Amazfit T-Rex is a great Watch. The battery lasts about a week when the screen brightness is set to maximum. It is a very smart and sporty watch. There are a few negatives. The always-on display is not bright enough at all. Probably this was done to keep drainage of the battery low. There is also a small 2-sec delay in the watch lighting up the display when you turn your hand to look at the time. Also at times, the screen does not light up at all for some reason and in those times I have to give the screen a small tap to get it lit up. It can be a bit annoying for that reason. But for the value of the money, it is a great watch. Also, the maximum screen display time is 14 - sec and for me, this is not enough. I hope Amazfit will try to improve the watch sensitivity and its display resolution in future versions.

I purchased the watch in 2021 April and used it for the whole year of 2021. It has accurate step counter and good sleep analysis but I doubt the sleep analysis is accurate because it doesn’t track my waking time very automatically unless I use the watch. I left the watch in the storage from Sep 2021 till Sep 2022 and started using again and it works like a charm. It has great battery life. The always on display is great. Just might get annoying at sleeping time, although you could adjust setting in the setting to switch it off at certain time of everyday probably.

This watch lacks some of the premium features of a more popular smart watch but, it more than makes up for it in quality and dependability.I can’t talk to it or respond to texts. It doesn’t track physical activity automatically, aside from counting steps and heart rate. The app was not designed for the English speaking customer so, the translations are not always accurate, making use challenging. However, the price was reasonable. After 1 year of moderate activity and occasional charges, the battery has never died on me. The band is soft and flexible yet durable. I’m writing this review after replacing it (replacements are fairly priced on Amazon and it was easy enough to repair) when it began to tear.It has a fair amount of visual customization options but, ... MoreThis watch lacks some of the premium features of a more popular smart watch but, it more than makes up for it in quality and dependability.I can’t talk to it or respond to texts. This watch had the potential to be the best smart watch out there, especially at its price point. I want to love this watch, but I find myself missing not being able to respond to texts or answer calls. The other thing I missed that I and many others use constantly is NFC. Now that I'm done with the bad, the watch itself is extremely durable. I have worn the watch for 16 days straight and still have not had to charge it. It comes stacked with several apps for anyone into fitness. I hope when and if they come out with a t rex pro 2, they listen to their customers.
This is my first experience with a so-called smartwatch. I selected this watch because of its combination of size---I needed a larger display to accommodate my eyesight---and features, and also the special price at Adorama. So far, I am happy with my purchase. The battery life is great. I had very little trouble connecting the watch to my phone app. The only reason for 4 stars is that I think the heart rate is somewhat inaccurate to the high side, but I might need to adjust the position on my wrist to enable better accuracy. Overall, this is meeting my expectations.
I like the features, the band, the Desert Tan color, the Zepp App, the watch face options, the menus, battery life, charging ease, and all the health/activity tracking available at such a nice price. So far, the watch face is very durable...I keep bumping into things since I rarely wear anything on my wrist/arm.I have nothing negative to report. I have not used all the activity tracking available, nor tested the watch while in rain or while swimming. I would not hesitate getting the watch wet. it seems very well made to me.I am no expert on these type of watches or activity trackers. I would easily consider purchasing other Amazfit products based on my experience with the T-Rex. I really like the product.
The most noticeable feature is the crisp bright screen. I purchased the black model which has a somewhat stretchy rubber wrist strap that is easy to adjust for a comfortable fit. The magnetic USB charging cable is very easy to use, but isnt needed too often because the battery has been lasting 10 days before a recharge is needed. It is possible to extend the battery for almost a month if unnecessary features are switched off. The T-Rex is very well made, but still comes in at an affordable price. Not too many features are sacrificed to save cost. The heart rate monitor has good sensitivity and detects quickly. The watch GPS downloads hints when the watch is synced, enabling the GPS to acquire sats quickly, which is useful for paced exercise scenarios. There is no speaker or microphone, so alerts are strictly vibratory. I have previously worn a Samsung Forester, and I like the T-Rex better because it is lighter and the battery lasts much longer between charges. The companion app has gotten much better. The old Mifit has been replaced by Zepp which looks nicer and and is better organized. If I were buying again I would compare the T-Rex with Amazfits GTR-2, which is little more expensive, and has traditional less outdoorsy styling. Both are great watches for the price. Which one depends on what look you prefer.
Great look and size, quite rugged, nice tactile button feel, decent waterproof rating, good battery life promised.However:- bunch of menus and screens, deeply nested;- touchscreen on such small device is quite useless practically, although starts bugging off single drop of water;- screen lock function needs to be activated through menu and keeps posting silly message upon every touch to the screen;- standard watch faces are screaming and awkward; installing custom ones basically requires hacking;- always-on watch faces don't match any of the main ones, and are not OLED-friendly (will cause burnout and shadowing over time, due to static image);- battery went from 37% to empty in two days of always-on display and background heartbeat monitoring;- the display ... MoreGreat look and size, quite rugged, nice tactile button feel, decent waterproof rating, good battery life promised.However:- bunch of menus and screens, deeply nested;- touchscreen on such small device is quite useless practically, although starts bugging off single drop of water;- screen lock function needs to be activated through menu and keeps posting silly message upon every touch to the screen;- standard watch faces are screaming and awkward; installing custom ones basically requires hacking;- always-on watch faces don't match any of the main ones, and are not OLED-friendly (will cause burnout and shadowing over time, due to static image);- battery went from 37% to empty in two days of always-on display and background heartbeat monitoring;- the display is too shy in the sun and too bright in darkness;- no custom apps.I think it could be awesome watch if software was redesigned more toward less convoluted UI, more button usage with optional touch screen disable; more customization and apps SDK offered.Right now it looks like an engineering prototype, constantly irritating with poor UI ergonomics and silly shortfalls. Less convenient than a regular outdoor watch.Returning.

Coolest thing I've ever owned! Absolutely this watch! Tough, lightweight, chunky and does everything I need: keeps track of my steps and daily gym activities, measure my sleep and heartrate and interacts with my smartphone perfectly! Notifications can be tailored to your exact needs. It looks great on my wrist in the light grey, totally unique and very stylish! Gets loads of comments. Don't hesitate!
