The Victron MultiPlus 12/800/35-16 combines a pure sine wave inverter, a battery charger and a high-speed AC transfer switch in one compact enclosure. As an inverter it delivers 800 VA from a 12 V battery bank; as a charger it supplies 35 A using adaptive charge technology; and its 16 A automatic transfer switch changes source in less than 20 milliseconds, so computers and other electronics keep running when shore or generator power drops out. In the event of a grid failure the inverter takes over the supply to connected loads automatically. You can monitor and control the unit locally over LAN or remotely over the internet using the free VRM app and portal, via a Colour Control GX or Venus GX, from a phone, tablet or computer. Up to six units can run in parallel for more output, and three can be configured for three-phase supply. High start-up power handles inrush loads such as LED and halogen converters and power tools, while Search Mode cuts no-load consumption by around 70 percent, and a programmable relay is provided for alarms.
