Heats large room very well. I use 2 and heat my whole lower level. 1200sq ft. Keeps room temperature 72 degrees down to 40 degrees outside. Maintains 66 inside when temps drop below 30 degrees outside. They do run constant at those temps. My electric increased bout $ $100 a month. Which is substantially cheaper than the $400 plus i would be spending in heating oil. Only reason not a 5 star rating is because they are slightly loud with fan noise. The fans do spread air efficiently though.

I purchased this a few weeks ago. It heats up a room quickly via a steady current / column of heated air that in 20 minutes goes to every corner of the room. It's not as quiet as the V10 it's replaced. The noise however is not bad at all. It's a Grey noise and is soothing to have on in the background. Vornado has a excellent warranty which I have used for the last heater I had purchased so I decided to go again with them with this new model. It has a digital thermostat a timer and all the safety features too. I'm very pleased with this amazing heater & Vornado as a company.

I moved into a 23' Coachman Camper, so I could be closer to my mother. For the last 7-8 years, I've lived in poorly insulated to non-insulated (rent to own small buildings, couple small campers. As you know, campers have very little insulation. Heating with propane, using the existing central heat, would pro result in a $300-400/month propane bill. I purchased this small heater, not expecting much, as I have gone through 6 heaters in the last year (different makes and designs), all were subpar. This heater keeps my camper @74°, even when the temps get down to 17° at night (and it had several times this year). Great heater! I highly recommend it! The CFM of this hearer on high, will blow your hair back, which i need to reach all the nooks and crannies of a camper ... MoreI moved into a 23' Coachman Camper, so I could be closer to my mother. Contacted retailer Q&A to determine Wattage on low temp setting (was 750W). Med= 1250W; Hi= 1500W. Wasn't aware that Low is designed to reach a maximum of 60F. Contacted Cust SVC, agent stepped around it, 1st saying well... it's a whole room heater! So if the room temp is 50F, it will heat the WHOLE room to 60. Non-sequitur, began to talk about all the safety features, and somehow this is loosely related. A few other excuses then finally apologized. So an attempt to buy a space heater that wouldn't chew up a whole bunch of electricity was a failure. My old one runs w/ Hi/Lo rocker switch and dial for temp. This one is well constructed, but IMO, the design is a disadvantage.Read review on BestBuy; only a total of 1 review was available, 5*****.
This heater claims to have technology to warm up a whole room. In a small room less than 100 sq ft. On the highest setting it barely heats it up. It just wastes your electricity. On lower setting with the thermostat you feel nothing so you’re forced to run it on high. It has a thermostat but it is not real, it uses a magnet and after a while the magnet will go to the top and shut off the heater. You cannot even use this as a fan like it claims you can. Complete waste and I see why it is on a massive discount.
When our heat pump system developed a serious refrigerant leak, right when our temperatures were getting quite cold, I bought one of these space heaters. It was on the expensive side, but that turned out to be worth it. We could heat our large dining area and even most of the connected living room very easily. It’s easy, has a thermostat, is quiet, puts out a lot of heat without getting dangerously hot. Our heating problem continued for a week. So I bought a second one for the bedroom. This space heater is outstanding. It also has great safety features. If you try to knock it over or move it, it shuts down. I enthusiastically recommend this space heater!
We have an older model space heater from Vornado. We bought this for the living room. It runs for periods quietly putting out heat, then it will rev up for some unknown and annoying reason for a minute or so, making so much noise we have to rewind what we’re watching because we couldn’t hear the dialogue. This would not work in a quiet bedroom while trying to sleep. Also, the thermostat doesn’t work well. It continues to put out heat even when the thermostat is over the temp that we set it to.
We live in an area that doesn't get cold snaps often, but when we do, it gets very cold. There are areas in our house that are warmer than others, no matter how the entire thermostat is set. It fits into any home decor, and does not take up a lot of space. The digital display touch controls are easy to see and program. It has a cool-touch case, auto shut-off, tip-over protection and the luxury of a 1-9 hour timer. I like that feature in case I want to take a nap, but don't want the heater to stay on continuously. It comes with an easy to understand information guide, which is great! It's not whisper quiet, but I don't find it that disturbingly loud either. Nobody in the family has trouble sleeping or watching TV with it running. I would actually say that it's quieter than many of the old school box cooling fans.I found it interesting that this can be used to move cool after air around in a room as well. I plan to test that feature this summer. The Velocity 3R not only keeps the whole room stylish, but three Vornado vortex amplified heat keeps it very cozy warm. That not only is comforting to ourselves, it's also a great way to stay warm without turning up the thermostat.
I have been a Vornado brand lover for many years now and have owned multiple of their standard table fans. I don't think of their brand name when I think about space heaters, but I should've known that if I ever needed one, they were the ones to "get it right". I've always appreciated Vornado for their compact, modern and ultra effective fans. Their fans are small, take up so much less space, but boy are they powerful! The same is true for this Vornado Velocity 3R. I must say that of all the space heaters including heat dishes I've owned, this thing kicks out more heat and much farther than any of them, hands down. Vornado advertises on their box that the heat travels farther than their competition, I definitely have to agree with them. I set my Velocity 3R in my ... Vornado advertises on their box that the heat travels farther than their competition, I definitely have to agree with them. I set my Velocity 3R in my dining room since the first stop my family makes first thing out of bed (we don't sleep with the heat on) is the kitchen table. I could literally feel the heat output over 10 feet away on the "Medium" setting! I get nervous with space heaters, especially overnight, with prolonged use and the plug outlet getting really hot (I get nervous it will start a fire). The first time I tried the Velocity 3R I only put it on the "Medium" setting to test out the heat on the outlet. I let it run for hours and the plug was barely warm to the touch. The next time I used it on the "High" setting for hours and the plug was only mildly more warm than the "Medium" setting. I really appreciate the Automatic Safety Shut-Off System and the "Finger-Friendly Design" as I have a 2 year old and I need every safety aspect they have to keep my little one out of danger. This space heater may be a little more pricier than a standard space heater, and you might open the box and think you "got screwed" with how small the Velocity 3R is, but I promise you, once you plug this baby in and fire her up for 10 minutes, all your doubts will literally melt away as you bask in cozy comfort! This is a must buy! You will NOT be disappointed!
This heater is very quick and efficient. It heats up a small-medium sized room easily and evenly. It comes with a handle on top for convenient carrying and the outside feels cool even when on. It also automatically turns off if tipped over. These safety features provide peace of mind, especially if you have children or pets. The two knob controls feel sturdy. One knob controls the heat setting (low, medium, high) and the other is a thermostat dial to select a temperature. While there are variable heat settings, I have not been able to distinguish a huge difference between high/medium/low. I imagine it should relate to the level of airflow, but they feel the same to me. My biggest concern is that the heater is quite loud. It’s fine if you’re doing a quiet activity, ... It’s fine if you’re doing a quiet activity, but can be an issue if you’re trying to watch television or work from home and have to join meetings. On first use, there was a plastic smell, which I find to be pretty common for heated household appliances, but eventually went away. Overall, this is a decent heater due to its safety features and ability to quickly heat up an entire room, but some areas can be improved upon, particularly the noise level and heat settings that don’t seem to have much discernible differences.
