I did expect the leather to be a bit softer, as these are a higher price than other versions. I think you are just paying for the weathered, natural look. The leather is stiff and may cause blisters until they are broken in.

The leather naturally fades with the weather and wear, and they gain the appearance that only a well faded pair of 501s can match.I keet two pairs constantly on the go. One newish pair for a slightly more formal occasion; a well worn and faded pair for the beach and sundowner beers.Birkenstocks: forever stylish and cool. Fortunately for me, every few years I become trendy again without even trying.

Nice sandals but unfortunately Office do not specify the width required. I was sent a narrow fit sandal but there was no way of saying what I wanted, which was a wide fit. So they had to be returned. Bad website management? I bought a pair about 18 months ago, and again, no width specified. I got lucky with those and was sent a wide fitting. Weird.

These are go to sandals that provide great comfort and support. The leather soles are breathable and the cork provides some cushion. The shape of the sandal supports the foot and seems to help with a number of foot issues. The leather straps are also comfortable and breathable. The Birkenstock Arizona is a go to for our family for decades. Still an excellent sandal and great to use indoors in the winter when doing housework or cooking and standing for long periods. Have not found anything better and while we don't use these exclusively, they are used daily. Suggest following Birkenstock's instructions about wearing times initially and don't overdo that. Would highly recommend this sandal.
Lovely comfortable slide. I ordered a 39 which is my usual size even though reviews said to order down a size. That never works for me as I have wide feet. However I did need smaller size as there was too much room at the back, so had to order second pair. Couldn't get the Mocca so ended up with Black which are probably nicer anyway. So far very comfy and look nice.
The Arizona Leather Birks (size 44) were just exactly what I expected. I just wish they were not so expensive, but quality is rarely inexpensive. Since I lead with my heel when walking, in 6 months the cork is showing. A local cobbler used to half-resole my birks for $60.00 but would always warn against wearing them when the cork appeared in the heels. The present cobbler charges over $100.00 for a full new sole (and some cork repair). The German Birk-makers would do me a great favor if they would find a way to toughen the heel portion of the sole.
I used to love these sandals, and a pair would normally last for several years under normal wear during the summer months. My last two pairs have only lasted me one season, with the footbed coming apart from the sole, along with one of the straps completely coming off on the outside. So disappointing because they've always been my go-to sandal. Quality of these has gone down significantly over the years.
Using these as my house slippers. The previous ones I had (also Birks) disintegrated after many years of use. I was so happy with them that I decided to get Birks again.The sippers are unmatched in quality (made in Germany, duh!) and are super comfortable. Note that there's about a week long break-in period and they will not feel great at first, so just be cognizant of that. One week later and they fit like a glove. Make sure you use the size chart provided on the Birkenstock website and actually take the time to measure your feet properly - it'll go a long way in making sure you'll be satisfied with them for many years to come.
I usually buy wide softbed Arizonas. They seem great at first, but the leather gets soooo wide that they end up being sloppy and extra wide. LLBean is correct to label these as 'normal' width, because they are normal, even if listed as 'narrow' by Birkenstock. I have a normal to wide foot and like a spacious toebox, and these feel just terrific, snug right now, but I am sure they will be loose-ish later because the leather gives. I like the classic footbed as well and don't think I'll go with the soft footbed anymore. The classic feels nice. It's not squishy like the soft footbed, but I think after feeling classic that I don't really like squishy. These are solid and comfortable.
These are exactly as pictured, dark brown coloured Birks. I had initially purchased a Birko-flor and returned for the leather. The colour is darker than I wanted but the leather looked like it would wear better/last longer. True to size, I usually size up to a 40 for my wider foot but fit a 39 as the sandal accommodates a wide foot. My foot is able to fit in a 40 narrow and I currently have this non-narrow sandal on the second to smallest notch and may still need to tighten it for a better fit. I’ve worn it a few times so far and not sure if it needs to be broken in. I would not say they are super comfortable but I’m assuming they will be over time.
