Banana Boat Sensitive Sunscreen Lotion

works great for our family! We use it during playing tennis,running and even for swimming. 🌼It doesn't contain chemicals. Absolutely great, right for your skin. 🌼It leaves a bit of a white cast. Rubbing it in well does help once it's on, it's hard to get off! That's a big advantage for sun protection! I read that, Mineral sunscreen isn't supposed to absorb into your skin, preventing the sunburn. 🌼It makes sense of not easily wearing off - as you wouldn't want to get in the water and have it come off so quick that it wouldn't work. 🌼I love this sunscreen! It lasts for hours and hours even after swimming, playing tennis, running, and walking. 🌼🌼Recommend it for both - kids adults :)

I’m happier that someone wears sunscreen than not at all but I do prefer to follow the American Dermatology Association guidelines which recommend a combination of minerals and chemicals. This is my best easy explanation about sunscreen ingredients I would tell my clients and now I’m telling you. Minerals block and reflect the rays like a shield. Unfortunately, there are some tiny little pinholes in that shield. And then my “hot spot” rule to know when to reapply. Let’s also not argue about SPF. I know recently that some products were found to have ingredients that are known to be cancer-causing. ALLERGIC REACTION- HIVES And HEAT RASH

As someone with very bad eczema I tried to find a mineral sunscreen product for sensitive skin. I applied this generously on my face neck arms and legs and went under the afternoon sun for about an hour. My neck was burning in pain with heat rash. The skin was soft to touch and stinged whenever I touch. This product caused my neck to get burnt instead. When i went out under the Sun without any product, I wouldn't even get painful skin. I had hives and itchy blisters over my whole body. It made my existing eczema wounds even itchier. Its even worse than my usual eczema breakout. The hives were uncountable. I am pretty sure there is something in this product that irritates my skin because my face hardly had hives even if I ate something wrong. AWFUL! reapplied this GLUE and still BURNT

This is the WORST sunscreen I have ever seen or used. First off, maybe mineral sunscreen isn’t supposed to absorb and all, but this crap is soooo thick. It’s like spreading the white school glue over your body. Beware that on a beach, you’re going to look like a badly done school diorama of a beach because the sand is going to stick in this like crazy (lesson learned). Then every time you reapply, you are just adding another layer of glue on the sandy glue. It feels AWFUL. So my family reapplied this four times in four hours. No joke. I noticed everyone was a wee bit pink and was being extra paranoid. My husband was grumbling Bc I kept insisting we reapply it. Kids were grumbling Bc I insisted we let it try to dry some. It’s also incredibly hard to wash off. Even more so when you’re skin is BURNT and SAND is stuck in it two showers later.

Amazing for dry, sensitive skin!

I have super sensitive fair, sun damaged, rosacea prone, dry mature skin. I literally tried about 20 different sunscreens and was so surprised to find this as my favorite. I’ve developed red rashes with other sunscreens (even physical/zinc ones) and this one does not irritate my skin at all. It does not leave a white cast on my skin. It also applies smoothly even over my thick Cerave moisturizing cream without any pilling. I typically don’t wear much makeup, but when I do, it applies smoothly on top of the Banana Boat. There is no fragrance and no irritation even on my eyelids. The only slight downside for me is that it has a slightly greasy feel, whereas I would love more of a matte finish. Our family used the old Banana Boat Kids in the yellow bottle (used to be available in a 12 oz. pump, which was awesome!). For years and years we used that sunscreen. We were absolute devotees. Then they discontinued it and replaced it with this new one. While the active ingredients are the same, the formula is totally different. The old one was a normal lotion consistency, easy to rub in and with a white cast that faded quickly. And while it did settle into skin creases (inner elbows, etc.), it came basically clean with normal showering. This new formula is like GLUE. It takes forever to rub in, and leaves your skin looking white all day. My little one spent a while digging in the dirt yesterday after I applied this, and now the DIRT is also stuck to her like glue. We scrubbed and scrubbed in the shower last night, and she went back to camp with blackened legs this morning anyway. PLEASE bring back the old formula (AND the old larger pump bottles!). If you did, it would be the only sunscreen our entire family would use for the rest of all eternity. Until then, I'm shopping around for something that isn't impossible both to apply and to wash off. So disappointed.

Good protection for light skin

I bought this a week or so ago to use as a daily sunscreen for my face and body. I have somewhat light skin (not super pale, but as I'm spending more time outside, I'm getting slightly tanned), and my face is best described as combination--oily in T zone, patchy and dry in other spots. This sunscreen has done a great job of protecting my skin, and it serves as a nice base for makeup, but it leaves a pretty distinct white cast. It does absorb quickly into the skin, something rare for mineral sunscreens, but it really brings out the cool, white tones in my skin. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone besides people who are naturally pale or cool-toned (or who use lots of bronzer!). I have been using this sunscreen on my face & neck for the last 2-3 weeks every day, and... I love it! My skin is sensitive and will breakout in rash or acne easily if I use products that have questionable ingredients, and so far I have not experienced a rash or acne from this! I love the UV filters that are used in this: octocrylene, homosalate, octisalate, and zinc (zinc is a fabulous ingredient – helps with acne & oil production). These UV filters are safe for the coral reefs and environment as well which is great. I have found that it does not leave a white-cast; it sinks into my skin well. It does have that stereotypical “sunscreen smell” which I don’t mind and I can’t smell it after a few minutes anyway. I can apply this right onto my eyelids and underneath my eyes and it does not burn or sting, even by the end of the day my eyes are still good.I typically use a moisturizer first and then apply a kidney-bean sized amount of the sunscreen to my face & neck. The way I use this sunscreen (with a moisturizer underneath) does not leave my skin matte, but I personally enjoy a dewy look because I think it looks healthy & hydrated & glowy. I think if I used less or no moisturizer first and just applied the sunscreen, then my face would look more matte. But it definitely is not like body sunscreen that is sometimes so greasy; this is a good light facial sunscreen. I haven't tested it's ability against water and sweat so I can't speak to that. At night time I make sure to remove the sunscreen using an oil-balm makeup-remover and then use a gentle cleanser, this way it does not sit on my skin overnight.Most importantly, I have not experienced any burning of the skin with this (yay for no sun damage!).I recommend this sunscreen for facial use!

My advice is: Do not buy this product!!

I am generally a big fan of Banana Boat but I will never, ever buy this Sport Mineral type sunscreen again. I will stick with the other types. Yes, the sunscreen seems to protect your skin, as expected. No complaints there. However… 1. The sunscreen sprays out in gloppy particles and droplets. It goes everywhere and is hard to clean off surfaces that it drifts on to. 2. The sunscreen is very hard to rub in. It is not smooth and spreadable, very gloppy. 3. The sunscreen does not soak in. It leaves a comical white sheen covering your body and you end up looking like a cadaver. When you sweat you sweat out a milky juice. 4. the perfect sunscreen for acne prone skin

I am writing a review in hopes of promoting this product so it will NEVER be discontinued! I am constantly trying sunscreens. I have dry, acne prone skin with rosacea and I have never found one that isn't irritating or pore clogging. On my pale skin, it does not give me a white cast if I take the time to rub it in nicely. It can appear thick and difficult to spread, but if you take the time to spread gently in sections, it will look white at first but then sink into your skin. I can't speak on how it would be on deeper skin tones though. It dried down to a somewhat matte finish but still gives me some moisture and doesn't make me look greasy. I can put it near my eyes and it doesn't irritate them and they are extremely sensitive.
