The Dutch oven duo is a great pot for the grill. I cooked a pot of hickory smoked pork chili that turned out delicious. I have used the lid a couple of times to grill Johnny Rockets style griddle cooked burgers. The surfaces of the pot and griddle lid are porcelain and clean up easily. Just don't use abrasives or sharp metal tools on the surface. Both are cast iron and cook very evenly but they are heavy,

I have been envious of the Europeans who were able to buy the first generation GBS Dutch Oven. It had a simple handle in the middle of the lid that could be removed and held with one hand. That design makes it handy to check on and stir the food. The lid on the new Dutch Oven Duo takes two hands to remove. A bad design choice considering Weber offers a range of other planchas and griddles and another one was not needed.As a Dutch Oven, it works as expected. It would be five stars with a better lid.
I grill every chance I get -I have used this for months and have made everything from gumbo, chili, Shepard's pie, spaghetti sauce, to baked goods. This is a perfect pan for anyone who grills.
AFTER PERUSING AN ENDLESS LOOK/SEE TO LOCATE A BLACK HIGH HEAT RESISTENT GLOVE....AND FINDING EVERY OTHER PAIR NOT A MATCH FOR WHAT I WANTED (I had previously viewed hundreds and owned at least 20 pairs...I STUMBLED ONTO YOUR BRAND. They had many component aspects that I was looking for.....BLACK!!! & GOOD FLEXIBILITY AND A GLOVE, NOT A MITTEN. I ALSO LIKE THE ENDLESS DOTS ZZZZZZZZZZZ (i don't like the hearts that are pervading mainstream pairs) THAT hugely ALLOW THEM TO BE FLEXIBLE WHILE STILLLLL PROVIDING A CONSIDERABLE BUFFER TO THE HEAT. JMJ. Too early to tell as I’m still looking for Weber Recipes for it. I’m interested in Gumbo, Stew, Soup, Chili, Beans, etc. I’ve asked Weber Support with no reply. Will start my own I guess. Bought it for Football Tailgate get togethers.
The wording on the site is ambiguous. I used these last night to move a tin of potatoes from the kettle to the kitchen a short distance. My fingers were starting to feel very uncomfortable from the heat.They are sticky to put on as there is no lining.I'm very unhappy with them and the retailer has said they are not meant for moving hot tins though this is not mentioned on the description. My wife bought them on the understanding that they were suitable for moving all the kit and is like wise unhappy.Sorry Weber, your gear in general is good but these gloves are a failure.
It's a hefty piece of equipment! We've used the lid as a griddle, but are waiting for cooler fall temps before we use the kettle. Fun to play with, that's for sure!
An excellent piece of cookware. The flat lid even further enhances its utility. It is quite heavy, but cast-iron usually is. And the results are worth the extra effort to move the thing.
