I got this Seagate SSD with the intention of using it as an extra drive for my PS4, but I haven't had the chance to try it for that yet. I was amazed at how tiny it was, it's perfectly compact for travel and takes up hardly any space. I wanted to try it out, so I transferred some photos and files from an old laptop to see how it will perform. It was really easy to use, just plug it in and it's ready to go. It ran smoothly and transferred about 40GBs in under 5 minutes, that's fast. The only thing negative I can say about it so far is that I would have preferred a little longer cord, this one only allowed it to sit right next to the computer, I would have liked to be able to push it behind the laptop to be out of the way.Pros:1. Arrived amazingly fast from B & H. Simple set up on new Imac 27 into Windows 10, which now has a paltry 500GB internal SSD. Over 20yrs. of digital content as a pro photographer for 40 years and adding more every day from scans. This is now my main drive for the new computer. Extremely fast, easy to use, and loads scanned contact pages in seconds, not minutes. Desktop footprint is remarkably small and reduces the clutter from all my older mechanical drives that keep breaking. Just wish I could have purchased a 10TB unit at this price, but hey, this is priced much better than these types of drives were a year ago

Plugged this into my phone and my desktop. My desktop registered it as an empty disk drive and kept telling me to insert a disk into it. There is no media of any sort. Drivers are up to date, but the computer did not register it as a hard drive. The indicator light did not turn on at all. My phone didn't register it either. Hard pass on this product.

I had recently purchased the Seagate One Touch SSD Hard Drive after a friend recommended it. At first I was skeptical because I felt that all hard drives must be relatively similar. I am happy to admit that I went with the Seagate 1TB because it offered everything I was looking for and more. It is sleek looking first and foremost and was extremely easy to use. I actually was able to let my dad borrow it who has barely any technological background knowledge and he was able to transfer his files with ease. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend.
I don't always work in areas with great web/cloud access, and having a very portable, alternative backup is a must. This is great for my library of photos and documentation. Once I get back to web availability I can finish backups to the cloud. As with any backup, you should consider encryption - which slows things down a bit, but is much safer if you misplace the drive. I've had this for a while now, and it fits in my carry on without taking up noticeable room (like a couple thumb drives glued together).
This SSD does not come with password protection. Before I made the purchase I contacted Seagate and they told me it indeed comes with PW protection. Upon receiving it, there was no PW protection. I contacted Seagate again and they apologized for the bad info. We worked out a deal and I got a Lacie with PW protection. One more thing, Best Buy packaged this with no padding in the box. It arrived at my doorstep and rattled around in the large box. What's up with that? Hard drives should be packaged with padding!
The freedom to carry all of your data, literally in the palm of your hand.The ability to have 1 TB of space that can fit in your shirt pocket, or pockets of your pants and the short length of this cord make this a tremendous upgrade from previous digital storage I have used in the past.I was able to plug this in to my company laptop and personal PC and start using it right away. I was able to drag items into the folder and there it was with such ease. The size, literally physically and digitally, is just phenomenal. I highly recommend this, BUT be very careful because just as how easy it is to carry, it is just as easy to lose. It is more than fast enough for my needs, the attached screenshot from CrystalDiskMark shows the read/write speeds that I'm getting with my configuration, 432MB/s read and 340MB/s write. This was tested on my Microsoft Surface Laptop that is plugged into a docking station that has a USB 3.0 hub plugged into it, so I'm sure it could be faster if I plugged it directly into the computer, but the speed suits my needs just fine. The only part that I don't like about it is the USB port on the drive itself. It is the old style USB 3.0 port that looks like 2 plugs molded into 1 connector. I would have liked it ... The overall build quality is pretty good, I was concerned with the fabric covering at first, but now I don't think there will be any issues with it. It is a tiny well built external SSD that has ample storage space and seems to be quite durable. I expect this to last for many years of daily use.
The most incredible feature of this drive is its size. Seagate claims it fits in the palm of your hand and they are not joking. You can literally fit 1TB of data in the palm of your hand. Also, the device is super light and has an attractive fabric detail on the sides for added grip, which is nice given its small size. The drive is also lightening fast via both usb-c and usb-a. Definitely a keeper—I am going to use it back up my photos!
