I wanted to like this game more than I did. I miss the older wrestling games that had more of a "pick up and play" arcade feel. At first glance, this definitely looks to be that type of game. I suppose it is, and it's fun for a little while...but I quickly found myself getting bored. The biggest problem, however, is the clear intent of the developers to try and get you to spend more money. All (or at least most) of the wrestlers that you really want to play as are locked. You CAN unlock them just by playing, but you'll have to play for a VERY long time to earn the points you need. It's clear that 2K would prefer that you just pay them more. That, along with some other issues, kills any fun the game may have provided.

If you understand what you’re getting in this package, then you won’t be disappointed. This is 100% an arcade style game. Not as good as the old game WWE All Stars, but cool for some quick fun. Has a good, deep roster, with a lot of WWE legends, but most of it is locked. The good thing is you can just play matches in the game to get game points to unlock the characters, and they aren’t stuck behind a pay wall. My copy came with a code inside to use WWE legend EDGE with it, so that was pretty cool. Overall, A fun party game or good in short bursts for a quick play session here and there.

Great game, better than the prior 2K WWE games.
4 October 2020

This game is more arcade style compared to the prior 2K WWE games. The controls are easy to use. Each wrestler has a different skill set, but you generally play all the wrestlers the same way. The good news is that the game doesn't have that awful lag, like the prior games, which were horrible. The concept of the games is still basically the same, you have a campaign (story mode) and exhibition mode, and you have to win to make money so you can unlock the other wrestlers. I do miss the ring entrances from the prior games, but overall this game is much better compared to the prior 2K WWE games.

I love WWE but not this game
24 November 2020

I wanted to love this game so much. It’s fun to a point but quickly becomes more of a chore to play. There is only a handful of characters at first you can earn more wrestlers by earning gems through playing the game or through using real life money to buy coins. The catch is if your not connected to the internet you cannot earn gems or experience. Most of the time a message will flash is your internet is disrupted but it’s easy to miss. So being a hardcore wrestling fan with terrible internet connection I’ve spent $100 of my own money to purchase coins to unlock wrestlers. But cash won’t buy you happiness in this game. There is plenty of wrestlers to unlock by playing through the campaign. Guess what the campaign is simple until you reach Brock lesnar then the difficulty jumps from like 3 to 9. It’s tough. I don’t mind a challenge but what I don’t like is spending 3 weeks in the same spot. I’lol fight Brock 4or 5 times then when I get frustrated I leave the game a come back a few days later to try again. Ok I good gamers and sure maybe I’m not good at this game but it should not be that difficult that early in the campaign. Plus I know when I do finally beat Brock I probably won’t get any gems or experience because of poor internet connection. As a WWE game I want to give this 5 stars because I love this games idea. But because of the horrible difficulty curve, the must have internet connection to earn any gems or experience and the fact that due to these other issues you need to use real world money to unlock characters because it takes to long to earn gems. I do not recommend this game.

It’s ok. But far from perfect
2 October 2020

I’ll just cut straight to the point with this game. It’s a brand new style, it’s refreshing for an wrestling fan, and a lot of fun. I can best describe this game as “cartoony” and “kid friendly”.My gripes/cons:1. You start off with a very limited roster( about 15 playable wrestlers) and the rest, you have to unlock with in-game currency called “battle bucks”2. There are very limited options available in the creation mode for your caws. Very frustrating. A lot of items have to be bought with your earned “battle bucks.”3. Inaccurate finishers for some superstars. For example, no swanton bomb, black mass, 619, mandible claw, lil Jimmy, or hogan big boot in this game. How some of these finishers were not included is beyond me.4. Pre existing superstars move sets, ... MoreI’ll just cut straight to the point with this game. Only Your created superstars attires are editable. Move sets are not customizable for ANY superstar. Not even your caws. The class you choose for your caw determines his/her move set. The battle ground has interactive elements to it. For example: you can throw your opponent Into an alligators mouth.4. Gauntlet matches are a lot of fun.5. You have to unlock most stuff using in game currency (or buy with real money) thus making it worthwhile to play the game countless hours.6. Power ups are a lot of fun to use during matches and an overall great feature for this game.OVERALL:this game is really fun and refreshing. Is it perfect? No. Are some things very frustrating? Yes. If your a die hard wrestling fan and have realistic expectations, then you will enjoy this game. If you’re a die hard wrestling fan and expect this game to be perfect, you will be disappointed. If your a patient person and don’t mind putting in some hours to unlock everything, you will enjoy this game. If your impatient and want everything unlocked quickly without having to put in some decent hours into the game, you will regret buying this game. As for me and my experiences so far this game, I’m thoroughly enjoying it.

Simple, Arcadic, And Fun.
11 November 2020

It was good, but it wasn't perfect. when you get the game it'll have its glitches and stuff, update it first then you should be able to play it just fine. soon as I got it I played it for about 4 or 7 hours, its very fun and simple to master. The problem that I have is the A.I. is repetitive, there are no random patterns. The patterns are very noticeable and it sometimes becomes frustrating since it ruins the fun. other than that this game is definitely worth trying if your looking for something different or out of your zone. The case comes brand new and the CD feels and looks brand new.

Terrible game
20 July 2021

Wrestling games should be fun and when made well, easy to play and with perfect controls. This is not that game. The issue is that we is trying to be like NDden or NHL and pump out a game every year. Video games typically need at least 2 years to make properly. So they either do what EA does and basically make the same game year after year with minor improvements and roster changes or they try to force out games that are fully cooked yet. (Cyberpunk, wwe games, etc. The 2k games were on the right track but it would be better if the WWE stopped trying to make annual games. Make them every two years and the quality will be much better. If you want a decent wrestling game, wait until next year or buy wwe 2k19. (NOT wwe 2k20)

I’ll start by saying I got this on Black Friday for like $16. With that in mind it’s not horrible. It’s an easy game to play however I was super disappointed that the cover had stone cold and the rock on the very front cover yet you have to unlock them in game by earning a ton of level up credits. Pretty annoying the front two cover people aren’t even playable for what feels like the a long time.Besides that personal complaint the gameplay tends to lag here and there and overall it’s just an okay experience. Too many characters to unlock costing too much money/or too much time grinding. It’s a wrestling arcade style game. Not an in depth story you sink hundreds of hours into. Unlock characters faster than a snails pace and I’d enjoy it better.Don’t but unless ... MoreI’ll start by saying I got this on Black Friday for like $16. With that in mind it’s not horrible. Typical 2k BS. This game, in theory, is not too bad. Problem with this game is the campaign mode. No one wants to use these stupid characters during campaign. why not just let you use your own created character. The campaign mode AI is ridiculous. Like typical 2K fashion, when they want you to lose, you will. They will reverse all your moves, and all of sudden they AI is fighting like a god. When they want you to win, it's the worst AI in the world. This is typical 2K tactics to put the player on tilt so that they are inclined to start spending their bucks, or even purchase more to advance their characters sooner so they don't have to play that stupid campaign mode to unlock other characters.
