Adjustable Stainless Steel Safety Razor - 6S Rockwell Razors

Bought this after loving the Rockwell 2C (giving that to a friend). Wish I had started with this razor (or the 2C) first… Much more flexibility to find what level of aggressiveness works. I like my Hensen AL13 - but that’s best for daily shaves when whiskers are short. This is (or the cheaper 2C) should be the first razor you buy if you are thinking to start de razor shaving.

An excellent piece of design and engineering

This is a technically excellent razor, or rather a razor system. It comes attractively packaged with full instructions and I found that it was no hassle changing the plates between passes in the middle of shaving. Although I have fairly sensitve skin the quite aggressive R4 plate seemed best suited and I wonder if those with really tough beards might require an additional (non-existent) R7/R8 plate. There might be a case for manufacturing such an 'add on' stainless plate to cater for them. I did not care for the Rockwell razor blades supplied and prefer to use Astras, Voshkods and Bic Chromes in this razor.Overall, I was very happy even though the price of the 6S is quite steep (but better value than an Edwin Jagger 3One6). Extremely customizable!

This is an amazing razor that I would recommend to anyone wanting to get into DE shaving, even as a beginner. I love having the option of multiple plates to adjust the aggressiveness of the shave. It’s like having several razors in one. I use the R2 and R3 plates for when I shave daily, and use the R4 and R5 plates if I have several days worth of stubble. This razor is also very receptive to the blade that you use, so it is very customizable to the type of skin/hair you have. The stainless steel construction will last a long time and adds a nice weight to your shave.

If you are debating on whether to get the Rockwell 6C or the 6S - get the 6S. You will not be disappointed. This razor has absolutely everything you need for a fantastic shave. Great "all-in-one" safety razor

The Rockwell 6c safety razor is an "all-in-one" adaptable shaver. The plates are interchangeable, and the number you see once it's assembled is the one that makes up the setting you've chosen.I change plates depending on whether my beard is 1, 2, 4 or even 7 days old. In the latter case, I use #5 or #6 for the first pass, then #4 and then #2.Efficient and comfortable shaving for me with Astra blades. As I have a strong beard and sensitive skin, the blades supplied with the razor (also Rockwell) pull more than they cut in certain areas of my face (my chin, for example). It's up to you to try out different blades to see what suits you best.In short, I really like this razor, because it gives a good shave in all circumstances.

Great performing and very nice looking razor

This is the first time I’m using a 6S. I do have a 6c which I use a lot since it always gives me consitent and carefree shaves. The matte 6S looks stunning. Really beautiful. The weight is very nice and I had excellent shaves with it. Only thing that I notice is that the coating on the bottom place where the handle is touching is already showing some wear after a few uses. The coating is wuite course which could explain the wear. My 6c has similar issues. I hope this can still be improved, or that a plastic washer can be provided or incorporated ij he top of the handle to prevent this wear.

Being stainless steel this finish all over is matt grey, tactile and grippy. The 6C version being the more visually attractive to some if you display your razors in the shave den but that is down to personal choice.Overall a 6S or 6C has all the bases covered in safety razor design from the ease of use to giving perfect shaving results.You can buy this razor with confidence as a total beginner and get the immediate benefits of making the change from carts to d/e razor shaving or add it to an established collection as a totally worthy addition.I would rate it as a 9.8% out of ten, the last .2% being taken down as some reviews I have seen state that an extra base unit giving a level of a 7-8 aggression level could be an optional extra.

The way the razor looks online is great but holding it is so sweet, it feels so good, I am very happy with my decision to have purchased it. Like I've seen mentioned here by others Dave is a super easy person to deal with and has always treated me with excellent service.
