ArtNaturals Vitamin C Serum 1 fl oz (30 ml)

I loved this product the first time I bought it. Clean ingredients that seemed to help lighten my severe acne hyperpigmentation. BUT I bought a 2nd bottle after the first one ran out and noticed the serum looked different. It had oily-looking surface tension. So I inspected the bottle closer and realized the ingredients changed and now include alcohol. Photos of old and new label and ingredients attached. I don’t know why vitamin C serum needs alcohol, but now I’m scared to use it because this is the same brand that had used poor quality alcohol in their hand-sanitizers that testing proved were carcinogenic. I truly gave this product a chance. I used it every night for about 3 weeks and boy did it destroy my already aging skin. This IS NOT the least bit hydrating despite the claims on the bottle. When I put it on, it tightened my skin. My skin looked smooth and pulled tight, but in a drying kind of way if that makes sense. I would then put my usual moisturizer on top of it and go to bed. I began to have deep wrinkles around my mouth and an overall loose texture to my skin that was never there before. It was extreme. I was on vacation when I began to notice this and thought maybe it’s the lighting in that particular bathroom. When I returned home I realized I had indeed severely damaged my skin with this product to the point that I had aged myself by 5-10 years! I immediately set to repair my skin with intense moisturizer and it took almost 2 weeks to get it back to where it was prior to using this serum. As an additional note, aside from the tightening, I saw no decrease in hyperpigmentation, which was my main desire. In fact looking back, my face was quite flushed/red during that time in addition to the dryness/wrinkles so I believe it also gave me a chemical burn. I do not recommend this product.

I bought this a while ago, but decided to use it a bit more before my review. I apply it with a bit of water on my hands (dampened hands for a better term) and moisturizer. That has made a large difference on my skin. I have hyperpigmentation, and my skin tone really evened out*WITH CONSISTENCY OF USING IT.* when I use it by itself my face gets dry faster even with moisturizer on. But when I use the serum, with damp hands, and my moisturizer mixed together. It feels and looks nice.
