I rarely leave reviews but this shoe is incredible. I have experimented with Brooks, Hokas, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, and more, all in 4E and to fit my weirdly shaped feet wide midfoot and forefoot. The Kayano's 31 felt like a breathe of fresh air. Took these for a 1hr 15min run and these felt amazing. No breaking in period needed. Love them so much I actually bought another pair for backup.

The Kayano is the only shoe in 4E (extra wide) that works for my challenging regular to wide feet (rather wide mid foot) with high instep. Wearing these shoes is like walking on a cloud. The super light Kayano is very spacious in width providing 11,5cm and offers a lot of room in the toe box. And they don’t look bulky like other brands in oversize shoe sizes like EU 49 at all. I just bought a second pair. I wish Asics offered more colors to choose from in Europe like they do on their US site. This is the only criticism I have. It‘s always just the color black being available in 4E in Europe, so I wear a black pair going to the gym and another black pair in the gym. Don’t get me wrong though. I wear 12 EE, extra wide, these are the best running shoes for extra wide sizes. This neon color is wild but also my school colors. The bottoms have that new grip technology. Some surfaces grip so good I think I have gum on my shoe. They loud, they wild, and they grip... a lot!

I’ve been wearing these all day everyday since I bought them. I was experiencing a tracking issue on my right side affecting my knee, hip and lower back. This shoe seems to have solved most of the problem. Shoe took about three days to get used to. It’s fine for walking, but I don’t recommend standing for long periods of time in it.
Support never felt this cushioned! I've worn Kayano's for over a decade and a half. I think I started on 12 or 13. I have the 30's right now as a daily driver. I put these on and though, am I walking on pillows? Pillows that guide my foot into the proper foot stride path!! These are amazing, I can't wait to go for a run. I have a very wide foot and wear the extra wide, and they feel even slighly wider than my 30's. Super comfortable.
Extremely disappointed in the 31s. These shoes blew out in less than 2 months with an estimated 300 hours of wear. The 30s lasted almost 5 months. Same job, same weight, everything is the same, except for the shoes!
If you have wide flat feet and want a comfortable fit this shoe is well worth trying out. The width of the toe box is impressive and extremely comfortable. The heel works really well with my foot type and keeps the shoe in place very comfortably. The only improvement, for me, would be having more space for my big toes height wise. I do feel as though the height could be a little more inside the shoe for the big toes, this is being extremely picky though.
They felt bulkier to me than last years model. Took a day or two to adjust. Brand new and seem to have a little more support, but again, they are brand new so maybe after a month of use will work the new out. I do feel like I am wearing old man walking shoes circa 1990’s.
To be honest, it is the best shoe I have ever owned and it is worth every cent I paid for it. It is very comfortable for my feet and I do not feel tired on long distances. I have been having plantar fasciitis for almost a year now, I have tried every shoes that I can lay my eyes on, all for nothing. I read a review on the Gel kayano 31, even though I saw some negative review but I was kin in giving this runner a try, by the way all my life I have never spent 200 euros on foot Wear. Am glad I did, because this Gel kayano is my ever best buy. It's my fault for buying a size 44/9 instead of 43/1/2 since it's extra wide feet, I wanted to return it for lesser size but because I was too excited I removed the tag, and now I have to make do with it. Other than that it's perfect, I will highly recommend it for that extra comfort.
