18V One+ HP Compact Brushless One-handed Reciprocating Saw

Pretty nice for a free tool. Delivery was too fast. I paid $99 for two (2) 4AH batteries and one free tool, The invoice indicated I saved $289. Item required delivery, same day. Estimated at 10 hours later, delivered in less than 1 hour.Having read reviews indicating the original Zerk connector was suspect, I changed it out without ever testing. Luckily I had just purchased an import quick locking collett connector for about six (6) bucks.This thing cranks out the grease and makes so much pressure it exploded my needle syringe fitting for greasing non zerk ball joints.Note the battery slot tool hanger, it works perfect for odd shaped heavy tools and was available here for less than $10 in a 2x pack.

Be cautious. Get Locktite

The tool (type) was recommended to me by my furnace repairman. He said it is the best tool he ever bought. Pretty close you being right.It has made short order of several projects.1. trees that decided to start in the backyard and heavy, fibrous vines on the barn.2. Cutting up an old couch into pieces that first into the weekly trash.3. Cutting up one of those white plastic 4-ft tables, including the legs.So, why the 3 stars? It will come apart! Somewhere in a a pile of brush the foot and the set screw holding it came out and are lost. Seventeen dollars later this screw is getting the Locktite. Any other part that can loosen gets the same treatment.The other reason is Ryobi 18V One in general. The battery fit of the tools totally sucks buttermilk! On other tools you have to scream and yank. Others need coaxing from a screwdriver between the tool and battery. The problem isn't the batteries; the castings inside different tools isn't correct. Sone take more trimming than others!The main point is that WE shouldn't have to do it! Ryobi should.

Easiest pruning saw I've ever used.

I've used Ryobi 18v tools for over 25 years. Lithium 4ah batteries renewed my collection, but the innovation in the One+ line keeps me hooked. This one-handed saw is perfect. My two 18v reciprocating saws need two hands, and my pole saw is great for high branches but tough for close ones. With this tool, I’ve pruned 5 low branches and removed 10-15 sucker bushes from foundations. It makes work quick and easy. Highly recommend it.

Meh, just meh that's all

Bought mine on Ebay, still in box, for $49.99. Simply put ryobi tools are kids toys. Made to use once, put in a cabinet and never to be touched again. I personally use this recip saw on a jobsite to cut returns in coffin boxes, cut 2x4s, cut metal studs, and is still holding up. Most definitely not for jobsite and everyday hard use that's for sure. But it gets the job done. For 129, at the home depot price, your better off getting a dewalt or something better that will last you a lifetime.

Quite the game changer for yard work!

Got this Ryobi one-hand reciprocating saw recently and went out to the yard to test it out... I honestly wish I had picked this unit up YEARS ago! Branches that would have been a hassle to deal with using the two-handed reciprocating saw have no chance against this baby! I can use this for HOURS before fatigue sets in, and its more maneuverable than its larger sibling by far! Nothing compares when it comes to removing small branches either. Also makes cardboard box remediation a BREEZE!

Next I loaded a blade for wood and immediately noticed it didn't have the nice stay-open blade clamp like on the P517, that was disappointing. I had a few small little logs (about 4-5" around) I wanted to cut to more manageable size and tried to cut them, I was surprised by the lack of power for what seemed like it should be a rather basic cut. It did make it through them but I just had higher expectations than what the tool delivered. Then I started to think perhaps it was the wood I was cutting which was really hard giving me issue so I switched to the P517 and went through the same piece of wood in seconds. I get that the PSBRS01B is a lighter, less powerful tool than the standard reciprocating saw but $30 more I feel like you are getting a heck of a lot more tool in the P517.Another aspect of this tool which I knew going into it that I don't like is the fact that the HP tool doesn't take advantage of the HP batteries like I would have expected. There are no contacts on the tool to take advantage of the HP batteries like are on the P517.Overall, I guess I would recommend the tool for someone who either needs very simple cuts or has a hard time wielding the larger two handed reciprocating saws. If you can handle the larger ones I would definitely recommend those over this one.

Will NEVER EVER buy another Ryobi product again

I was in the market for a cordless reciprocating saw and asked friends for a recommendation. Some mentioned Ryobi, so I bought this. This is the worst tool I've ever purchased. The battery does not come off easily for charging. I mean, if you can get it off at all. So, I asked friends in my home improvement group about it, and found that they all had the same problem with it. Something is really not right with a tool that makes it nearly impossible to get the battery off to charge it.

This product, as delivered was the tool only with a 6-inch saw blade for wood cutting included. I tested it with a RYOBI 1.5 Ah Lithium Ion battery, Model No PBP002. The saw, itself weighs about 3.8 pounds. With the battery and supplied blade installed, the combination weighs a light 4 pounds, 8 ounces. With the battery installed, the saw without the blade, is about 13.75 inches long, maximum, quite compact. The saw stroke length is 5/8-in. and provides up to 3000 strokes per minute at low vibration. The saw includes a handy LED light to illuminate the work area. Blade changes are very easy, done by the flip of the blade clamp lever. The handle is very comfortable, it being covered with a soft-grip material that is appropriately durable. The packaging claims 100+ cuts per charge using a 4.0 Ah battery for white pine 2x4-inch dimension lumber. This product includes a limited 3-year limited warranty, details not included in the package. Overall, based on my limited use, this is a very good product and a handy addition to my handyman toolbox.

compact in size,, heavy duty performance

I've had several recips, and have had a few of these newer compact one handed ones too, and they usually are a waste w no cutting power n garbage cut lengths, but this is a great powerful saw for any job all day! if you don't have one, get one.
