So the helmet was around £137 alot cheaper than elsewhere, and the tax/important was about £15. They do mention this on the site, and if you buy over a certain price then the charge gets added. The face shield has high quality detents in all positions and a switch in the front allows the shield to vent in city position. Also included are changeable detents for a "race option" for a fully open or fully closed shield, to allow more customization. The interior cheek pads feel excellent and give a "premium" helmet feel for an entry level helmet. The sun visor is a welcomed addition during bright days and is operated easily via a switch on the side of the helmet. No need for an extra visor or sunglasses! Peripheral vision is good! Another welcome addition is cutouts for a comm system as well! Despite the awesome features of the helmet, it is quite loud. Definitely quieter than the cheaper bilt brand helmet, but definitely louder than a shoei. Aerodynamically it performs decently. Looking forward, the helmet likes to be in a tuck and half tuck position. You would probably want to look elsewhere if you're an upright rider. Turning your head during hwy speeds, the helmet performs ok. Not horrible, not great, you can still feel it want to lift or pull ever so slightly at higher speeds. A solid 4/5 for an entry level helmet of higher quality. Definitely where you want to be if you want to step up from a cheaper bilt/sedici helmet or if you want a good secondary helmet as a back up. Even though it's not Snell rated, it has the dot AND ece safety certs. It also scored a 4/5 star on the SHARP safety test!

Almost perfect for the price.

Far better helmet than the price would suggest. Excellent fit, quiet, far less wind buffeting at highway speeds than any full face I've used (in this category), acceptable weight, vents are very effective, pinlock face shield has great optics. I only have three minor complaints: the stock retractable sun shield that this comes with is garbage, nowhere near dark enough and seems to make glare worse. I bought the replacement Iridium Silver retractable visor (also from F9) and it is perfect! The retractable sun visor lever could be better, it's not a 'positive'feel when wearing gloves but it's serviceable enough. Lastly the toggle for the front vent on the chin bar is operated from inside the helmet... Super weird to stick your finger inside the helmet and fuss around ... MoreFar better helmet than the price would suggest. Awesome just a bit too snug
21 April 2022

Sweet helmet, if it weren't for it being unbearably tight after a hour of wearing, I would have given it a 5 star. It fit well trying it on, similar to my other HJC helmet but after about 30-45 mins on a ride it was putting crazy pressure on my temples and cheekbones. Not the fault of AGV, more-so the fault of my abnormally shaped dome.Just make sure you don't have same issue cause once you use it, no returns. It is a narrow and very tight helmet by nature.Only time I used it was 40-45 degrees and kept a lot of wind out of my face and I was surprisingly warm. Ventilation was good, and when my visor fogged ventilation holes would clear it up within split seconds

Good helmet, a couple minor complaints
14 July 2020

Been using this helmet for the past year, still pleased with it. Couple issues worth mentioning... front of the helmet is skinny, and does not side on and off comfortably with the chin skirt installed. Without it, it's perfectly fine, but it blocks a good bit of wind, so I leave it on when it's cooler. The vent on the top center of the helmet makes a pretty good whistling noise over 40mph if you try to open it, and the other 2 on top don't do much. The visor works well. I like that you have about an inch of friction where you can open it slightly before you hit the detents. I hate when a visor only opens with detects, and the minimal opening is too wide. It comes with 2 other detent peices so you can change how it opens, but the other 2 weren't very useful, and I ... MoreBeen using this helmet for the past year, still pleased with it. It comes with 2 other detent peices so you can change how it opens, but the other 2 weren't very useful, and I wish they gave you one that was just a smooth friction all the way up and down.Last is the internal visor. You always pay about $50 extra for what should be an amazing feature on a helmet, and then the manufacturer always screws it up by giving you a visor with such a light tint that theres not even a point in using it. Maybe they're not allowed to give you one tinted past a certain point, not sure, but if you want to actually use it, count on spending an extra $50 over the helmet price to buy a darker internal visor to go with it.The visor also does also not take pinlock inserts. I ended up buying some and drilling my visor to install them. If you've never used them, and ride in any weather vaguely cold enough that your visor fogs up, find a helmet or a visor that let's you install the pinlock insert. They're amazing, one of those "I don't know how I've lived without these" kind of things.

