Workbench With Pegboard and Drawer

Delivery was very quick. The product looked flimsy but once put together it is very sturdy. Easy to assemble although two panels on the drawer needed to be on opposite sides but that was easy enough to work out. Overall I’m very happy with this product considering the price. Of course I won’t be doing any heavy duty construction on the bench top but for light work it’s absolutely perfect.

While the quality of the product appears to be up to expectation, I was disappointed with the assembly instructions which resulted in considerable additional time in assembly and some re-working to achieve the correctly assembled product.. The print size of the instructions was far too small to be read easily as well as being confusing. Drawings were far too small and did not adequately show the necessary detail; as well some drawings were completely wrong. I eventually managed to get it right without the instructions. In the end, there was one piece left over with nowhere to position it and no mention of it in the instructions. Absolutely useless.

The steel work is uselessly thin and weak, and is totally inadequate for any purpose associated with a bench or even shelving. The MDF board offered for the shelves, the bench top, and the tool peg board is so thin as to be barely able to support itself and is already beginning to warp and buckle without any actual use. This is made worse by the absence of any center supports for the shelves and bench top. When closing the drawer, the right hand drawer runner jams at the last 30 mm requiring a very firm push to close - enough of a push to move the entire bench. The drawer is made of the same flimsy steel as the rest of the frame and is prone to distortion. The floor of the drawer is mad of very thin MDF board without any center support or fastenings. It is not capable of holding anything with any weight. e.g. tools. The advertised load bearing strength of 150 kg is grossly overstated. A weight of 20 kg placed on the bench top, caused a very noticeable strain on the entire structure. Assembling the unit was fiddly and awkward and the assembly kit was incomplete being short of a number of the bolts and nuts. The number of flat washers were short by 21 pieces. The flat head screws were missing altogether. 16 x M4 x 10mm bolts and nuts were included but appear to have no application in this bench, as is also an included piece of thin angle steel 245mm long with elongated holes at each end. Overall the unit is so cheaply made and lacking quality control that it is useless for its advertised purpose.

Disappointed

This workbench is suitable only for the lightest of tasks. The work surface, bottom shelf and drawer bottom material is too thin. To keep these surfaces from sagging from any appreciable weight (like a scroll saw or belt sander) they will have to be reinforced or replaced altogether with something like 1/2" thick plywood. The pegboard hole spacing does not match that of "standard" pegboard. As a result, most pegboard hangers requiring two adjacent holes are rendered unusable.

Fairly lightweight but fits the price. Construction isn't simple.

It is a very good value item for the price. It took more than 3 hours to put together - which was fun (since I like puzzles). The instructions could be improved. In particular, this info would have saved some time: - There are 3 different kinds of piece #11 (the smaller one goes with the top small shelf - paired with #10 ; the one with the hole in the centre goes at the back/top of the base unit - the hole used to pair with the pin-board hole using the small metal two-holed rectangle). - The sliders for the drawers can be separated using a small plastic clip/level - which you have to do in order to fit the small bolts. - The small slider pieces go with the drawer and the large pieces go with the frame. - The frame pieces that hold the drawer are fitted in what ... MoreIt is a very good value item for the price. Highly recommended

This workbench is a great product, especially for the price. It's a lot bigger than it looks in the description & the extra draw is just perfect for your job's in progress with easy access to all your tools in one place, the peg board is an added bonus for your hands on tools at a moment's notice. It's made of sturdy black enamel steel frame which bolts together quite easily, if you're a backyard carpenter or a professional mechanic. I'm sure you'll find this workbench value for your money, 100% recommended!

The assembly instruction

I found the assembly instruction very hard to understand and not at all actuate. So much so I requested other instructions thinking I received the incorrect ones only to receive the exact same instructions. I eventually figured out how to assemble the bench but found the instructions completely useless. Once it was assembled it was fine. Exactly what I was looking for. Just needs better assembly instructions.

Very good product, once personally improved

The product conforms to the description. However the record is not clear at all (black and white images and 2cm by 2). In addition, the worktop is a poor plywood board 5mm thick. In other words, no work can be done on it. The work plan must be replaced immediately. For the price, suitable product but to embellish itself.

Work bench is not intended to use for work

Product is very flimsy. Drawer so thin that I bends and falls off rails with any kind of pressure or weight. Table top has no support in the middle which eliminates you from actually doing any work on it. This product should be showcased as a kids toy work bench.

Workbench Review

I found the product to be much cheaper than expected from the photos. Very lightweight metal as well as thin lightweight pressboard for shelves. If I could do over, I would spend the money on more heavier duty workbench. I'm afraid I cannot recommend purchasing it. Their customer service however, is fantastic.
