650. I bought both from Blackbox and it was a seamless process. I would not buy from any other retailer, they know their products and it shows with them being in business for so long. As for Blackvue, solid product I have had my DR650 for at least 8 years in two different cars and it still works well.
Having had a single channel security camera in my C300 I wanted extra extra protection in my Mustang GT. I've invested a moderate amount of time and money into this car after getting it from the factory and wanted to make sure it was protected front and back. While the security camera doesn't prevent other people from doing stupid things it does give you piece of mind that when someone does something stupid you will have proof to hand to the police. One feature I really like is the ability to have it connect to the cloud when it's parked in my garage. Someone opens my garage door and it starts shooting that right to the cloud. Very nifty. If only LTE wasn't so expensive in Canada I'd get a data only LTE plan just for this and push everything to the cloud. One thing ... MoreHaving had a single channel security camera in my C300 I wanted extra extra protection in my Mustang GT. I have parking mode turned ON (motion and impact sensor) for an hour after parking and set my Voltage threshold to 12v. It has warned me a few times that it was approaching and so turns the camera off. Just something to think about. You've already spend several hundred dollars whats $500 more :)
I had a 750S-2Ch with a B-124X battery pack before this and the cam died within 4 years. The rear cam gave out first 3 months ago, eventually the main unit died starting 2024. New SD card and new firmware couldn’t save it either. I have a 900S -2Ch in a different car with a B-124X as well and the rear cam is already showing artifacts with 2 years of use. Negative notes aside, I do love how sleek these dashcams look and the app isn’t too bad but there is definitely a learning curve on both Android and IOS. Can be a bit buggy too. Time will tell how the 970X-2CH holds up but hope I can get 5+ years of use, if not I will finally switch brands and hope for the best. 970X camera quality is awesome and noticeably better than the 750S. My B-124X is still going strong on both cars and no issues pairing it with the 970X. If you plan on upgrading from an older BlackVue cam, the power cable may need to swapped to the one provided with the 970X. The rear cam cable didn’t need to be changed either.
Since I've started to commute again, I really wanted to have a Dash Cam installed. Their website was helpful to evaluate what kind of models/setup would make sense for our needs. I was super impressed with how streamlined the installation is in our vehicle too; the cables aren't visible whatsoever and each camera is mounted sturdily both front and rear. The BlackVue app has a lot of the same features and functionality as our smart home security (detection events are broadcast, recording logs, plus easy to use and understand).Within the first month we had a few close calls in traffic and I immediately felt reassured by our purchasing decision. Inevitably things happen, to us or other motorists, and I have more peace of mind knowing that whatever might happen out ... MoreSince I've started to commute again, I really wanted to have a Dash Cam installed. Pretty much everything I expected was taken care of. The only fly in the ointment was placing the rear view camera smack bang in the middle of the line of sight view of the road as seen in the rear view mirror. The store has agreed to relocate it thru an appointment as they have to get a replacement pad to affix the camera base (they don't keep my Blackvue model in stock and therefore have to get the part in). It's a good camera though but does take a bit of familiarisation to get the best out of it!Aside from the placement of the rear camera all other aspects of the fitting were excellent. The assessment points below are confined to the fitting of the dash cam, not the cameras.
I purchased this to replace my previous 7-year-old BlackVue camera. The construction feels rugged and well built, and I was able to reuse most of my old hardwire set-up for this camera so installation was quick and easy. It actually took me far longer to loosen the adhesive enough to remove the old camera from the glass than the time it took me to install and set up the new one.Once running, I'm impressed by the image quality and clarity of this new model. Plates and details are fairly crisp even at night. It's probably a good idea to upgrade the SD card to a larger size though as the included SD card will only store about 3 days worth of combined driving and parking mode footage at the highest quality for me.Unlike my old camera where it was possible to adjust ... MoreI purchased this to replace my previous 7-year-old BlackVue camera. That's about the only gripe I have and personally it's not enough for me to take off a star, although I wish they would restore the ability for the user to adjust clip length in the future.
Now that I've finally got the Blackvue DR970X-Box 2-Ch Plus all set up, I am liking it more and more. This is my first dashcam, and the Blackvue instructions were a bit confusing to me at first. But the Dashcam Store support was very helpful to understand how it all works together. The SOS button was not included in the box I received, but they sent me one at no additional charge once I called in and asked about it. Everything is working well now, and videos are very clear.
