Normally my favorite colors are black and red, but I went with the black and white on these because you can wear them with any clothes when off the bike.COMFORT:Very comfortable just like a sneaker. Probably wouldn’t walk a bunch of miles in them but they are probably comparable to a nice pair of dress shoes in terms of comfort. They have yet to bother my feet while walking around casually. The sole is thin, but the insoles provide really nice cushioning. The materials on the inside of the tongue and sock liner are really soft and never make your shins or ankles sore. Also, they are very light weight.AIRFLOW:The amount of air these things flow on hot days is simply amazing. And even when sitting still, your feet aren't sweating. Don't buy this vented version if you need waterproof shoes.LOOKS:One of my favorite features is the styling. I really prefer not to look too much like "hey, I ride" when my bike is parked. So these are the perfect compromise between style and protection. I wear them around the office at work and around family events and no one can tell I'm wearing riding shoes unless I say "hey, check out my riding shoes." The black and white color goes well with anything you might wear.SIZING:In sneakers, I wear mostly Air Jordans and mostly wear an 8.5 (US) in most Jordans and most Nikes. There are certain models of Jordans and other Nikes that I have to get in a 9. So I went with a 9.5 in these Sektor shoes and they fit perfect. I also have the Bates Marauder which I also have in a 9.5 and they too fit perfect. So hopefully that information helps someone that is conflicted on which size to get. I don't think you can go wrong with going a whole size up on these if you're like me and are in between shoe sizes.MISC:Anthony kinda complained about the exposed laces in the review video, but I just tuck them behind the strap after I tie them and they remain perfectly out of the way of the bike controls.Only thing I wish is that there was a bit more reflective material somewhere else on the shoes for a bit of extra piece of mind. The little reflective strip on the heel is mostly always covered by your pants.

Overall: Great every day boots that are comfortable to wear the whole day. I'm using them for commuting and walking around the office, they do the job great. Great protection too (steal-toe). Very discrete, and great looking with jeans. The vents holes are very cooling for hot days.Fitting: Please note that Alpinestars has different Size Charts for different boots style. I'm regular shoe-size 10 and the Sektor boots size 10 fits perfectly for me. I also have adventure-style boots from Alpinestar that Size 9 fits exactly the same as Size 10 of the Sektor, so make sure you check the right Size Chart for the right boots style. Otherwise, the fit is more on the narrower side in general. My only comment is the back part of the shoe (above the heel) is not as deep as ... MoreOverall: Great every day boots that are comfortable to wear the whole day. I've been wearing mainly tall riding boots, i think this is just something to get used to.

Had to add the obligated "I rarely write reviews, so this means a lot" kind of thing.Really nice that they added a note saying these run a little small, so get half size up. Also talked to a customer rep and he recommended the same. Turned out they were right! who would have thought.FIT- As long as you get half/one size up, these are really nice. They are a bit narrower than most walking shoes, but I don't feel aches at all. Didn't feel like they need to be broken-in either. Feels great from day one.PROTECTION- Very study all around, especially the toes, heels, and ankles. You know, the important bits. But then these are armored shoes, that were designed to take hits and protect your feet, so I think of it as an investment.COMFORT- I wear these as walking shoes in my office all day. Feel even better than some of my dress shoes. One thing I really like is the airflow during rides. My lord the airflow feels so good in these shoes. Especially when riding during hot summer day.FEATURE- Would like a bit more reflective mats around. A little tab to pull the heels up would be nice also. I do like the laces and Velcro combo. Laces don't get in the way while walking or riding. I never undo the laces, just the velcro strap to put on or take off.STYLE - I mentioned I use these as walking shoes around the office since they "blend" in with business casual clothes. I really like these over the SMX boots because there are no bulky pucks, or over-sized padding (obviously means less protection) but I like the versatility aspect of these shoes.Overall, I didn't think these "motorcycle" shoes would be worth it over regular working boots, but I do enjoy wearing these. Good protection, comfy, easily wearable with regular clothes while looking slick at the same time, but that airflow though. Everyone should experience what I did during my first ride in these.

