I thought it was relativley inexpensive so was expecting it be good but not brilliant - how wrong I was. It is fantastic, a nice weight in my hand and VERY sharp - just glides through bread, even the continental type breads. I would recommend it to anybody

Sharp cutting edge bites into the toughest whole meal bread leaving a lovely smooth cut.The blade is thin but strong and the hand grip is comfortable.
I bake my own bread - both using a bread machine and loaves in the oven and I always had trouble cutting it thin - even after letting the loaf cool. I have bought the Victorinox steak knives before and love them, so I decided to buy the bread knife and WOW! It is awesome!! So easy to saw through even hot bread without crushing it. And slices as thin as I want too. Would definitely recommend this knife - the price is unbeatable and it's Victorinox - you won't be disappointed!
We bought this 'Classic' Victorinox bread knife to replace an old Fibrox bread knife. Both models are still available but I don't know if there is any difference in the blade quality. Time will tell. My wife feels that the handle on the Classic knife is not as comfy (for someone with large hands) as the Fibrox.
Great value for a great bread knife. Victorinox make the best value knives on the market and I was really impressed by how much better this knife is compared to my old dull bread knife. Treat yourself today!
As mentioned by several other buyers, the bang for the bucks is great. While the knife doesn't look (specially the handle) very fancy, it cuts my home made bread literally like butter. I am not sure why I fiddled around with our old knife for so many years, I should have upgraded that a long time ago. The Victorinox performs absolutely fanatstic and for the around $40 I would think you won't find anything better.
I already have one and find it perfect for cutting bread that has a crisp crust but a soft centre, without squashing the bread or having to cut a thick slice. As a gesture of goodwill, I ordered another for a next door neighbour who has been kindly supplying us with a fresh home-made loaf of bread each week during Covid 19 restrictions. They were delighted and very impressed.
I purchased this bread knife to replace an expensive Global bread knife that I was never satisfied with and this new purchase works great.
