We received this product to review. We have a four year old daughter and she was thrilled! It took about an hour to build but was relatively straightforward. It's good quality (for brightly coloured plastic) and has a lot of accessories / features such as lights and music. It takes 3AA batteries.On the downside it's massive, taller than our daughter and takes up a chunk of space in her room. For the price I'd expect at least one Barbie doll to be included and I'd say there are better value options on the market if you aren't already into the Barbie options. But.. our daughter loves it

This is the second time I have assembled a Barbie DreamHouse, as my oldest child had one of the earlier models when she was younger. I chose this product for my son, who is 4. I thought the first one was easy to assemble and well made but this one exceeded my expectations! I had a little difficulty in reading some pieces and had to rotate it until light hit off it just right as the letter/number was just slightly raised on the part and the same color as each piece.The parts were all very well-made, solid and sturdy.Let me just say I love how Mattel BarbieDream house parts just "snap" together easily and flawlessly, no tools needed, especially this one. I actually enjoyed putting it together! I'd say it took maybe an hour and half total to put this together by myself with my 11 year old helping me with apply some of the stickers. I had some Barbie items in the past that incorporated cardboard into the piece but I was glad to find none of that here!The DreamHouse is three stories total. The first floor has openings all around for a true 360 degree play. I was a little confused at first that right inside the front door there is a large opening to the right where you need to place the included couch and the back door only has one piece to the sliding doors so it is a very open layout but I now understand it is for the 360 play and works! The second story has the bedroom, bathroom and balcony area where the swing attaches (but I found that the swing can actually be attached to two other areas - one on the first floor and one on the top floor). I love the bright yellow swing feature! The bedroom area is awesome - it includes a bed that is attached to the wall and folds up (top bunk), a bed that actually is placed under it and has genius grooves to keep it in place and a flat, smaller (trundle-like cot) that pushes under the lower "bunk". And Mattel includes 3 comforters/blankets - 2 plush ones (purple and pink) and a thin floral one! There is also a closet area that has a full-length mirror. The shower has a movable shower head and a button to press to play water/shower sounds! The only thing I didn't like about the second floor was the shower door as I feel it could be better made to fit in the groove. The door was solid but you had to slide the top left peg into the top hole and the bottom one into the bottom left hole. The bottom peg is slightly shorter than the top and comes out of the hole easily. I felt if it would be a bit longer like the top one it would be more secure and the door wouldn't come unattached so easily. The toilet opens and has a button that plays a flushing noise. The top floor has a "dance party" area and terrace. It's really neat that the included fake turf and pool can each be inserted into the rectangular terrace area individually to mix it up! The pool also slides under a groove on the first floor area right off the main living space.What this had that our previous Barbie DreamHouse did not have is the lights and music features. It takes 3 AA batteries in a compartment in the back of the house which I installed after building the house. I was happy to see it had a switch to allow you to turn it off completely or turn it to two different sound levels of your choosing. In the kitchen, there are 4 buttons to utilize - one that has a sun on it and plays "outdoorsy" pleasant music/sounds and turns the light in the kitchen, the one in the shower and the big dance floor room's rectangular music "light-up screen thing" a yellow/orange/green prism color; one that has a cresent moon and stars that plays night time sounds/music and lights all the previously mentioned areas up blue; one with a music note that plays dance music and makes all the lights flash in rhythm; and finally just a light button that you can keep pressing and it changes to an array of different colors of your choice. The music and lights are pretty fantastic. Also there is an elevator that I must say is way better designed than our previous DreamHouse which I had to actually buy parts for and replace not long after buying. This one has a lock that secures and is large and open at the top so you can fit say a Barbie wheelchair or multiple Barbies on it and a button you have to engage to slide the elevator on the track to go from one floor to the next. Our other one had a pulley system that broke but this one just travels up the grooves and locks on each floor which I feel will provide longevity. My 4 year old doesn't quite understand how to engage the button as he moves the elevator up or down but thats OK. Last thing I want to mention is that they give you a ton of accessories - a table and chairs, a sofa, a bench, the previously mentioned beds, covers, swing, fake turf rectangle and pool, bathroom rug and supplies (2 toothbrushes, bodywash, cup, a cute hippo soap dispenser, bathroom towel, etc), a grill, an entertainment stand with TV, shelf and fireplace sticker on one side and a pet bed/house area and shelves on the other side, and a ton of smaller pieces like food, dishes, cutlery, a pet pool, slide and floaties and 3 pets and pet supplies. Oh and there is a large, pink slide that can be placed on multiple areas on the second floor! I've had some issues with some of the stickers (the stove ones to be exact) aren't sticking well and I have to keep smoothing them back down.Overall I'd say that this Barbie DreamHouse is well-made, multifunctional and just a blast to play with. It has so many great features that I think my son will enjoy playing with it for years. He loves it! Thank you so much Mattel for your dedication to quality and innovation. And thank you for making and giving me such a well-made toy in exchange for a review especially at a time where it can be quite difficult finding quality toys!

