Was looking for an inexpensive natural sidewall tire...these were $24.99. Read a review that said they run narrow...so bought 25mm. Put on my 23mm wide (outside dimension) rims, and they inflated to 29mm - pretty fat, but fit great in my 2017 Fuji SL Elite. Ride great, and took them up and down Sassafras Mountain (SC) and over to Brevard (NC) via See Off Mtn & Becky Mtn Roads. Be sure to not overinflate, as with a lot of volume effective pressure at the rim wall is very high even at 90 psi! Liked them so much, wanted a less wide pair for an older "tight clearance" frame (2007 BLUE RC7) - a snug fit as the 25mm inflated to 26mm on 24mm wide rims (outside width). So ordered 2 more sets of 25mm (figure can't mix-and-match and keep a cool look like you can with all ... MoreWas looking for an inexpensive natural sidewall tire...these were $24.99. May stick the 28's on my 1985 Bianchi Trofeo as it has lots of clearance. Rode the 25mm on the local race pace group ride and no problems. My high end tires are 320 tpi, but at 150 tpi these are still a nice ride (remember that a lot of high end tires are at this or below...127 tpi being a common thread count). I am an old dude (over 60) and have ridden a lot of different bikes and tires and wheel combos...so am pretty happy with the price and performance of this tire...though I have only been riding them for about a month (the 28's) and have only 4 rides of about a total of 200 miles on the 25's.

Not even one star. Poorly designed and manufactured. The middle part of the tread is not bonded to the cords underneath and is so thin it tears on every ride. A small puncture caused the tread to bubble up all around the tire. Less than 500 miles and both tires were repaired multiple times and now useless.

I have a set of lightly used Rubino's on my back-up road bike which have been fine. So I purchased a second pair for my primary bike.Into the second ride on these new tires, the front tire sustained a pinhole puncture which would not seal. The puncture would seal with added sealant and inflated to 80 psi, but once ridden would open and spray sealant. After several attempts, I have removed the tire and will look for another set.More disappointing is the non-response from Competitive Cyclist. I have sent text message, email and chat to see if there is a warranty or return option. Finally got a response by chat - no warranty/return/exchange.I recommend not buying this tire.
I just changed out a Rubino Pro Graphine 2.0 that came on the bike. 4000 plus miles had no punctures and am very pleased with the performance of these tires. I did have trouble getting it to mount on the Hunt disc wheels I have, so I mounted it on another wheel(non disc) which was not a problem put it out in the sun and gave it another go. It still was going to give me a hard time getting it on the wheel. So, as I sat there pondering how I'm getting this tire on, I decided to use a hair dryer while I had it about 7/8th mounted it worked out and it's on. Beaded up perfectly. I guess just a few mms difference in tire or wheel size gave me a hard time getting it mounted.
I bought two new Pinarello cycles and my wife wanted more of a road tire on her cycle, opposed to the racing tires that came with it. I ordered the folded Rubino Pro tires for the light tread pattern. We find the light tread pattern on the edges offers a more secure grip on the mixed surfaces of our routes. Interestingly, the .030 inch step on the mold-line is the deepest feature on the tire. The fit around the rim was firm and we like it.
I live in South Central Texas where chipseal roads abound. I switched to Vittoria Rubino Pro Graphene 2.0 from Conti Gran Prix 4000 because at 60 years of age, Contis were way too difficult to mount on my Fulcrum Racing 4, Campy Zonda, or Campy Shamal wheels. I have tried Hutchinsons, Vredsteins and Michelin tires, but only the Vittorias had good durability, puncture resistance, wet road grip like Contis but with greater ease of mounting. The price is also great, and at times they are on sale for a steal so I stock up. I have two bikes (KHS Flite 900 team issue and Blue Axino SL) and average about 4000 miles a year. I change them out every 14 months.Good training and charity ride tires. I weigh 185lbs. Use 700x25 size.
Good grip and nice ride. Tremendously difficult (way to tight) to install on my Vittoria wheels even though I left them out in the sun and used some lubricant on the bead / wheel. They leaked a lot of sealant thru the sidewall, not at the bead but thru the sidewall. They do not last well in the Arizona summer heat. I have been riding on Vittoria tires with tubes for six years. I will go back to the old tube and Vittoria tire set up as these are to much of a PITA and I won't be buying these again.
This tire was a replacement for one that punctured a couple.of weeks ago. That one got a small hole in the tread area that the latex sealant (Stans) didn't seal. Riding this one I ran over something and then the noise or air and fluid escaping. This time a small hash in the sidewall that again the sealant would not seal. Both occasions needed a tube to get home. I guess if you ride pristine roads they are fine but for the debris potholed things we call roads here in San Diego tougher tires with tubes are probably needed.
Just mounted the new 700x30 Rubinos on my Jamis adventure bike. When returning from a 30 mile spin I noticed that both tires have an issue with the molding process quality. The issue is apparently the two half's of the tire mold did not align accurately at the center line of the tire and were off set approximately 0.5 ~ 1.0 millimeters. This means that one side of the tire is higher or lower at 180 degree intervals, making the tire exhibit eccentric motion (wobbly) at higher speeds. I'll be contacting Competitive Cyclist to see is there is a manufacture's warren-tee for defects. There are good tires over-all and I will continue utilize Rubinos on my bikes provided Vittoria gets their manufacturing quality corrected.
