Mask came from China in reasonable time. NO INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED. Arrived with both organic/fume filters and particulate cover filters for the organic/fume filters. The particulate filters look like they can be gently washed, dried and re-used. The organic filters use activated charcoal and work until all the trapping sites in the charcoal are occupied- then they must be replaced (like point of use water filters) . Notes: The fume filters are mounted on the mask so that the large edge is toward the back. Slip the 3 mounting tabs into the 3 slots and rotate about 90 degrees to lock them into position. Separate the particular filter holders and put a white filter in each. The particle filter holder/filter slides over the fume filter with a tight friction fit. ... MoreMask came from China in reasonable time. NO INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED. The mask parts come in a resealable plastic bag- put the assembled mask back in it when not in use. Even better put the mask/bag into a resealable 1 gallon freezer bag. Press-Seal both bags. If the mask is not stored like this the activated charcoal will slowly fill with molecules that diffuse in from the room where it is stored until there is no more space for to catch fumes when you need it! The particle filter will continue to function.

I have a home remodeling business. I have bought many brands of half-face respirators. It was a good day when I discovered the 3M brand. The 3M brands - 6000 series, 7000 series - are very durable. The material in other brands' respirators I have bought degrade with time, they become sticky and begin to slough off. Not the 3Ms.The range of filters is a plus. They are easy to switch out. I always buy the P100s - effective against particulates (silicas, fiberglass, sawdust, asbestos, lead). The organic vapors filter will also block all PVC dope fumes, gasoline, kerosene, solvent, you name it. I have used this respirator to work with hydrochloric acid > clorine vapor reactions in open air, when I had a customer who had hundred-year-old bathroom tile she wanted to ... MoreI have a home remodeling business. I have dropped them off ladders. Other respirators cut into the bridge of the nose but not this one.And no, it is not an expensive buy. You can buy something cheaper, have it cut your nose and turn to pulp in a year, or you can buy one of the 3M models and use it for three or four years.

This is the only under welding helmet face mask/respirator that directs your breath down and away from the welding helmet or face shields viewing area/lens I could find.I wasn't sure if I needed the large, medium or small until I found a comment from 3M saying that the medium fits the majority of people. The strapping system looks and feels fragile but knowing this and once I adjusted both straps to feed the bottom neck strap a more it hasn't been a problem. In fact once the neck strap is on, the top strap goes on and comes off quite easily and lays the mask on the chest/neck comfortably.Mask fit is much more comfortable then my dual side cartridge (expensive) respirator and my single front filter respirator.Eye wear sits on nose piece slightly but for me its not ... MoreThis is the only under welding helmet face mask/respirator that directs your breath down and away from the welding helmet or face shields viewing area/lens I could find.I wasn't sure if I needed the large, medium or small until I found a comment from 3M saying that the medium fits the majority of people. The strapping system looks and feels fragile but knowing this and once I adjusted both straps to feed the bottom neck strap a more it hasn't been a problem. This mask comes with two, very easy to install, anti particle cartridges. Simply open the package, separate the two transparent plastic cartridge cups from each other, leaving the white filter pads inside of their respective cup. Next, line the filters up inside of the plastic cartridge cups so that they look completely flat inside of the plastic cartridge cups. Then, just take one plastic cartridge cup with the white filter pad inside of it and just snap it onto the front of the grey filter. That's how easy it is to put the filter together! The only thing you have to do now is take the assembled filter and fit it onto the mask. Once you have twisted both of the filters on, they may not look like they are completely even. This is normal and is nothing to worry about. Congratulations, you've just properly assembled your respirator and you are now ready to adjust the straps to fit your face and head snugly.
I am a retired EH&S consultant and have used several APRs since 1978 including various MSAs, Survivairs, Norths, Scott and older 3M designs. The 3M 7500 series is by a significant margin the most comfortable to wear. Because of the flexibility of the silicone and the feathered edge it conforms to face contours without excessive tightening of the head strap which translates into increased comfort .As a safety consultant, I have conducted hundreds of respirator fit tests over the years for dozens of clients and bring 7500 samples with me. Often I find one or two people who don't pass the fit test with the client's chosen respirator but pass with the 7500. I have used the 7500 for the last 20 plus years.
Worse than 6000 series for eye glasses wearers because the upper edge of the rubber is puffed up on 7000 series vs. very flat and sharp on 6000 series, thus making is hard for people. No doubt, the 3M 7000 series offer excellent face molding tightness and superior ease of put-on and take-off usage, but for the eye glasses wearers they are inferior. Because they are bulging on top edge, the glasses get pushed off of the nose (unless you wear a monocular that doesn't rely on nose bridge, or tiny glasses with nose bridge being high by eye-brows only.)
The mask itself is GREAT but I bought it to breathe fresh air that doesn't have VOC's, Fragrance, or Scents as I am very allergic to them. I am one of the millions of people in America who has allergies and asthma and/or Environmental Illness and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Even in the In the allergy clinics no one is supposed to wear any kind of fragrance. You could kill one of us by exposing us to it. I cannot have scented anything. From this mask is the strong odor of a cologne or perfume. It has made me sick and I have to be on Steroids now and antibiotics (sinus infection and asthma). Nebulizer for wheezing asthma and painful sinuses!!! I breathed it in and even my tongue burns and tastes awful (like metallic or chemical) due to the fragrance that was added ... MoreThe mask itself is GREAT but I bought it to breathe fresh air that doesn't have VOC's, Fragrance, or Scents as I am very allergic to them. The mask is meant to give you fresh pure air to breathe not poisoned air. I cannot wear this contaminated mask because it seems as if someone put fragrance in it which defeats the whole purpose of the mask. It's strong and it's awful, and dangerous for those with asthma and allergies. It has not worn off since I got it.....
I used one of these for 19 years for varnishing, spraying insecticides, etc. I noticed it had a tiny air leak on one side of the nose. I ordered a new one- same air leak. I ordered a different size -same leak. One side of the nose piece, where it folds over and meets the face, is slightly narrower on all three masks, hence the leak.I wear it in high Covid risk areas, and have sealed a HEPA filter over the exhale vent. It might not leak if you don't have something over the exhale vent- I only notice the leak on the exhale, and it really is tiny, and not constant. Would have given it 5 stars if not for that.
