Bought some to try as we make a few Thai and Asian dishes - put it with Katsu first and it paired beautifully - became part of the dish rather than getting lost in itReally want to try making sticky coconut rice with it for a Thai green curry as I think it’ll be beautiful!Super easy to cook!

I can't speak for how the aroma may have changed but I particularly like this rice. It is an essential item in my household and it pairs beautifully with almost everything we prepare

Firstly, I wanted to like this product as I always cook Thai at home. However it doesn't come near to what I usually have and had in Thailand. The rice seems to be a little old judging by the slight yellow of the grain. This means it will need more water than those of new rice ones which usually will only need 0.5 cm of water above the rice. For this rice I made it 1 cm and it turn out just okay (cooked through whilst remained unsoaky). Secondly, the rice seems to lack jasmine fragrance and not as fluffy as jasmine rice should be. I found better ones from local Thai mini mart although they are quite heavy bags but the quality is undoubtedly incomparable.
I was sent two packets of this as a sub for M&S Jasmine rice. The Tilda rice is over twice the price and is much worse than the M&S brand one. There was no aroma at all. It tasted just like cheap supermarket Long grain rice. Really miss the Waitrose Hom Mali jasmine rice which smelt and tasted great. My children even noticed the difference too. Tilda used to be synonymous with rice quality but even the basmati has been a big let down in recent times.
I used to go for this Jasmine rice all the time but the flavour and texture has changed a bit. Will buy again for convenience if I'm stuck but need to source the proper stuff for authenticity of flavour and aroma which probably means sourcing a 5kg bag from a Thai shop!
Usually buy either elephant brand from the Chinese supermarket or Hom Mali from another supermarket but Tilda Jasmine rice was always a good alternative. Not any more! Not what Id associate with an AAA grade rice - quite unpleasant smell (definitely not fragrant or Jasmine) and quite yellow-y. Would not buy again.
This rice used to be chewy, sticky-textured and fragrant as you expect from a jasmine rice. Recently it seems to have been replaced by completely different rice. Even before you cook it you can see the different in the grain's shape. I used to be able to cook it to the perfect texture to my liking without even trying, but now I have failed in three attempts, changing the method every time. It's fluffy and with no bite. That alone doesn't warrant one star, but the fact it is sold as jasmine rice for that price is.
Wr eat a lot of rice so I thought buying the big bag would save on rubbish and cost. But the quality of this rice is very different to the smaller bags. The rice doesnt cook as nice. It isnt fluffy and sticky. It is more like a basmati rice.
When it comes to rice, Tilda brand has never disappointed me. Jasmine rice is fluffy and aromatic, easier to digest than other types of rice. Highly recommended for oriental dishes, especially if you are coeliac: rice is naturally glutenfree, but it's not always manufactured free from contaminations, as Tilda does.
