TP-Link Tapo T310 Thermal Sensor Clear

Website description and packaging doesn’t say you need a Tapo hub until you turn it on. Need to get additional product to be able to use it.

I'm using it as an ebike lithium battery heat sensor together with a Tapo power block to turn off the charging power if it gets too warm and will sound an alarm. It also turns off after a delay so it never keeps charging, That is just to be a bit safer with lithium batteries. Works well and I knew it needed a hub before I purchased.

Accurate temperature reading

I have 2 TP Link temperature monitors, one outside and one indoor. These devices give me readings when I need, from my handphone.

Neat little device

Good little sensory that can be stuck on with supplied adhesives, magnets or dangled from the short cord provided. Reading update every 15 minutes in .5 or .3 of a degree increments. Max and min are when they occur. Not sure if they are designed for outdoor use in the long run however i have one under the balcony on the cord and its working as expected albeit only been a few months. Good app feature with the device also - last 24 hours in 15 minutes graph for temp and humidity, plus last 30 days and last 12 months summary min/max. Data can be exported and you can run automatins based on temp/humidity thesholds. Temps come up in Google Home but not humidity.

Needs Receiver

The sensor only works if you buy another device which acts as a receiver. This was not clear from the website and I've returned it.

Works great

Works exactly as expected, unfortunately it seems some people don't research products before they buy them so they weren't aware it requires a hub to work. Currently using a few of them to control heating in different rooms to maintain a consistent temperature throughout the house.
