Amazfit T-Rex is a great Watch. The battery lasts about a week when the screen brightness is set to maximum. It is a very smart and sporty watch. There are a few negatives. The always-on display is not bright enough at all. Probably this was done to keep drainage of the battery low. There is also a small 2-sec delay in the watch lighting up the display when you turn your hand to look at the time. Also at times, the screen does not light up at all for some reason and in those times I have to give the screen a small tap to get it lit up. It can be a bit annoying for that reason. But for the value of the money, it is a great watch. Also, the maximum screen display time is 14 - sec and for me, this is not enough. I prefer it if they had kept it at least 20 - 30 sec so ... I hope Amazfit will try to improve the watch sensitivity and its display resolution in future versions.

It's size and feature set are perfect for me.Only wishes are t be able to change the font size to help with my old eyes and change the touch screen so that water falling or moving on it would not be recognized as actual touch interaction. But, the reason why I am in this site and took time to write review is my frustration about not being able to find a replacement strap for my camo-colored model. And I've been hung up 3 times contacting phone sales and support. Luckily I'm not trying to call for tech support. I've had this watch and use it heavily for the past 3 - 4 years and never had an issue. But my problems getting in touch with them should be part of your decision making.

This is my first experience with a so-called smartwatch. I selected this watch because of its combination of size---I needed a larger display to accommodate my eyesight---and features, and also the special price at Adorama. So far, I am happy with my purchase. The battery life is great. I had very little trouble connecting the watch to my phone app. The only reason for 4 stars is that I think the heart rate is somewhat inaccurate to the high side, but I might need to adjust the position on my wrist to enable better accuracy. Overall, this is meeting my expectations.

I like the features, the band, the Desert Tan color, the Zepp App, the watch face options, the menus, battery life, charging ease, and all the health/activity tracking available at such a nice price. So far, the watch face is very durable...I keep bumping into things since I rarely wear anything on my wrist/arm.I have nothing negative to report. I have not used all the activity tracking available, nor tested the watch while in rain or while swimming. I would not hesitate getting the watch wet. it seems very well made to me.I am no expert on these type of watches or activity trackers. I would easily consider purchasing other Amazfit products based on my experience with the T-Rex. I really like the product.
The most noticeable feature is the crisp bright screen. I purchased the black model which has a somewhat stretchy rubber wrist strap that is easy to adjust for a comfortable fit. The magnetic USB charging cable is very easy to use, but isnt needed too often because the battery has been lasting 10 days before a recharge is needed. It is possible to extend the battery for almost a month if unnecessary features are switched off. The T-Rex is very well made, but still comes in at an affordable price. Not too many features are sacrificed to save cost. The heart rate monitor has good sensitivity and detects quickly. The watch GPS downloads hints when the watch is synced, enabling the GPS to acquire sats quickly, which is useful for paced exercise scenarios. There is no ... There is no speaker or microphone, so alerts are strictly vibratory. I have previously worn a Samsung Forester, and I like the T-Rex better because it is lighter and the battery lasts much longer between charges. The companion app has gotten much better. The old Mifit has been replaced by Zepp which looks nicer and and is better organized. If I were buying again I would compare the T-Rex with Amazfits GTR-2, which is little more expensive, and has traditional less outdoorsy styling. Both are great watches for the price. Which one depends on what look you prefer.
While it does track BPM, it doesn't track Blood Pressure, which is a pretty glaring, omission. And no, at 6'. 3" tall and 206LB, I am NOT overweight and no, "177LB.", would NOT be an ideal weight for someone at my height and build. I'm not short or foreign. Yes, it tracks blood oxygen, but it doesn't track temp. Yes, it has numerous watch faces, but it doesn't accurately track steps or calories burned. No doubt, had I spent more and bought the T-Rex Pro, that would've been able to track Blood Pressure, which is a pretty critical thing for a stroke survivor, to track. No, it doesn't give 21 days of battery life between charges, but I haven't gone more than three days without having to charge it. Overnight is more than enough. The couple of things it does well, ... This is a nice looking watch. Styling is way better than Fitbit. The battery life is even better than advertised. I am on day 22 with 30% battery life remaining. I keep the light level low unless I am running outside. I turned off the option for the watch to light up when you lift your arm. Now for the bad. The heart rate monitor is highly inaccurate as well as the step counter. Also, it doesn't really track calories unless you are in a workout mode. I went for a three mile run at a 10:00 pace and it said that I burned 35 calories. On the next run I selected outdoor running and I was at around 400 calories. With Fitbit you do not need to do that. I wore my Fitbit on my non dominant hand all day and the Trex on my dominant hand. The Fitbit steps were 2,000 higher. ... MoreThis is a nice looking watch. Styling is way better than Fitbit. The Fitbit steps were 2,000 higher. Several times I walked around my house that day and the Trex registered no steps while the Fitbit would count 25 to the bathroom etc... Maybe they can send an upgrade to fix all of these issues. The watch is comfortable and the styling great. They just need to work on their accuracy. I recommend this as a watch. Not a tracker.
Great look and size, quite rugged, nice tactile button feel, decent waterproof rating, good battery life promised.However:- bunch of menus and screens, deeply nested;- touchscreen on such small device is quite useless practically, although starts bugging off single drop of water;- screen lock function needs to be activated through menu and keeps posting silly message upon every touch to the screen;- standard watch faces are screaming and awkward; installing custom ones basically requires hacking;- always-on watch faces don't match any of the main ones, and are not OLED-friendly (will cause burnout and shadowing over time, due to static image);- battery went from 37% to empty in two days of always-on display and background heartbeat monitoring;- the display ... Less convenient than a regular outdoor watch.Returning.
The watch itself looks great quality. Feels great. Though most of the stock watch faces look out of focus once installed on the watch. There is AmazFaces app. It no longer syncs faces. It only worked somehow to do it once.Searching Google I found out you need to download a newer app called Notifi to get actual faces again. This app needs major improvement. It asks for so many permissions to see data on top of the Zepp app. I think both systems are interfering with one another. So what I did was just use notifi app to upload a decent watch face. That didn't seem out of focus. Then I deleted the app, and just using the zepp app for now.Other than those hiccups I think you have a solid product. Comparing data with a coworker using the apple watch. The data seems ... MoreThe watch itself looks great quality. Feels great. The product has a lot of shortcomings:- battery drain is very significant without GOS use or constant heart rate monitoring. It is down 50% over just 4 days of regular wear- steps counter is lesser by 5 to 15% on different days compared to Mi Band 4, which I wear on the other arm and which I had verified in the past to be very accurate with both mechanical and GPS based devices- the compass on the gadget is about 100 degrees off compared to a phone compass and military compass. In other words: don't waste your money. I'm very disappointed. It doesn't worth even $90 I paid on sale.
