I bought my rod 3 weeks ago and have landed a multitude of plate worthy fish and even reeled in a 1.7m bull shark, these rods take the worry of it snapping out of the equation your main emphasis will become solely focused on will my line snap. 12/10 (the rod will handle heavy line just ensure you’re well aware of the drag setting on the reel and you’ll run into no issues.)

If you want a rod for the boat or the shore this is the one you need virtually indestructible I’ve put mine through hell and back wether that be heaving big jewwys up the rocks or whipping the most heavy of jig and live baits out this rod can handle it so strong and amazing sensitivity definitely one of my most favourite rods and the best part is it comes at a great price if your gunna do something do it right the first time do yourself the favour buy the ugly stick

Beautiful rod that lasted 2 sessions thanks to me being a little too over enthusiastic and under attentive with my casting. Had the line wrapped around the tip after a fight with a 3m flatty. The next cast saw a little passion along with a snapped line and a splash in the distance. Will be buying again!
This is the second ugly stick ive purchased & the price was a bargain & the customer support is second too none, the guy's looked after all my needs & when they weren't too sure about exactly what i was looking for. They called me & asked me personally what am i looking for in my fishing rod, now ya can't get better than that in my books. Cheer's guy's, you've done me proud again. Thanks a bunch hooked Online, ya can't go wrong for all your tackle need's with Hooked Online!
Very nice rod. Flexible, but sturdy. Ugly Sticks are usually pretty good rods. Great for bait fishing, but probably not too good for lures and plastics due to how whippy it is. Suits bait fishing perfectly. I matched it with a Daiwa Saltist 2500 spin reel. Fantastic outfit.
Hasn't let me down yet. Caught a couple of sharks with it. I've paired it with a Penn slamer 7500. Probably catch more if I was any decent at fishing
I was walking about 3m behind this woman when I failed to notice she stopped. My UGLY STICK poked her in the back of the head and got tangled in her hair. She got MAD. But the rod stood up to a wild thrashing and my new girlfriend got hit with a UGLY STICK.
I got sick & tired of expensive carbon rod tips breaking, so i bought an ugly stick to get away from issue. I haven't caught a large fish on it yet. But it has handled bass, snapper & flathead superbly. The light action rod is light in the tip but has heaps of grunt down low. It works soft plastics no problems at all. It isn't as light as the carbon rods, but only minor issue (i took 1 star off because of weight), I have flicked lures all day with it chasing bass in the Brisbane river.
Great rod (usg sp 561bh,01k17cm ) caught a 30 kg. plus. Estuary cod . Next day a metre plus Spanish mackeral .(both in Exmouth). This was physically testing but the rod had good flexibility and power a plenty for these two good size fish. So impressed I have now bought a second one.