To start off I will say that watching an assembly video on YouTube really helped with putting it together. It seemed a little intricate at first but as we went along it got better. You do have to have a steady hand to put the decals/stickers in place. You do need 3 AA batteries for the music/lights. Once it was assembled I couldn’t get over the fact with all the details it has. I’m really amazed of the size of this dream house. It is the coolest dream house ever, even I love it! My daughter loves her dream house! We didn’t have any missing parts not sure if it was because it was a curbside order but I am so happy as this was my daughter’s birthday gift.

absolutely adorable dream house!! it was so easy to put together my 5 yr old loves helping me snap the pieces in, put the stickers on and putting up the adorable accessories!! the music has 2 different volumes which is awesome! the lights are adorable as is the music!! my daughter and I stayed up till 3 am playing with it and spending quality time together!!! she absolutely loved her big Christmas gift!! my 5 yr old is short but this dream house is so tall and huge she was shocked at how much taller it is than she is!! overall 10/10 it's very durable and there's so much you can add and do to it!! highly recommend definitely worth the money!

It also came with a cat and dog and various items for them. WOW! This is definitely a “wow” item! The New Barbie Dreamhouse Dollhouse has it all! From the pool/slide to the moving elevator, to the fabulous lights and sounds, it is a well thought out product! This is definitely a “wow” item! The New Barbie Dreamhouse Dollhouse has it all! From the pool/slide to the moving elevator, to the fabulous lights and sounds, it is a well thought out product! Barbie and friends can actually go down the slide and land in the pool, this cause many giggles!3. The elevator really stops at all three floors.6. We really liked that there were shower/toilet/cooking sounds and used them over and over.7. There are plenty of beds for many sleep overs.8. Loved the play grass and extra blankets and rugs9. The pet area is adorable10. LOVED the indents in table so that the tiny pieces stay put! And the added touch of hand soap dispenser, and shampoo bottles very cute.CON’S1. The bed that should fit under the bottom bunk arrived warped and bent so that it didn’t slide easily under the bunk bed.(I’ll post in pictures)2. While using the elevator, the refrigerator door CANNOT be open or it will stop the elevator’s progress. Frustrating for smaller kids.(Will post in pictures)3. The large “walls” or furniture that is supposed to be able to move around for customization we found we would rather it was permanently attached, maybe just add a turning possibility so that either side of the piece could be turned to imagine that scene. We couldn’t find a spot where we really liked these pieces and wanted it already attached.4. We found a piece that we CANNOT figure out what it’s for! (Will post in pictures)5. Did not like that the disco “ball” was not a full ball, only one sided.All in all we LOVED the new Barbie Dreamhouse, it has all the bells and whistles and kept us immersed in fun play for hours. The video instructions were easily available and the instructions on paper were in the box, not hard to put together. The stickers were numbered very easy to find their spots. We were very pleased with this Barbie dream house.
My children absolutely love this fantastic dolls house and if you have the budget I would definitely recommend it. First of all it is very large so you do need to have room for it but it's size does mean that you can fit lots of dolls in it so it does allow for lots of imaginative play scenarios with all the different areas. My four year old's favourite things are probably the lift that goes up the side of the house and the slide into the pool. The house has a bathroom, kitchen, sitting room, bedroom and on the top floor a party room with disco ball and roof terrace and then there's a piece of turf and a pool with slide for outside. The dream house arrives in a large box and though some assembly is required this is fairly easy and takes around half an hour for one adult to do, I think there are around 14 steps and most of the pieces are large. Most of the decoration stickers are already stuck on the walls but there is one sheet of stickers that you need to do yourself. Once it's assembled it is very sturdy and feels like it's good quality. If you have the budget and the space for this dream house I would definitely recommend it as I think my children will get hours and hours of enjoyment from it.
Loads of great stuff within this barbie doll house. Loads of parts and areas for kids to play with. The music and changing colours is great. My daughter loves it. It's well made and easy to assemble. Lots of imagination and roll playing going on. She seems to be very happy with this Christmas present. It's big and compact but not ridiculous in size for a play room or bedroom and space is quite limited in our home. I would definitely recommend this house to any doll fan, and it doesn't have to be barbie. She's got all her dolls and superheroes playing in there.
