Over the past 50 years I have purchased and used many different BBQ’s but never a Weber. After my last purchase which was only three years ago, I decided that I would really investigate the best BBQ available regardless of cost. My decision was a Weber Spirit 2 E320. After ordering online the delivery was quick and efficient. My journey with Weber has been nothing but positive, starting with the packaging the quality shone through. The assembly instructions were simplicity itself to follow. I managed to put it together myself in just over two hours. The parts are all excellent quality, no mismatches with pre engineered holes and all the ‘bits’ were there, you even get a couple of extras which are noted as such, that shows a great eye for detail, thank you. After ... MoreOver the past 50 years I have purchased and used many different BBQ’s but never a Weber. It is hot and it does sear, after my last grill I have to get used to the better way of cooking , but I am really looking forward to that. My thoughts! Well I should have bought a Weber years ago, it would have saved me hundreds of pounds in the long run, there is no substitute for quality and Weber has this in abundance.

It's Brilliant. Quality shone through when assembling the product (which was an enjoyable process). Having used it three times the food is really tasty, almost tasting like it's been cooked on charcoal. It surprised me how quick it was to heat and also to cook. I cooked 2 pizza's on it on regular pizza oven trays and it cooked in 4-5 mins and bases were super crispy and tasted amazing. Cannot go wrong with this BBQ if you don't mind investing a little more than others.

Finding a natural gas grill at local stores isn't easy and the stores that sell grills aren't anxious to order for you. Amazon to the rescue. A few days after placing the order a large and undamaged box was mysteriously waiting at the front door. The next step is assembly. The assembly guide, included in the packaging, provides sufficient guidance to properly assemble the grill. (The guide mentions the BILT app to "enhance" your assembly experience.) I downloaded the app did but found it much less helpful than the assembly guide provided. I needed to take time studying the assembly guide which has good diagrams for correct assembly. The grill has many parts and I took my time for this process. The only problem I encountered was damaged parts. Luckily I was able to complete the assembly with the damaged parts and it was an easy process to switch out the damaged parts with the replacement parts Weber quickly provided. Finally it was time to use the grill. This is the best part. The grill is sturdy, fires up with the push of a button, heats up quickly and maintains the desired temperature with the help of the included thermometer in the lid. The grill gets sufficiently hot to properly sear meat and fish and the temperature can be easily adjusted. This model may be basis but it has all the performance necessary for great grilling. So far I'm very pleased and with my hands on assembly experience I expect it to last for many years.

It burns quickly, quite evenly and maintains heat well with the cover down. The thermostat is accurate for cooking purposes. It is easy to manoeuvre and the locks on the wheels are helpful once in position. The side tables are a good size and yet fold down for storage. The cover works well to keep the weather out. The only niggles, the front branded cover plate falls off the bottom of the barbecue most times it is moved. Shame it is not better fixed on. The lighting switch is temperamental, most times I resort to matches.
It's a very nice barbecue when it's working well, although the gas canisters make it a very expensive way to cook! However, in my experience, the Weber customer service is poor! I tried to replace my hose/regulator after a number of years. The threaded bit on what I imagine is called the intake valve - the brass part which the hose connects to - just snapped off (yes, I used plenty of WD40), leaving the broken bit inside the hose connector. A faulty part? Or perhaps a grossly overtightened nut when the barbecue was being assembled. In either case, Weber washed their hands of it because the barbecue was out of warranty. I suppose the lesson for any buyer, soon after taking delivery, is to check that any removable part can actually be removed. If you try to replace a part outside the warranty period, and find out only then that it's faulty, don't expect any sympathy from Weber!
BBQ arrived perfectly packaged but with lots of paint defects in the front frame, looks like the paint didn't adhere to the metal and is bubbling off. It's not just in one small location either so can't understand how QC didn't pick this up or how it was allowed to be packaged in this condition. Also very small defect in stainless-steel side shelf. Will hopefully both be replaced under warranty, but not what you would expect from an expensive Weber BBQ!. Frustrating as otherwise really pleased with the BBQ.
The Q2000 is a simple, yet well designed gas BBQ which does a perfect job of providing a lightweight, efficient and effective BBQ which does the job in true Weber style. Whilst the Stand appeared at first sight to look a bit flimsy and unstable , once assembled (which incidentally is very straightforward), it actually provides a sturdy and effective base for the BBQ without taking up unnecessary space although it would be helpful to have wheels to allow for easy transportation with the leg support still assembled. The tough steel cooking grates and cookbox ensure efficient, no mess cooking whilst the unique grease collection system makes cleaning very easy after use when compared to other similar BBQS. Assembly instructions pretty good. Wiring the igniter could have been clearer. There are 4 wires to connect 2 are colour coded and two are pre-connected, so no issue, the remaining two are identical thin wires so one has to assume polarity is not an issue and just use the last two spade sockets. A note to this effect in the manual would have helped (the manual wiring diagram just gave a number to each wire without saying where it came from). My previous BBQ (which lasted 14 years, came with piezo electric ignition which lasted the whole time (no battery needed). I was disappointed to find this BBQ required a battery. Finally my previous BBQ also had two good sized warming grills in the lid to keep food hot whilst cooking the remainder. This has only one which is about 3" above the hotplate which is too close, and is smaller. I was expecting Weber to go forwards not backwards and I do not want to pay up to 40% more for what I consider to be basic features (my Weber cost £740).Otherwise it looks a well made piece of kit except for not being able to house a 13kg gas bottle which is the de facto standard for bottled gas these days. Placing it outside creates a problem with the cover. I have not yet used it so a further review may follow!
I've had my Weber for over a year and it hasn't let me down. The build is exceptional and there's no rust. The grills are flat which is perfect for cooking on. Having 3 burners is great for large BBQs and just for the small BBQ one burner is more than enough. It heats up quite quickly with the lid on. I recently purchased a griller to sit on the grills so I can easily cook bacon, eggs, onions etc. I keep it clean using the the Weber Q & Pulse and their brushes which helps to maintain the new looking condition - oh and I have a cover!
Granted I have had the 2nd replacement BBQ 4 or 5 years now. The first was replaced due to paint peeling and the same with the second. This one however has surpassed the longevity of the other 2. There is a complete failure on the on/off switch, in so much as a) it is permanently on high and b) the only way to turn it off is by disconnecting it. For a small gas BBQ that now costs over £300 this is very dissapointing. I actually own 3 more Webers - a 59cm kettle, a 47cm smoker and a Q3200. There are no problems with the charcoal but with the gas Q3200 the ignition button failed almost immediately, which the part was replaced. This again failed within a very short period of time and I really couldn't be bothered to go through the same claims process, for it to happen ... MoreGranted I have had the 2nd replacement BBQ 4 or 5 years now. Stick to what you know best Weber, and concentrate on your charcoal and large gas ranges. Stop trying to cover every aspect of the market.
