Aesop Violet Leaf Hair Balm 60 ml

Feels good with my thick and unruly, coarse hair. It makes it less frizzy and less dry looking and I really like the earthy scent. Would definitely recommend it, even though it contains alcohol (third ingredient on the list). But I could not find anything similar up to now.

Does exactly what it says on the tin!

I have frizzy hair, baby hair, and a fringe to go along. This works so well at helping maintain and control all these things. Its creamy and does not leave any residue! Its a little pricey but it works and I love it. It does have a green juice smell but that just makes me want to drink one!

Extremely buttery and hydrating

I love this product, its very buttery and hydrates my stressed out curls. Smells like a garden too :)

Futile product, never again

Not sure the point of this product, didnt smooth the simplest of flyaways, unusual fragrance and the tiniest of jar for a hefty price. Absolute snake oil

The 'Violet Leaf Hair Balm' is described as a product that is designed to give volume and control over fine and or unruly hair. I had tested this product on two occasions and found varying results with concerns to this product's "success" in achieving said description. On the first go, I tried it with clean shampoo-ed and conditioned hair. I found the hair balm to be resistant to application through my hair with problematic tugging and rough application, very different from my initial experience. The hair balm has shown signs of leaving my hair more moisturised, so it has worked partially as a leave in conditioner. The smell is a mix of aromas, a result of the ingredients that include certain herbs, and is quite pleasant. Overall, the product is definitely recommended, however, it does come at a slightly higher cost than other leave in conditioners or similar styling products like argan oils and hair creams. The product is not intended to give a lot of hold on its own, so for those looking for such characteristics, you would need to finish your hairstyle with other supporting styling products like hair waxes and hairsprays. As for those that are looking for sleek, less extreme hairstyles and good pre stylers, this is the product for you.

Secret ingredient

I bought this product on a whim. During the pandemic barbers were closed and I needed a way to manage my hair. I have very coarse and thick, frizzy hair. I tend to stay away from gels and pomades and was looking for a new hair cream to add to my collection. This baby really surprised me. It has a scent that I find very pleasant (but you may not, it smells like a green juice haha) and it provided my hair with a surprising amount of hydration. It leaves the hair with a very soft hold that creates a very nice tousled look. I noticed that this product helped me a lot with my frizz. I also noticed it’s hardly ever in stock! My only complaint would be that I wished there was more than 60 ml in the jar. Can Aesop supersize me?

Shiny, soft, manageable hair

This is the second time I've bought Aesop's Hair Cream and I would go on an on about how well my hair behaves; and how the shine doesn't disappear; and there's no frizz even though I live at the beach; and I can style my hair and it stays in place; but I have limited space.I have thin, abundant white (gray) hair that isn't straight...just sort of wavy, and this is an amazing product for my hair. I hope it works for you

Smells like wet nature

Super small and smells like leaves. Literally smells like a bad camping trip. It does soften hair but it’s not worth the terrible smell

The smell.....

I'm sure this is great ingredient wise but the smell is awful. It smells of strong carrots almost. Haven't felt this nauseous since I had morning sickness. I wanted to use it on the wispy fly away baby hairs at the front of my head so there's no escaping the smell.