Great helmet for the price, with lots of features
8 August 2022

Bought this as my first helmet, to use for the safety course and beyond.Excellent helmet, the features like the air flow vents make sure you never get hot in this helmet. The padding ensures a nice secure fit with no red marks once you're done riding.Noise levels are adequate, but at highway speeds the wind can be annoying, so I recommend some earplugsNo blind spots with this helmet either, the view is wide and clearMy only complaint is after using the helmet for only a week the red snap has broken off which holds the chin strap from flapping around and slapping you in the neck. Apparently this is a common issue with the AGV helmets

Nice helmet, terrible optical quality.
8 June 2022

Purchased this helmet for commuting. I'd become used to the drop down sun visor feature on previous helmets so it was a big selling feature for me. Its a well built shell and the finish is good. I've had no buffeting or aero problems with it. My two complaints have to do with the clear shield that it comes with and the sun visor. The optical quality on the sun visor is so poor that I get a headache from using it during my 30 minute commute. Its wavy and distorted and virtually unusable. The clear shield is built with two thicknesses, with a uniform thickness for most of the shield and a thicker band at the top of the shield, presumably to accommodate the thickness of the pinlock insert. The clear shield is built with two thicknesses, with a uniform thickness for most of the shield and a thicker band at the top of the shield, presumably to accommodate the thickness of the pinlock insert. Unfortunately, the ridge at the transition between the two thicknesses works like a fiber optic cable, collecting the sunlight from the length of the shield and focusing it in a glaring beam right above eye level, making my eyes feel like an ant being fried on the sidewalk by some sadistic kid with a magnifying glass. I purchased the tinted shield after the fact in an effort to correct this, and while there is no ridge to cause the problem, the pinlock insert that came with the original shield doesn't fit it, so I now need to buy another one of those. For what I thought would be a quality helmet, I'm disappointed to have to spend so much after the fact (almost 50% of the helmet price) to correct issues with the shield, and still not have a sun visor that is useable. I won't be buying AGV again.

Solid first/beginner/budget helmet
16 May 2020

I bought this helmet almost 3 years ago now from RevZilla, it was my first helmet as I got into motorcycling.I bought it because I wanted a helmet with an internal sun visor which came in at around the $200 price point. Overall I have positive things to say but having now moved on to a Shoei RF-SR for a while, there are of course areas which were built to the more budget price point.Pros:- Internal sun visor is great for a do-it-all helmet. No need to bring around an extra face shield or sunglasses (or saftey glasses)!- Ventilates relatively well (mainly from the chin vent)- Has an aggressive sportbike look despite being an all-rounder (maybe you like this, maybe you don't)Cons:- Only 2 shell sizes. This is great if you're a size MS, awful if you're a size ML. I am a size ML, I share the same shell size as the 2XL, XL, and LG helmets. Mainly matters for aesthetics and aerodynamics at highway speed, so not a deal breaker.- Pretty loud compared to more premium price helmets- Comfort is fine but if you try it on back to back with a well-fitting Shoei/Arai/etc. you can tell the difference in materials- Face shield seal is definitely budget. When caught in the rain a small amount of water seeps through the gasket pretty quickly.Overall:Great do-it-all helmet, pretty ideal for a first helmet in my opinion (along with a few others with internal sun visors from the likes HJC and Scorpion, pick the one you like the looks of best honestly). Most of the compromises are purely based on the price point. I am probably biased since I fit an ML in AGV sizing, if there were 3 shell sizes (or... if I fit in an MS) then I'd give it 5 stars.I keep it around as a good 2nd lid in the rare case I have a pillion, works out great since I can just tell them to use the sun visor as needed.I personally moved on to the Shoei RF-SR because I wanted a quieter helmet that was a bit more comfortable and has pinlock as well as a less sporty style (more neutral shaped than sporty).

Solid helmet with very few minor drawbacks
16 July 2019

This is my first AGV helmet and I absolutely love it. Even in a solid color I would still consider getting this helmet. My previous helmet was a HJC, that I also love and have crashed in, and compared to that one I feel this is a slight step up in quality and comfort. One minor drawback is the inner shield isn't dark enough and you almost need to buy the dark smoke inner shield to get any real shade from the sun; which I personally have not purchased yet, but have heard is a bit difficult to install. The chin curtain is also a bit finicky and protrudes more than I'd like. However this is my first helmet with a chin curtain so perhaps all chin curtains are like this and/or I have an oddly shaped chin. Also, mine arrived with one of the tabs broken, but does not effect the helmet in anyway. Revzilla's great customer service has a replacement coming my way as soon as they are back in stock. The last thing I noticed, which I am sure is something I can get used to over time, is that the chin portion of the helmet during shoulder checks on my sport bike tend to rub against my shoulder. Personally, all these are minor qualms and don't change my opinion on the helmet, but it may for others. The design is great, the airflow is top notch, vents are easily accessible with gloves even the chin vent with practice, the visor release mechanism is easy to use, the inner visor is helpful and the lever is easy to use with a glove, the mechanism to crack open your visor is easy to use with a glove after some practice, the straps are comfortable, the padding is comfortable, and I definitely notice the effect of the helmet's profile when on the highway. For me, the pros out way the cons and I would definitely recommend this helmet to others.

happy with purchase
16 February 2023

Bought this helmet knowing I wanted a bike soon and because I had my msf course coming up. The price was great and the safety ratings were what I was looking for. The helmet itself is super comfortable and helped keep my head dry and warm during my course (we got 3 inches of rain during the training days). i never had issues with helmet noise either but we never got out of second gear, so that is yet to be determined. happy with my purchase and the anti fog lens that comes with helmet.
