Yellow Tail Cabernet Sauvignon

I first tried this wine when after I bought a bottle for an Aussie named Rick Springfield. Lol He was having a Meet and Greet and loves red wine. Australian wine seemed appropriate as a gift. I later decided I'd better see if, even though he was gracious about it, if what I gave Rick was any good. I was pleasantly relieved and quite enjoyed the wine myself. It was smooth and full of rich, bold flavor. I've since enjoyed several bottles even though I generally go for whites.

Now I'm not a big fan of red wines but THIS wine here. Omg is amazing for red wine. It has a slight sweetness NO tartness. Which surprised me because every red wine I've tried had a real strong tartness. Definitely not this brand of Yellow Tail Red Wine. It's sort or sweet,with an earthy follow up followed by a slight kick. Definitely recommend

While Australian wines are not typically my favourite, I admit I've consumed more than my fair share of yellow tail. Part of it is the price point - very reasonable if you're looking for a table wine. It is easy to find and a brand I am familiar with. The downside is there are better bottles for the same price, so I find it isn't my go to. But if you're looking for a well priced and very drinkable bottle I would say give this a go.

For all of the red wine lovers out there, this is such a great affordable option for you. This wine is rich and smooth, with juicy red berries and hints of liquorice and spice. Enjoy with steak or in front of a roaring fire. I personally enjoy this wine anywhere.

Like others have mentioned, the Yellowtail brands seems to have a little trouble with wines that taste flat. I think this is more prominent in their whites rather than their reds.They're Shiraz is a really good exception to this. It doesn't compare to higher end wines in terms of me finish it leaves, but it's decent. I would characterize this wine to be nearly medium-bodied, so it's more than worthwhile to serve it to guests when you have company over. It's medium-bodied, but the tannins aren't extremely harsh in the way that you find it to be with similarly priced wines. But you'll still have tannins, of course.I would recommend this wine over Charles Shaw Shiraz. It's a few dollars more, but worth it if you're entertaining. I love the Yellow Tail Shiraz wine. Red wines are my favorite and I appreciate the great flavor that the Yellow Tail Shiraz has. I believe it's blackberries and plums. But it's hard for me to decipher. A 4oz glass is less than 100 calories. I would definitely purchase this wine again and it cost around $10 a bottle. I believe is an excellent price for such a great tasting wine. It tastes so good that I don't even bring it out for gatherings. I keep it for my personal Indulgence when I'm having my me time. I love to pair this Shiraz with popcorn and a book or one of my favorite shows. I highly recommend the Yellow Tail Shiraz and I will definitely be purchasing it again. Honestly, I'll be purchasing it on a regular basis

A Matter of Taste

Whether you like a wine (or not) is very often a matter of taste. Some wines are obviously terrible, this one is not in that category. However I don't like it and the reason is the taste of vanilla, which I don't like in wines (fantastic in ice cream, custard etc.)Many wines give a clue to this attribute in their descriptions i.e. hint of oak etc. but the description given on this wine bottle does not (if it had I would not have purchased it)I won't slate it because that would not be fair, given that many drinkers seem obviously to like this flavour. The point of my review is simply to highlight this fact and warn other anti over oaked vanilla haters that it probably won't suit their taste.

Good wine

I hadn’t purchased Yellow Tail Merlot in quite a while, so bought several bottles recently. This is a lighter, very smooth Merlot without that slight peppery kick found in many of these wines, which I generally like. This Merlot goes well with lighter fare such as roasted pork, grilled pork tenderloins, balsamic glazed chicken. I had forgotten how much I like this wine and will keep a few bottles in the wine rack.

One of the best

Offered this wine to guests from France and they loved it! And no, they weren’t just being polite, Haha, they were honestly impressed. You really can’t beat the price either. Never pay too much for wine; this is still more expensive than what we buy in France and definitely just as good. I find this YT is one of our favorite reds too because it actually has a ‘cork,’ not like the pinot noir which is a screw top.
