My house got broken into during last holiday season in 2019 so I installed a few of these (SWWHD-FLOCAM) around the house for deterrent (motion, inferred and sound sensors on the newer model floodlight) as well as real-time 24/7 monitoring with alerts using their apps. The main housing unit is made of some kind of heavy duty metal (not like cheap plastic) that can withstand many years of weathering..However, the bad reviews that you read about connectivity and app issues earlier this year are all true. It all started around May of 2020 when Swann had issues with one of its vendors that effected its app. As a result, my cameras were forced to their new app and that is when all of the issues started. I was not getting alerts anymore, the camera would frequently go offline and then I could no longer pair one of my camera. I spent endless hours updating the firmware, updating and re-installing their new app and resetting the units and on the phone with Swann’s tech support. I was considering writing 1 star review but wanted to give Swann more time to transition to a new vendor and app..After updating firmware and app, the camera seems to be working as before. However, Swann tech support could not pair one of the camera so they processed a warranty claim and sent me the newer model camera for free (but you need to return the old unit at your own expense). The new model (SWIFI-FLOCAM2) installed with no issues (just make sure your Wifi signal is strong where you plan to install the camera) and I love the new sound detector alert. Swann’s product is top notch with no hidden subscription fees and they stand behind their product.

Works on an off. Spent 1.5 hours on phone with service and all they want to do is tell you to pay for cloud storage. I had one of these for a few years and Never had to pay for cloud storage on the app and now I ordered two more and the box even says 7 days of FREE Rolling cloud storage and nothing about a trail period. Again I had the same light for a few years with No monthly fees. Now they are trying to make you pay monthly and I do not even know how much because the fees are not listed anywhere, not on the App or the Swann web site. VERY deceiving. Now what am I supposed to do with these 2 new lights that I did not install yet. I only bought them because of the FREE cloud storage. They do not work well enough to pay for anything extra!
