This truck was rated for intermediate experience but right out of the box with no practice in The Last 5 Years I found this truck is simple, easy to run, fast, goes anywhere, yes it's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, I bought another upgraded truck of the same model and outside of the upgrades I can barely tell a difference. Yes stock parts may break with hard use, buy the upgraded parts, RPM etc, and you are garanteed hours of family fun. Highly recommend the slash, but get two. My daughters boyfriend got me hooked and have tons of fun racing. Start with the Li-Po Batts and get the fan for the speed controller, you won't be sorry with the extended speed and runtimes.

I have a slash 4x4 of my own. It is super durable and last a long time! I got it last christmas and on the first day I crashed it into a pole. The only thing that breaks on this is the a-arms, but these only break when impacted at full speed.. 60mph! But overall the truck is the best short course truck there is, it has the best motor and the best remote. Since I got it in late christmas I have been running it ever since. I work at the fair and there are a lot of places to ride it, I bolted up a rock hill, jumped 15ft in the air on BMX skateboard and bike ramps, this car still lasted after all that. I also ran through deep mud and water, completely waterproof, durable and overall a good vehicle.

Simply designed with excellent overall reliability and durability. Working with 11 Year Old now on installing the telemetry sensors available and the telephone dashboard. Excellent skill building due to both the hands on mechanics as well as teaching how sensors work. I have two Slash 2WD and one Slash 4X4 VXL Brushless. All three Slash cars have worked well.

Shock cap came off first time having it out. Not a bad roll over but it rolled and the shock cap came off. All the oil came out. Third time having it out the battery won’t charge. Not happy. Ez-peak charger is junk
Ive had 2 2wd Slashs on 3s. They dont pull hills without a running start. Ive had 3 Vaterra Twin Hammers, on 3s, in 4s, and and Upright shock upgrade on 4s. Never used the 2 speed tranny, they roll a LOT and they break. I now have 4 4x4 Slashs all on 4s Batteries. 2 HCG, and 2 LCG. This is what HAS to be upgraded to make a Real Off Road Toy outta a Slash 4x4: 120amp ESC 2000kv-3000kv motor 5000Mah 4s Battery (29mm Battery Strap) Aluminum Hubs all Around Good set of adjustable Shocks Steel Axels Roll Bar / Frame Stiffener E-Revo Clutch RPM Rear Bumper w/RPM Wheelie kit The rest of the upgrades you can perform Now, or as you break the stock parts... A-Arms Front Bumper Body mounts 17mm Hubs 17mm wheels Bulkheads (front/rear) Gearing, 19/50, to 18/54 is a good range.
Nice truck. Would recommend aluminum shock caps and heavy duty drive shafts. They break quick. Other than that, it’s a durable and fun truck!
Only complaint I thought I selected the extra bigger battery but it wasn't added to my cart. Otherwise you probably don't need another person to tell you the Traxxas Slash is a very good RC with a good reputation.
Hey all hope you are safe and well out there. Added a second Slash to the team while putting my 2 Rustlers up on ebay. In my opinion you have to go 4x4 and the Slash brushless is the perfect starting point. They are fast, durable, versatile, and responsive. We do more off than on-road so adding the Proline 117012 trencher tires is our first upgrade along with LIPO batteries. If you plan on bashing even a little bit be sure to have spare TRA6852X and TRA6851X driveshafts on hand (6451 and 6452 steel versions if you really go hard with jumps). Pick up a couple of Traxxas 5119 Ball Bearings since you may lose them when you lose the driveshafts. In summary - get out there safely - have some fun and make some memories with one of the best RC 1/10 4X4s available today.

This truck is a beast. I’ve landed many jumps upside down and it still comes back for more. The 2s lipo lasts a lot longer than I thought and charger pretty quick. The only complaint I have is the shocks. A couple times when I landed the truck really hard, the shock caps popped off. This can easily be fixed though with more shock oil and Teflon tape to put on the threads. Overall amazing truck and fast shipping!
