I have a high quality knife set from a competitor brand. I bought the set twenty years ago. After the handle on my utility knife broke, I bought a replacement from the competitor brand. I was immediately disappointed that the quality and craftsmanship was not as good as my existing set. Then, I saw that the knife was made in Spain (not Germany like the rest of my set). I will admit that I looked at the competitor brand offerings first. I noticed another set at a higher price that was made in Germany (not Solingen). Since I'd never been enamored of my existing knife set, specifically the handle, I decided to purchase another utility knife from Wusthof. It functions way better than my other knife and feels better in the hand too! When I finish my kitchen renovation, I will be buying a full set of Wusthof knives. Thank you for not succumbing to "shareholder value" like the competitor brand.

Hi!I’ve enjoyed all the reviews. I noticed that most of them are from women my age. You ladies ROCK! You all give yourselves “intermediate” chefs. No way. I’ve been to your homes and your family has eaten all those delicious meals you make every day. You are definitely not intermediate, give yourself a big boost, you deserve it. You really are an expert. First of all, like me, you picked quality items for your kitchen. I love my WUSTOF knives! It’s just me and my husband now. Every now and then I catch him taking a knife to the garage…..a great attestment to their sharpness. They really do cut just about everything, ask my husband how many times he’s taken one to the garage without me knowing. Thirty years of this great knife and I’m sure thirty more! Let’s raise ... We just replaced this knife, courtesy of Wusthof's warranty, after 17 years of use. The blade was still in perfect condition, just the handle needed replacing. What quality! It's handy to have a serrated knife around the kitchen for a bagel, a lemon, etc. It works well for carving pumpkins too! You can't beat the quality of Wusthof, and I would recommend the Classic series knives. Hand-washing is a good idea, but no problem putting them in the dishwasher when needed.

The handle on my original 3-1/2 pairing knife started cracking after 40+ years of use plus the blade was wearing out. Hubby and I have only Wusthof knives in the knife block. Yes, Wusthof knives are pricey but well worth it; if not abused, these knives will last a lifetime. Wusthof is a company that cares about the quality of their products and their customers satisfaction. The customer service team is wonderful to work with, very helpful and respectful of their customers.
We have loved our Wusthof knives we received as a generous wedding gift for over 17 years. Several weeks ago a chunk of the handle on a smaller utility knife fell off without dropping or damaging it beforehand. Wusthof customer service was easy to reach and very understanding. They had us send in our knives and determined the handles had a problem covered by their lifetime warranty - and replaced them all with new knives!!! So yes, these knives might be more expensive than some, but I see it as an investment as their quality is exceptional and guaranteed for life, and good knives make cooking so much more enjoyable! We don’t use the paring knife as often as the chef, 5-inch serrated utility or bread knives, but when we do need it, it’s useful and sharp.
I love the colour, and the knife is beautifully sharp as expected. I only rated it a 4 stars because the company will not sell the knife block that is sold in the complete kit, separately. I purchased the set of these knives as separate items and was hoping to be able to buy the white-ended timber block to compliment them but apparently it's not possible which is a damn shame.
I had this knife as part of a whole set that I received in 1997. Somehow, our little beloved paring knife disappeared. I ordered this one to replace it. The new one does not cut as well as the 2 larger paring knives I have from the 1997 set that have never been sharpened. I actually mutilated an apple and switched to my older paring knives to finish cutting it up. I had very high expectations based on my old set ... not sure why this one doesn't hold up or even perform better...
Gorgeous! SO sharp! Design is so smoothly beautiful. Feels fantastic in the hand. The purple is awesome. Use this knife daily, and it makes me smile! Effortlessly slices through a cherry tomato - paper thin slices. Great for trimming meat.
The knife appears to be fine. It was purchased because my original knife, only three years old, snapped in half when cutting parmesan cheese. I returned the old knife for credit in accordance with Wusthof's policy but have not been contacted about that, nor did I receive the promised credit. Unsatisfactory service given the price of the product.
