This new fragrance launched by Yves Saint Laurent is a nice, refreshing, laid back everyday fragrance. This scent makes me smile and when I smell it, I think of a gentleman in 75 degrees next to a beach, with white linen trousers, shirtless, and sexy. Middle notes of geranium, mint, juniper berries, and lavender. Base notes of olubanum and cedar. I have been testing this product for a couple of weeks to see how it performs on my skin. It starts off with an initial, very fresh opening and the first spray gives a slight alcoholic blast that disappears as quickly as it comes, leaving just the freshness of the lemon and ginger with a slight pepper undertone thay gives it a semi-darker tone. After about ~3-5 mins the juniper berry starts to come through with a bit of lavender and geranium not far behind it. The fresh lemon opening lasts for the first hour and a half or so for me and begins to fade a bit, showing more of the green/woodsy/herbal notes. The drydown of this is actually very wonderful and compliment getting. The fresh aromatics of the mint, lavender , and juniper berry blend VERY nicely with the soft notes of cedar and gives an approachable vibe. What surprises me is even in the drydown, I still get whiffs of the lemony opening which is incredible seeing as it's usually the first note to go in other fragrances. The fragrance is masterfully blended and smells very natural as opposed to more synthetic fragrances. YSL Y Eau Fraiche is masculine, fesh, approachable, and bold. It has a very pleasant scent appropriate for summer and higher temperature climates, along with the warmer end of spring. It is versatile and leans more on the casual side. I can see myself wearing this fragrance on a day out on the beach, on an errand, perfect for any occasion during the day. The scent for me is 8.7/10 because it is unique, safe/inoffensive, and has a cooling effect in the heat. Longevity for me is about 5-6hrs until it becomes a skin scent, which is great considering I've tested this in 75-89 degree Fahrenheit with semi-humid weather. The sillage for me is pretty moderate; not too loud, but makes its presence noticeable in a 3-4ft radius with 3/4 sprays. Overall, I really enjoy this scent and it has become a staple in my summer rotation along with my Sauvage EDT and DG Light Blue Intense. I highly recommend it, even as a blind buy.

After that it becomes a skin scent. Tip: Use an unscented lotion first and then spray on, that should prolong your fragrance. Who it’s made for: Any guy can wear this but this is perfect for boys in high school to guys in their mid 20’s. Occasion: I wear this just to run quick errands and even to the gym. Amazing summer scent. The opening of the fragrance is breathtaking, nice lemon with a mixture of ginger giving it this fresh spicy opening, and also this frosted type of lemony smell and juniper berries nuances. As you approach the mid of this fragrance, you pick up more minty vibes with a nice mixture of geranium and lavender. The dry down of this fragrance is a slighty woody. Top notes: Lemon, Ginger, and Pepper. Mid notes: Geranium, Mint, Lavender, and Juniper berries. Base notes: Cedar and Olibanum. Perfumed by presumably Dominique Ropion since he worked on the other Y fragrances.

Best Fragrance for Spring/Summer

Purchased this fresh scent for my brothers' 50th bday after trying the other Y scents from YSL. I chose it over the others while wearing a face mask if you can believe it. I have been vaccinated so I took off my mask just briefly to sniff the scent card again just to make sure it's the right fragrance notes I was experiencing and I was utterly blown away at how amazing it smelled. None of the other "fresh or clean" scents from other brands came close to this. I could not stop smelling it. Becoming a unique refreshing cologne with this crisp undertone that is almost a little like a fall scent. It is amazing and another great product by YSL the only thing I can mention that might sway customers away is that the longevity of it isn’t going to last 48 hours like some but that’s the good thing. Two sprays lasted me a whole day and it was strong at first then got soft but strong enough for those who got in intimate spaces of the wearer. So I honestly loved all of it.
