Tissot PRX 40mm

In 1978, Tissot created a quartz model distinguished by a slim case, narrow indices and a steel bracelet. Its wide, horizontal lug design, typical of the era, was perfectly integrated into the flat tonneau-shaped case. A few years later, Tissot registered the name PRX. “PR” stands for “precise” and “robust”. The “X” represents the Roman numeral ten and the pressure of 10 bar, equivalent to a depth of 100 metres, up to which the watch remains waterproof. In 2021, Tissot presented the new PRX as a modern interpretation of the predecessor model. The Tissot PRX’s 316L stainless steel case has a diameter of 40 mm. It features a subtle tonneau shape and is adorned with a narrow, round bezel. The sides alternate between vertically brushed, rounded finishes and polished facets. The Tissot PRX is equipped with a dial featuring nickel-plated indices and hands. The lines of the case extend directly into the bracelet without the use of traditional lugs. Its most striking feature is its row of large links that span the entire width. Its flexibility and suppleness make it a true success in ergonomic design and provide an exceptional wearing experience. The satin finish on the outer surfaces is as carefully executed as the polishing of the inner surfaces. The hands of the Tissot PRX are coated with Super-LumiNova and are positioned very close together. This allows the dial to be placed closer to the watch crystal. The visual effect achieved by the Tissot designers makes the watch case appear even flatter and slimmer than it actually is. The watch features scratch-resistant sapphire crystal as well as a precise, reliable Swiss-made quartz movement. This version of the Tissot PRX features a red dial with indices and an integrated 316L stainless steel bracelet with a quick-change system and a push-button butterfly folding clasp.