Excellent warm-weather shorty boots, easy to walk in
22 April 2024

I have finally gotten a chance to use these boots, and they're everything I hoped for. I was a little worried about the pointy toes because I have wide feet, but in fact they are extremely comfortable. My feet no longer get hot and sweaty during hot-weather rides. The style is understated, which is just the way I like it - they don't scream "I'm wearing motorcycle boots." Furthermore, they are quite comfortable to walk around it. Unless they end up falling apart (and I have no reason to expect that) I highly recommend these for riding when it's hot.I wear size 9.5 street shoes and I ordered size 9.5 boots. They fit perfectly.

Shoes are very comfortable and supportive! They have good traction as well. Very stylish! They fit as expected. I wear a 9.5 and these fit as I expected. They're very stylish too. They go well with the rest of my casual riding gear and they are sufficient to wear around after motorcycle rides.

Great, comfortable riding shoes but not for use in wet conditions
14 April 2023

My favorite riding shoes. They fit well, provide good ventilation, have CE certification, and are not impossible to use in cold weather with decent socks. I think they look great and find them very comfortable on long rides and when walking even good distances during riding stops. As another reviewer mentioned, they can be slick as the bottoms are flat and at least once I was surprised I did not fall when I put my foot down on gravel or leaves and had them slip away from the bike. These boots are NOT waterproof at all and not advertised to be. (I think they have a non-vented version that I expect to be more water resistant.) I have ridden these all over the western US and into Canada and Mexico comfortably. I have been caught in light rain while riding and was grateful my feet remained dry. However, on a recent creek crossing some water sloshed up over the front of the boot and water definitely came inside making for damp socks the rest of the ride. The fear of getting caught in the rain during longer rides has forced me to pick up a set of waterproof boots that I will likely use more and more often. These Alpinestairs Sektor Vented shoes will remain my go-to boots for shorter rides and around town.

I didn't see any weak-spots that would be prone to failure. The materials are quality and don't mar. The stitching is clean, even, and durable.I just got them so can't speak to their actual long-term durability, but they provide a protective shell for your feet and pad the ankles, while letting them move naturally. What I can observe is that they definitely have all the right stuff for appearing to be protective, and you can tell they will last so I gave it a high-rating due to the obvious durability. While the shell and soul are a bit stiff (not near as much as an actual sport/racing boot), they are comfortable. I've been wearing these at home to test them out and you can definitely walk around in them, though I wouldn't go shopping downtown for hours on end in them. They'll work well if you if you go meet your friends and go to dinner and a movie. The shoes are really sleek actually and I was worried they would be too narrow, but they are true to size. They look like they might be narrow because the sole appears narrow. However, they fit me perfectly right out of the box... And I mean perfect! Also, I could get in and out of the shoe easy. I didn't need to struggle to slide my foot in and I didn't need a shoe horn or to pry with my finger.I bought size 10.5 and it fit's perfect for my wider feet. For comparison, I wear Adidas running shoes in 10.5 and they fit me just as perfectly, I wear Converse Chuck's at 10.5, which have a bit of room in the toe-box. All my dress shoes are 10.5.Lastly, these shoes look nice. I think better than in the photos. I have the all black ones. I thought the venting would be obvious, but they actually blend in and don't stand out. If I were wearing jeans with these, people would not know I'm wearing riding shoes, and would think they are casual stylin' sneakers or racers.

They're pretty stiff, at first, but I wore them around the house to break them in a bit. After a day or two they feel great. They're stiff enough and feel sturdy enough to instill confidence they'll give you some protection in a slide while not feeling so stiff that they limit your movements while shifting. I do wish they hid the laces better (had a Velcro flap to cover them), but they're not bad. You can tuck them in a bit.
