This black Apple Mouse Magic is my second Apple Magic Mouse. The first is a white mouse which my wife is using. Both mice are charged through a USB-C to lightening-connector cable. One end of the cable is plugged into the Mac and the other end into the bottom of the Magic Mouse. This means one can't use the mouse while it is charging. One also has to push a tiny on-off switch on the base of the mouse to the on position. There is no instruction on which side is on except that green shows when the switch is in the on position. I am red-green colorblind so the green color wasn't much of a help. For those with similar challenges, the on position is the one that is nearest the edge of the bottom of the mouse which also might be considered the up position. The black mouse is attractive from a distance, but its shiny black surface gets quickly covered by fingerprints. That's is the reason I deducted one star. Also be aware one must go into the mouse instructions to activate the right-click function for the apple. Once that is done, I have recommended this mouse to my family and friends.

I'm not much on the little trackpads, even when I'm traveling...I always have a small one. so I had high hopes for this mouse...especially since I had heard good things about the Magic Mouse to go w my new 2024 M3 Macbook Air.At 1st it seemed fine, until I noticed it start skipping around a bit and me having to move it every time just to get it to keep pace w what I was doing. Quite frustrating! Then I couldn't do anything, even a word without it becoming a problem. It's like it's trying to perform a Hawai'in dance or a slow hula hoop and you have to catch it. It drives you crazy! I'm used to something VERY RESPONSIVE, ON POINT, %26 TO THE LETTER! If I have to chase it down or switch to trackpad in the middle of an email.

I was a bit concerned as my i-mac is probably over 10 years old and has stopped getting updates, However after having to buy some USB to Usb C converters, my mac only had standard USB ports, it seems to be ok so far. My rating was reduced to 4 stars to reflect the lack of long term evidence and the price.

Terrible mouse
14 September 2024

It's stiff, slow and lacks precision. Even after trying to adjust the settings in the OS, it's slow and if I want to move the cursor from one side to the opposite of the screen, I have to lift the mouse, put it back to the initial position and push it several. Sometimes, if I'm approaching something I want to click on, the cursor just quickly jumps somewhere else. So much unexpected behaviour which makes it very frustrating to use. I can't believe a product developed by the same company that developed the computer feels like is almost incompatible. The only good thing is the gestures you can do to scroll and toggle between screens.I took it back to the store, but they refused to accept it given it was opened.

This level of accuracy has significantly improved my efficiency and overall user experience.Connectivity is seamless with my Apple devices, thanks to the Bluetooth integration. The setup was incredibly simple, and the reliability of the connection is outstanding. I appreciate the freedom from wires, which helps in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.Battery life is another strong point. The mouse lasts weeks on a single charge, and recharging is convenient through the Lightning port – the same one used for my iPhone, which is an added convenience. The Magic Mouse is also surprisingly comfortable to use. Despite its low-profile design, it fits well in my hand, and I've experienced no strain even after extended use. This ergonomic aspect was an unexpected but welcome benefit. In conclusion, the Apple Magic Mouse in black is not just visually striking but also a powerhouse in terms of performance and usability. It's a perfect blend of style, precision, and innovation, making it an essential accessory for any Apple user. It has certainly elevated my computing experience to a new level.
