Traxxas X-Maxx 8s Monster Truck - REDX

Best RC I’ve ever owned so far. Day one I beet the hell out of this thing for hours and it seemed like it just wanted more. I’ve broken multiple cars in a shorter time frame at the same location. The only issues I’ve got is the motor and esc seem to be running a little worm and it’s on 50 degrees outside right now, but they are still running strong. The biggest issue I have is the body pops off all the time, even on some relatively small jumps and/or rollovers. Body seems like a much better quality than I’ve ever had on any other RC. Honest rating would be 4.8 due to the body

Awesome truck, honestly you have to see one in person and in action to understand...even videos don't really quite capture the size and speed.

I've owned my Xmaxx 8s for about 2.5 years. It is incredibly fast for a vehicle it's size. You'll definitely need a large area to really enjoy this truck and for safety reasons. I'm not a basher...but...the thing is so large and fast that you will occasionally roll/flip it, seeing a nearly 30 lbs RC vehicle flip and roll is quite a sight...and with that said, you're gonna break stuff every now and again. It's an incredibly sturdy truck though. This isn't a toy for children and I would even say not for novice adults. I would recommend the upgraded Traxxas steering servo as it's stronger and better enables faster turning and maintaining better control during turns. Traxxas really put a lot of great engineering into this thing. Keep up with maintenance and just drive the thing. I rated it 4 stars because...there is always room for improvement and if there wasn't room you wouldn't need to upgrade some parts.

For starters let me say this thing is a beast. They said Aw get the Maxx. Well I almost did. But I ordered this one brand new. Sure am glad I stuck with the X-Maxx. This Hoss will go where ever you want it to. I really love my X-Maxx. I feel sorry for my other 2 RC’s ain’t played with them since I got the Hoss. And RC Superstore was fantastic too got it all really fast. They were on the ball. Thanks guys.

If my son can't break it its gotta be tough.

Fun factor is very high here. This is not a little buggy. Be prepared to spend some money and wrench it when it breaks. Amazing acceleration very good handling for a monster truck. Lots of goodies to upgrade. Be safe with lipos keep it on the ground. See you bashing soon.

Size Matters!

Best RC truck purchase ever! Unless you’ve seen one in person pictures do it no justice. Everything else seems smaller once you have one. Performance out the box is unreal. If I had to call out anything other than the price I’d have to say I wish the servo was a little stronger and that it came with roof skid protector like the Maxx does. Both are quick fixes. Other than that I’m completely satisfied with my Xmaxx. Planning on getting another one very soon. Traxxas EZ-Peak Dual Charger

My EZ-Peak Live Dual charger for my 8s Xmaxx is not working at all. Only charged my 6700 packs one time straight out of the box and had issues with it disconnecting over and over but finally getting them charged after 45 mins to an hour. The next day after arriving home from work I plugged the charger into the outlet and it will not come on at all. Need replacement asap! Unhappy $1500.00 spent at the moment!

Traxxas X-Maxx

The Traxxas X-Maxx is a Beast! I love the fact that it has the 3 different modes on it and the new safety features. I’m seriously in awe every time I take it to the park! If you’re thinking about getting one.. stop thinking and do it because you won’t regret it! For real fun make sure you’re in a very open area because this thing is too fast for anyone’s subdivision. I always go to a large open area to unleash the Beast!!

Traxxas Xmaxx 8s

I ordered my new 8s and everything seemed to be great at first, however after receiving I noticed the tire sidewalls seem to be super dried out, like as if it sat in a non climate controlled warehouse far too long. I have moisturized the tires several times but it still seems no better.Also, I ordered the light bar kit and very disappointed in the small, cheap wires and plugs they are equipped with. One of the plugs came off the wire on the 1st run.

X-MAXX review after 5 months of ownership

Let's start by saying the truck is a lot of fun. The quality control department needs to do a better job. I. I had to rebuild my rear end after the very 1st run due to my gear's shredding. I found that the rear chassie had to be replaced Because the bearing pocket was skewed. I went through 2 sets of gears before figuring this out. The body itself is OK. I upgraded mine to a proline a 100 times better. The steering servo is also an issue. I would say at the time Of purchase Just get the 2085X servo, you will need it after a few runs. With that being said the value and the durability of the truck is great.. It's a beast and a lot of fun, you won't be disappointed. I would not recommend this truck for a new RC driver.
